  • Very much in syncro miles & tessa, in syncro!

  • beautiful dancing!!

  • Whats is the styling called when you slide on the floor in the end of the move 3:19?

  • Pff, this is way more sexy than a lapdance, or whatever you see on MTV these days.

  • Love the dance, gonna animate you guys someday :)

  • you are excellent!

  • shes a dead porn star now

  • The first dance seems to be more lindy than west coast. There were more Charleston type moves typical of lindy and the music was swing music. The second dance is classic west coast swing as it was danced to a piece that is not swing music. As well, there were more very flashy, smooth turns in the second dance.

  • @northstar9613 in all honesty, lindy hop and west coast swing are very much the same dance. it's just a totally different character. any move you can do in one flies in the other but it still looks very different

  • What song is the first one? I'm absolutely in love with it ...

  • @psykiapa Wish I knew also, adore it! Plus, I'll admit me and my boyfriend met when I was ranting about the batgirl comics one day, and we fell in love over spiderman and silver surfer comics.....

    disgusting huh? hehehe.

  • @psykiapa I found it! It's Micheal Buble's Spiderman Theme.

  • @nocamasi what's boring?

  • nice stuff! I really like that spin/ lift thing at 1:33

  • is she barefoot!?

  • @twelve50two She couldn't be barefoot, considering she had a few heel leads and slides that would be impossible without actual heels. Her shoes just make it look like it sometimes. ;)

  • First one is Michael Buble´s "Spiderman Theme"

  • They were great I wonder how long they have been dancing together?

  • the second songs is from Melissa Ethridge and the first one?

  • Lindy has a bounch where WCS dosent also wcs is all about the stretch.

  • the tension and the stretch is really important in lindy too.

  • what exactly is the difference between lindy hop and west coast? i know lindy, but west coast i'm unclear about.

  • Oooh *love*

  • I love them!!! They was my teachers of west cost here in Brazil!!!

  • 2:40

  • East Coast Swing came from Lindy Hop. It's the simplified version of Lindy Hop. Lindy Hop is the real deal, man.

  • east coast swing sucks

Unless you're talking about the lindy universe

West Coast is different from Lindy. They are good for different reasons. People are ignorant when they insult one when they haven't put any effort into learning it.

    Both are amazing dances!

  • i've never learned lindy, but west coast is amazing, and It's clear that they are very different. I'm not much of a fan of east coast at all.

  • I'd like to see them in dancing outfits. it'll look so cute. :)

  • Wish my arms looked like that. The second part is my favorite.

  • what´s the name of the second music?

  • Melissa Etheridge, I am the only one

  • Actually its a medley... The opening is in fact Sing Sing Sing. But then it transitions into Spider-man sung by Michael Buble. There are videos of Buble singing spiderman right here on youtube.

  • Awesome Lindy and WCS as always!

Does anyone know if those were rehearsed ahead of time, or was that purely improvised social dancing?

  • It looks improvised to me, since she doesn't seem to know EXACTLY what's coming up next. But still, they're so fluid! I guess after dancing together so long perfection comes naturally to them. =P

  • All Improvised Social.

  • I believe it is Sing Sing Sing, also known as the chips-ahoy song...

  • That's a common intro riff in Swing songs. It's all Spiderman though.

  • spider man... richard cheese

  • I am 17 years old and this is my favorite dance of all time =)

  • I am 50 years old and this is my favorite dance of all time. I have watched the old timers do it in my ballroom class and am amazed at their skill. The younger version is sensual and a little more improvised, but just as fun to watch. Watch some of the old timers. Look for Benny Goodman videos on this site. If you can link to my site, I think I added it as a favorite. You will love it. It's from the WWII era.

  • it's hard to go from lindy to wcs!

    they're so good!

  • Great stuff. A nice beat like "Only One" is a great way to show off a bit.

I never get tired of watching this clip. Thanks for sharing!

  • that's not what I learned in my West Coast Swing dance class......

  • lol, its a medlyish dance of wcs and lindy. i have to admit.. i couldnt tell if they changed to lindy or were just doing a whip. very weak swiviles is all i have to say. good wc tho

  • did you know these guys competed against benji and heidie from so you think you can dance and there close friends!!

  • freestyly wcs is so hard... you and your parter have to have so much connection to know what the other is going to do.... it wasn't the best i've seen and the song was really slow... i like faster songs but overall it was pretty good

  • Go take some west coast swing or lindy hop classes and then say it's for beginners. That is WAY harder than it looks.

  • Myles and Tessa are the Canadian WCS champions, and ranked 4th in the world. Beginners they're not.

  • So coooooooool!!! you're super awesome!! I like this movie clip. where they are from?

  • Myles and Tessa are simply really amazing! i don't get tired watching this video again and again. They have a really nice style, I wish I could meet them some day, particularly because I'm learning lindy hop and i know how difficult it is ! So congratulations Myles and Tessa, go on, and come to France some day !!

  • I them at my school! there good dance teachers!

  • Fantastic! And yay Micheal Buble! How long have you two been dancing?

  • And by "you two" I mean "those two" :)

  • Beautiful dancing... great couple, great energy and super sexy style.

  • That WCS is SSSSSSOOOOO SEXY. woof!

  • the WCS is great, I don't like lindyhop in general and I don't know enough about it to give my opinion on the lindyhop part but they did a great job on the WCS!

  • Eh, their lindy wasn't that great. Westie girls have a very difficult time Lindy Hopping because they have a hard time getting the frame, partner connection and floor connection correct. Personally I don't like WC in general - it bodyrolls too much. It forces sex INTO the dance TO the music when the sex should come FROM the music INTO the dance. So I think we're even. :)

  • wcs and lindy is two diffrent counts that is what makes them hard to do back to back wcs is a 6 count I think and the lindy is a 8 count .. I think they look great as someday I would like to be able to dance like that .... weast coast is, easy to learn and hard to master like the east coast swing ...

  • Both Lindy and WC are 6 and 8 count dances. Its not the counts that make them difficult to switch between properly - its the frame, body position, floor connection and styling. And yes, partner connection. Counts have little to do with it as Lindy and WC share a fair amount of count and "move" vocabulary. As for EC - it doesn't take much to master it - most people just never bother to do it well.

  • Lindy girls also tend to be exposed to a greater variety of whole body movement in their dance - Lindy switches between Charleston, can be mixed with Balboa, Hip Hop, Blues, Shag, etc and employs the whole 360 degrees of space. They also tend to rely on improvation to a greater degree, rather than set, practiced moves. This tends to make them more flexible in switching between dances.

  • well thaank you I did nto know that there was a 8 count wcs I am learning all the partner dances ... as I have been dancing for almost 1 year. and find partner dances as fun and a great way to excersize.. have a great new year and thank you for the infomation. Tim

  • Actually, you have it reversed. Westie girls are the ones with more body movement, spinning skill, isolations, and freedom to improvise, and less restrictions to how they move through patterns. WCS offers the most freedom for the follower of all the partner dances. The very nature of WCS is that it evolved to accomodate the popular dance styles of each decade, so it includes movement from Lindy, Shag, Blues as well as Disco,HipHop,Jazz,Funk, and Comtemporary. Do your research next time.

  • I think that westie girls turn better than lindy girls tho.

  • When I hear all this Westie Girl, Lindy Girl stuff, all I can think of is Sylvia Sykes. Girlfriend is the consumate dancer, no one dance defines her. Learn them all, dance them all. Don't let the dances style define you. Bring your own personality into whatever dance you do..make it your own as all the best dancers do.

  • great dancing guys!!!!! who sang spider man?

    dj davec DANCE11 UK

  • Michael Buble :)

  • damn good stuff!! would love to get back to WCS!!

  • You're an idiot

  • This is up in Canada somewhere?

  • this was shot in vancouver, BC. at the howard johnson hotel at a salsa night. they did a guest performance. awesome to see them live

  • brilliant dancing...these guys move so cool and inside the music that you know they haven't just learned the steps like we learn arithmatic

  • It's a really odd angle to watch WCS from...down below. They obviously are good dancers.... It's a very bluesy WCS... Very clubby (if there was enough room). LOL The song is "The Only One" by Melissa Ethridge

  • what is the wcs song called?

  • It's Benny Goodman's "Swing Swing Swing".

  • It's called "Sing, Sing, Sing"

  • Absolutely right. "Sing, Sing, Sing." I must have been having a Senior Moment. Thanks for the correction!

  • Great!!! Love the lindy hop! For the WCS, if the girl can sway more on her body and leg (the guy is great!), it will be perfect! Oh god, now I am thinking to go back to Lindy and WCS from salsa

  • This comment clearly indicates that you have no idea what WCS is supposed to look like or how to describe it.

  • rpere009. you're wrong. The song is the Spiderman theme by Michael Buble.

  • No one is wrong. There were two dances, first lindy hop with spiderman, and second WCS with I'm the only one.

  • That was awesome! Great musicality!

  • that looks like fun

  • It's tonnes of fun!

  • i just love watching these guys dance!

  • i know what you mean. seeing these guys perform wcs makes me want to pick it too. i tried it back in december but my feeble brain is only capable of handling a few dances at a time. right now, salsa and bachata are it

  • Bachata is so much fun.

  • hey, this has been driving me crazy: what is that opening beat in the michael buble song from? listen to the music playing from 0:11 to 0:30; i swear i've heard that beat in another swing song before. in fact, it was on an old oreo/nabisco commercial several years ago.

lol, you wouldn't happen to have any idea what i'm talking about, would you? where that beat is from, what song?

  • Wow, think im quittin' Salsa and turn Lindy.

  • Can anyone tell me what tune they dancing WCS too?

    Thanks

  • Its "I'm the Only One" by Melissa Etheridge
