The GMAX program you are referring to is the test used by MBA programs internationally to help decide which candidates are likely to succeed in their schools. Grammar in the form of Sentence Correction is very important, and weighs heavily in the grade.
GMAX is the name of the FREE version of 3D STUDIO MAX and it's been around for many years. So to avoid confussion the creators of that grammar software should have used another name instead. thanks anyways
That is an interesting question. I had grammar in middle school and then in high school we read and critiqued books. I think I need to go back to middle school and learn how to read and write.

Wouldn't we "use "are instead of is in the above sentence.

GMAX has been teaching GMAT courses since 1993. The other company uses Gmax to avoid confusion.
