Ok I work at a hotel and one night I got a horrible virus in an email, it locked up the computer, and disabled the internet and every program I tried to run. It infected alot of the files aswell... so what I did was Download SUPERAntispyware Free off of my old laptop, and put it on a usb...I installed it on the computer and Bam it was clean!!! The internet was enabled again & it was virus free! I must say I realy hate virus they make me want to kill somebody!!!!!

There is a vast difference between malware and viruses which is where programs like this come into play. Many users get a problem and think they have a virus, whereas most times it is malware, which AV's do not remove :-)

yewtubepl0x - Tracking cookies are quite normal, the majority of sites use them just as I do myself, it tracks where visitors came from, what pages they viewed etc. Tracking cookies are quite harmless and can easily be removed using an app such as CCleaner :-)

i have the avg virus but i think im getting rid of it.

so far i've used malwarebytes and ccleaner but i still get pop-ups offering me anti virus protection

CCleaner cleans out the crap, mbam and super are usually pretty good at removing the popups but sometimes there are some stubborn ones, but let me know how you get on :-)

Check the forums and you will see that many of the security forums suggest using Super, MBAM, A-Squared etc, we are well ware of the fakeware and blacklist it as soon as is possible.

mattyu21 - As with any antimalware / antivirus program it will only find what is in its database. If it is finding viruses I would consider changing to an antivirus that detects them.

I'm trying out the free edition. A virus is messing up my Google and Yahoo searches. No matter what I search the result is an advertisement. A friend recommended SuperAntiSpyware.

It ran for 15 hours; got 115k cookies. I tried clicking next but nothing happened.

Finally, I turned off my computer. The problem is still there.

I tried contacting the maker. I filled out a message and it to a diagnostic download. That tried to run but after awhile it shut down. Please help.

Carlosx124 - Superantispyware no longer needs to be run in Safe Mode, rebooting does not remove anything. All that is removed is malware traces, and when rebooting it removes any traces that are 'locked'. So your documents, pictures, music etc are quite safe.
