Well.. if I was still very young I'd find kind of cool to play with a stand-3DS under my blankets after getting it for Christmas.

...I think that's about the only way I can see the stand being good; but I guess time will tell.

It may at least look modern enough to decorate your desk while charging or something... Except that it looks like it doesn't charge, wtf?

A stand hmm......But isn't KIU playing just like all other other shooter games for the DS. Aim with stylus, shoot with R or L, move with D pad/Circle Pad. It never tired me out that much. (Games Like Metroid, Call of Duty, Dementium, Starfox Command)

@CrazyDuckBE No game they have made on the 3DS requires any peripheral. This game doesn't need it, but Sakurai heard some complaints about it not being comfortable to hold for long periods of time so he packaged in this stand for free.

@ToasterPig It's free and it's meant to make kid icarus more comfortable to play. If you don't feel uncomfortable playing it, then you don't need to use it. If you get the thumbstrap you should feel no discomfort.

@jimmyelgringito Yes... as I have stated, I understand its purpose. Making it free is definitely a good move. But the 3DS itself is not designed for stationary play. And a stand basically requires stationary play. If I needed to sit down to play kid icarus comfortably then it should just be on a console. The benefit of a handheld is you can play it virtually anywhere. And I often find myself playing mine when I am NOT in front of a flat surface I could put a stand on.

@ToasterPig Well, you CAN play anywhere, but some people have reported receiving handcramps from playing it. I tried it out (awesome by the way) and i didn't feel anything bad. It's basically sakurai trying to to please people who previewed the game but didn't like how it felt to hold the console while playing it. The game controls really well and other than it being a bit uncomfortable for some, it's a perfect handheld game.
