  • hahaha, fender's new pawnshop is this guitar, but for 800$

  • dude squiers are the 2nd to worst guitar

  • @squigmasta97 I know the internet is the perfect conduit for every nob to share their opinons, no matter how ill informed, but, come on, man... at least ground your opinons in some sort of reality.

  • What amp/effects did you use?

  • squiers suck!!!

  • I would like to see a review of the Ibanez mikro selling for 139.00 3/4 scale I have one and love it.I'm an adult player with small hands and the neck is so comfortable to play and it's a well made guitar, check one out for yourself better than a Squier or lesser ebay junk or First Act.

  • Dude, this is incredible! Great channel! Keep up!

  • Squier '51 used in The Evolutionary Tree Incident's video "Useful Sometimes". Please listen to it! Vote up!

  • has no whammy bar

  • To me it looks like they were trying to kind of pull off the 51' P bass look.

  • is this guitar good for everything? becuase it sounds amazing for the price!

  • I have one of these, butterscotch coloring, its so great, gonna get rid of the stock pickups and throw in some SD sH-P61 Pearly Gates Pickups on the humbuckers and Dimarzio DP 416 on the neck position. Its gonna be amazing.

  • i have a modded 51 :)

  • no offense but u say its good, i can hear it humming like hell :/ well ok for the 100 bucks it will be worth its money

  • i got this!

  • I have one exactly like the videos, 'cept my damn knobs fall off...

  • Good guitar. I'd play this till the cows fall from the sky ;p

  • I have refused to purchase a Squier, just because when I play them at my friend's houses they sound like crap if you don't buy new pickups and a good amp.

  • I have a squirer guitar that i've had for a few years and i ended up putting it down and started playing my acoustic guitar cause i have no idea how to restring it. will you please show how to string that particular guitar

  • this guitar is beastly Im using mine right now.

  • play it more!

  • i love my '51. got it for 55 bucks at a pawn shop

  • Would you compare it to the song of a Strat with a humbucker? I have the Gibson version (the only Gibson '51).

Note: It's a Fender P bass body, but I certainly understand someone saying it is a Strat body.

  • It IS actually a Strat body. It's the pots and the pickguard that are inspired by the P-bass.

  • Well, in most of what I read, it was a P-Bass. Either way, great guitar.

  • this seems like a very underated guitar like seriously a humbucker and single coil in neck is perfect

  • SHHH!!! dont tell anyone!!! they still sell cheap!!! :D

  • actually its one of the lower quality fenders

  • like that matters

  • are you saying quality does not matter to you? i personally like my guitar to sound pretty good, not that these dont, but its easy to find a better cheap guitar than this one

  • be DIY you can modify

  • Like what? The 51 was a nice guitar for the $. For a cheap guitar it came with cool switching, a one piece maple neck and great design. These aren't favored by modders because of the price but because the design offers potential. I can't think of a better guitar sold in the last 10-15 years. A great buy.

  • all im saying is that at most guitar stores ive been to (mostly guitar center) i have been told that squiers are on lower end. i am not saying they are bad or sound terrible as you can tell by the video, just lower end on quality.

  • i`ve played one today. i`ve never played anything better for the price.

  • im not saying theyre a rip off, good god. you said "for the price". they dont cost much and are lower quality. im not saying if you get one youre getting ripped off, but they cost less for a reason

  • The best $99 i ever spent! I just painted the Pick gard , heavy gage strings and a good set up.

  • These are a fantastic value. I got mine one 2 years ago fro $99, and it plays great. Too bad they quit making them.

  • thats actuly like a hybrid strat or tele, i like even though i play metal

  • I bought a Squire Affinity yesterday, my first electrict guitar, well cared for. Its an NC76---.

Thanks for the vid and nice website too. Going there now.

  • is that a good guitar....(for a first elec guitar....) but i'm good...not a beginner...

i do care for sound...but i dont have a tone of mony...how her's neck for shredding....?

  • you guys know a good guitar that's good with both rock music and "clean" music under $400?

  • ianez rg 320

  • Epiphone G-400

  • SQUIER 51... modded

  • GAH. It's not a Strat body. It's a P-Bass body, which is the bass version of the Telecaster. The problem was, because of the Tele shape, the bass overbalanced. So they lengthened the bass horn to compensate.

Thus, it's all Telecaster. Hence the name. 51. The year the Tele came out. The P-Bass came out in 51 as well.

Don't confuse the Telecaster with the Broadcaster. The officially named Telecaster came out in 51.

    The Strat was in 54.

Your history lesson for the day.

  • The Broadcaster and Telecaster are both the same guitar, essentially. At least as far as body-style goes. I'm rusty on the electronics.

But I disagree on the "all-tele" part. That's a strat body with a funny pickguard if I ever saw it.

  • Look up the P-Bass. It's the bass version of the Telecaster, but the bass horn is longer. That's what the '51 has. It's a mashup of all of the guitars Fender made in '51. Which was, last time I checked, only the Telecaster and the P-Bass.

  • I just looked up the P-Bass from '51. Body style's the same as is the neck. I was thinking of the modern P-Bass. Good call.

For future reference though, the P-Bass is double-cut. The telecaster's not. I'm sure you know this already. I'm just disagreeing with the longer horn part. I just think it's a little redundant.

  • No, the original one's were actually called Telecasters, they changed a few things on it when it was renamed.

  • How musch does this Squier Guitar cost in euros??Is it good for beginners??

  • Think about 120 euros... And yes, it's a good starter guitar.

  • dats my guitar...i got dat 1

  • Thats*

    That*

  • lol

  • :DD

  • the best guitar ever

  • yo, this guitar is one of the best guitars under $200 ever made...i have heard maybe even $300!!! its an amazing guitar! i now won one along with a gibson sg special faded, an epiphone g400, and an epiphone les paul special II. this one kills the epiphones stock, AND put some GFS pups in this baby and she SCREAMS!!!!! just google the squier 51 modders forum and ull be convinced to join the legions of 51 fans out there.

  • Squier sux. i have one. im sellin it and gettin and epiphone SG or Les Paul. SUK IT

  • you honestly don't know a fucking thing do you?? this is an awesome guitar, I own one, it's extremely versatile, you can play anything on it, your Squier might suck, but this model was made before Squier started to suck, so I'd just like to say suck a dick, because you're a bit of a dumbass.

  • true, but epiphones suck too, its just gibsons squire lol. Get a real fender or gibson SUCK IT

  • its not all people who have enough money to do that

    SUCK THAT, BITCH

  • everybody suck my dick and stop arguing

  • gay

  • check out schecter also. they are cheap but have real seymour duncans and emgs. amazing guitars

  • i'd like a guitar like that

  • robin guitars i meant. The model is called ranger i guess.

  • You should get more info before you make affirmations about the originality of this model. I it obviously a copy of one of the Ranger guitars.

  • Actually it's modeled after a Fender P-Bass...

  • well... i want to buy the telecaster squier on avril lavigne model it's around $270 dls and i don't know what to think about it, i don't know if it's a good guitar, or if the price is ok, i really don't know... i hope you can help me.

  • go for esp dude..

buy the cheap one they sound better too..

  • I am Spanish, and I say what I mean by a translator, So sorry you?

  • I wonder if anyone's ever taken a '51 tele neck and put it on a '57 strat body and routed out for a humbucker. Of course you would also need the tuneomatic bridge to get that les paul vibe.

  • oh my god, Its excellent, this guitar is the year 1951? must cost a fortune

  • Did you even listen to what this guy said ? Apparently not.

  • retard

  • the best cheap guitar brand is j r beck the company is based in austin texas and the guitar making company in korea also makes epiphone guitars one with a floyd rose minimum price is 100 dollars

  • This was my first guitar. I stopped playing it like, three years ago. But the other day I took it to my local guitar shop and dropped in some new pickups. I put in a Gibson dirty fingers, and a Seymor Duncan tele neck pickup. Now it blows my Les Paul away.

  • Cool, those are great pickups, sure to liven up the true potential of the 51, congrats!!

  • hey cheap, i got a squire strat pack for like $300, and i was wondering if i found a '51 for 79 bucks, is it a good deal?

  • what do you think???

  • That looks really cool, I have to agree you can really find some great guitars for cheap it seems 200 is a real sweet spot just some advice 200, 400, 500 are like where you will find the best guitars for 500 and under

  • This was my first guitar. It was great for learning on but they don't even make it any more. I gave it to my brother and bought a les paul.

  • is this an electric or base guitar? is there a whammy bar

  • Noob Poser!

  • someones been playing a little too much rock band!

  • i have it, its not that bad for being cheap

  • very nice video...and interesting cheap guitar!!!

  • resembles a telecaster :D

  • I Totally agree on the cheap guitar thing.

As long as its not THAT Cheap and the specs are right and well made, Its good enugh for me :)

  • how much is it

  • im buying this used next week ( obviously used LOL).

A good guitar for me to play around while I wait for my Baja Tele to arrive from the US.

  • hey...m a beginner with electrics, and m a bit confused about which one to buy. basically m looking for something thats cheap, durable, and not specific to any one kind of music, as i like playing a bit of almost everything. the ones i've considered so far are: yamaha pac12

    samick greg bennett avion 3

    squire jagmaster

    washburn x11/16

which one would u suggest? also, can u recommend any other?

  • Squire Jagmaster, that's what I would recommend in your situation, it's got a wide variety of tones. good luck

  • Hmmm.... I can think of a bunch of guitars.

I really think you'll be happiest with an ibanez iceman (try and find an old one used, I picked mine up for just $100) or an epiphone les paul special II or the base model epiphone SG.

  • i would definatly go with the jag

  • Great video. I think im going to get my 51 a new pearl white paint job and pearl white pick guard. Do you think it would be worth getting new pick-ups? If so what would you suggest i get? Thanks.

  • I think the bridge PU could use an upgrade, personally, I'd leave it alone because the tone that come outta these things is absolutely phenomenal BUT, if I was going to change a PU it'd be the bridge.

Try a Duncan Distortion, I used one in a Rich Bich years ago and it was the best thing I coulda done. Hope this helps.

Good luck with the custom, please send pix when it's done.

  • is squier 51 a telecaster?

  • great speaker, you should have your own show

  • yamaha

  • Hey I am a beginner which one would you choose?

1.Yamaha Pac112J (Bridge humbucker, single-coil neck and center pickups)

2.Epiphone Les Paul (650R neck humbucker, 700T bridge humbucker)

3.Squire Fender Start ( Single Coiled Pickups)

  • you aren't alone, many players did the same thing as you, that's why fender started blowing them out...they're still pretty cheap, so it's not too late!

  • I came sooooo close to buying one of these, but at the time I was a firm believer in that old saying "you get what you pay". Instead I bought one of those low end yamaha's at a shop for about 50 dollars more than this one (trem bridge and extra pickup convinced me it was prolly better). I was a beginner at the time buying my first guitar and MAN do I regret getting the yamaha. Now I really wish I had gotten a '51 instead.

  • hell of a review man. I'm gonna get one. I really want a Tele sound but I also wanted to get a PRS. After seeing this I'll probably have enought to get both. Rock on

  • yes, you made a good decision, now play the frets off that guitar (let me know if you need any help, I'll teach you!)

  • i just bought one, and it should be in the mail soon. idk like n e thing but im gunna learn, mines called a squier stratocaster w/ tortoise shell pickgaurd. this is my first guitar. did i make an good desicion?

  • i also have a spider 2 line 6 amp. is this good enough to start?

  • Squier strats are very good for beginners. So are Line 6 amps too.

  • Excelente review flaco !!!

Sin duda se equivocaron cuando diseñaron esta viola. Les quedó brutal para su precio. Creo que es la mejor en la historia a un precio tan barato.

  • Squier's Jagmaster is an original design as far as I know. Cyclone sounds better though. Nice review, I'll be checking out the rest of your vids as well. Thanks.

  • You are absolutely right! These guitars have more 'bite' stock than US-made strats costing 10x and up, it's amazing but good that more people havent caught on to these

  • I don't why some people swap out the pickups on these. The stock pickups have a ton of mojo. These guitars have really got something special.

  • I'm still kicking myself for not buying one when they were $100. GEEZ!

  • do they make this cheap for the bass? like this model i no they hav one for bass but idk if they make it squir so...

  • yes Squier makes cheap basses too!

  • SWEET!

  • shot up and play

  • hey dumbass its a review

  • good spelling too.

  • dude thx for all that info...ill be checking out your site soon...and i have a squier but idk if its a 51 b/c i dont know anything about guitars

  • Cheapguitardude check out Alden guitars there hot! :)

  • I've owned a couple squires and found that they don't last. If you want the body style you just have to build or get a fender.

  • Yeah I agree i have had dozens of Squires, they all had some kind of problem, so i bought an American Deuluxe Fender

  • I love my '51!! What strings are you running during this video?

  • Hey fellow 51er, what's up? The strings are 10s, as for brand, I couldn't tell you as they were put on by the previous owner.

I'll be changing to D'Adarrio soon, probably 9 guage, but I'll see how it sounds first and may switch back to 10s.

thanks for tuning in and subscribing!

  • I wish I could find one of these.

  • check out my site which is linked on my channel page, i'll be posting info like where to find them etc.

Also check out the 51 modders forum online.
