@fulmet I think you are looking at a combination that includes a mikazuki geri, or crescent kick. The inside crescent kick is also called a hangetsu geri. This kick is often practiced in combinations or kata by kicking your own outstretched palm to provide a target and focus point for the kick.

wow , 8th dan :O , tkes years tbh , we had a 10th dan that cme to our karate to teach for a 1 off , he was amazing , wa slike 70 aswell

even though at that age u arent at ur best physical conditioning, u r extremly wise, especially shotokan karatekas

we've had a 7th dan karateka over, he was also a black belt in judo and aikido

so he was very mixed and well rounded, he practised karate already since 41 years

his power, explosiveness and knowledge though...worth gold for younger students
