I bought this album new. It was a change from the Doobie Brothers more traditional sound, yet it was a hit and so enjoyable. The jazz tune on it "South Bay Strut" is also a cool to listen to.
Cornelius was a class act. His vocal here is quite good, I must say. Check out his rendition of Drown In My Own Tears, which can be heard here on youtube. He toured with Steely Dan, too. I saw a few of the Dan's live shows, and Bumpus was a mainstay on sax for a good while. We miss him!
what a rich collaboration of voices on this cut--seemless--smooth--satisfying.

The Doobs hit #24 in Billboard, 1-10-81. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

Bumpus was a good dude. The Doobs benefited from his presence, and his vocals weren't bad at all, too. He sounds good harmonizing with Mike.

Thanks man for posting this. Not a "classic" Doobie tune, but very good nonetheless.
