All I can say is that I'm so grateful I did not grow up in those times. Yes, racism is still here and may never go away as long as it's being past down, but if racism ever does die, it's going to take more than 50 yrs to happen. Lincoln abolished slavery in 1800's, the south lost civil war, but blacks weren't treated equal or had the same freedoms as whites for many, many more years. Many whites feel like there is no racism just cuz things like this don't happen anymore, time to wake up.
