  • Sweet Shooting!

  • i wish i had a bow :( and arrows too of course

  • I like how alot of people still like old fashion bows, the compund bows and stuff are so lame, the fun part of archery is the challange trying to hit the target :3

  • thats what you call a boomerang

  • haha wat point r u using to have it bounce off balloon

  • wow that was really fast....

  • why not hold bow horizontal?

  • @lmollot cuz u touch ur self at night!

  • AMAZING! :D

  • yeah, stick and a string!!!!

your totally right, traditional is the way to go. it takes skill and determination. with tons of training, im actually better than all my freinds who shoot weird machanical monstrocities! but i still dont know how you can aim and fire so fast, it takes me 15 seconds to aim acuratly

  • totaly fake u can tell someone else shoots it and his arrow misses

  • @kleinakis ya, thats why you see the arrow comming from HIS bow

  • Holly crap are those military grade balloons you have there?

  • good video, as for me, my one dollar fiberglass bow 25 pound test,

and homemade arrows, ahead of the herd when the g men take the guns.

with the bankers driving us at high speed to the dark ages, primitive is the only option for we on the bottom of the dollar pile

    donze52

  • flu flu arrows or is he not fully drawing?

  • @brysonwilliams70 nvm i watched full vid its a flu flu

  • hey we have the same shirt!

  • nice do you have a arrow rest cut in your bow or are you shootin off the hand?

  • nice skillz

  • Good shooting bro

  • That's NOT a Longbow, it's a Flatbow!

It may be a bit long but it is flat.

If you look at my movie "Key Differences Between Longbows And Flatbows" I'll explain it.

  • @PcGenie1 I was going to post exactly that. Longbows are HUGE!.

  • I like the classic bow. Not the hyped up ones.

  • flu flu!!! arrow:D

  • @shinobi1203 Definitely not a Flu Flu. His arrows are five or six fletchings but not in a spiral like a Flu Flu arrow.

  • If he is a longbow ace... then how come he is shooting a flatbow :O

  • its still law in England, every man over the age of 14 shall practice longbow on a sunday-true. obviously no one does. English only, not scot, irish, welsh.& we are permited to shoot at the welsh sometimes by law aswell!(again no one bothers) but it is allowed.

  • good shot...but a bit arrogant.

  • Nice shooting! Alot of people do not realize how difficult this type of shooting is.

  • Wouldn't really call it a longbow :P

    More flatbow ;)

  • @emcsnipez Put up a video!

He does the same shot behind his back, try that.

There is a video of that too.

  • @emcsnipez The Dutch didn't use longbows.

  • @Antiks72

True we Dutch used flatbows :)

  • @emcsnipez before you start cutting down his archery skills, try learning to spell. Douche.

  • @emcsnipez and u are a douchebag cocksucker homo

  • nice shoots!!!!

  • You know, I could do that when I was twelve... but then I was 12 in 1962. Good shooting mate.

  • try the nintaijutsu way of shooting its aiming at feeling you wil hit it just by loooking at target even if you shoot fro mthe hip

  • i tried this trick havent shot a bow in years got on the fourth try got pretty consistant at it

  • I tryed hand throwing some coke bottles the 2 liter size and id trought them up and hit them on there way down...i threw around 15 times and hit 4 not bad for my first time..do ut hink?

  • Nice shooting I don't have a longbow yet but I find it easier to shoot my compound without the sights.

  • thats realy not that hard long bows are very forgiving i seen a guy shoot a dime out of the air with a long bow

  • only if you practice for years

  • What kind of wood is your bow made from?

  • That's pretty cool!

  • that guy is nuckin futs!

  • Makes me want to practice my archery a bit more.

  • Wow, that was pretty cool, I hadn't seen that done with a bow before...

  • why so many fletches/feathers/vains?

  • so the arrows dont go as far when you miss

  • its a flu flu arrow. it has like six oversized feathers so they slow down and you dont lose them if you miss.

  • For stabilisation i guess!

  • yeah they're called fluflu

  • Primitive bow. Composite bows are much more efficient.

  • Alot of people just wana get back to the basics.... Stick n string, i dont like modern archery with all the gizmos, sights, etc...........

  • @flintrocks ur right modern archery sucks balls! I miss a life when you needed skill not sights wires and such. archery back then was when you could train hard and have an arrow in your hand less then a second ready for the next shot when your reactions were instinctive and when the good old stick and bow pros would wip any modern day archers! now only if if people realised modern ARCHERY SUCKS!

  • @flintrocks the reason people use compounds is because they are faster, more accurate, and they are usually hunters, and the deer will suffer less if you hit it harder, and in the right spot. If you're a competative shooter, then by all means use these shitty bows

  • composite bows are more efficient, but then again a well trained babboon could efficiently shoot one. most of the time the only one that can hit anything with a primitive bow is its owner, and we like the fact that not many people can do this

  • awesome, nice video...you're very talented

  • Longbowace huh? Sure does miss a lot for an ace..

  • That looks like a Flat Bow to me!!

He is very good tho x

  • even in the slow mos you can barely make out the arrow it's so fast...excellent job. i'm so interested in archery....amazing!

  • yeah id say so

  • oh thats sweet

  • my goodness, so many flechings, ive never seen that, accurate?

  • awesome

  • "Stick and a string!"

    xD LOL

  • thats skill

  • plj[ko[k

  • what kind of draw weight you have on that?

  • is his name legolas? fuckin aimbow

  • You stole my joke! I was about to make a Legolas reference ;/

  • lol

  • what kind of wood is it made of?

  • Excellent shooting.

    Just one minor thing... ;o)

Looks more like a flatbow than a longbow to me...

  • Yeah i thought longbows were almost 6' and you dont aim the arrow from the centre of the bow. i'm far from being an expert tho.

  • In addition to that.. a true longbow is D-shaped. This one has flat limbs and hence is... a flatbow..

    My humble opinion anyway...

  • Some serious shooting tho, whatever kinda bow it is.

  • You have a big mouth even for a 12 year old. Common, you call him names after he's apologized?!

  • One word: Awsome

  • good shot, but if you miss, you aren't going to find your arrow again!

  • dude my bow looks exactly like urs, i never saw this vid, i finished my bow 2 weeks ago mine is red oak, i stained it and it has a wrapped leather handle looks exactly the same to urs

  • OMG, omg omg OMG!!!!!

  • lol? OMG!!!!!!!!

    wanna chill?

  • Good on this guy for doing what a lot of flatassed computer watchers don't have the balls or motivation to do!

So, javasurvivor, get off your butt and get a life!

Archery is all about skill and dedication. Not something you know about, obviously.

  • im only 12 years old and ive been doing archery for 3 years. im still learning but what he's doing is not an ace thats all im saying!

  • Well, good on you. My apologies, then.

  • not bad. but ur not an ace

  • Hell, I have to say the neglich army would need you back in the middle age as a longbow archer!!!!!

  • Those arrows are called flu flu arrows, and they are made primarily for small game, though they also work well for airial shots as well it seems. The arrows are easy to find with the huge fletchings and they dont go under the leaves as far. You can also take it 1 step farther and use a clawed arrow head for small game so rather than piecing it shocks small game.

  • Nice shooting tex!

  • I have that exact same bow, unless you took it from my storage shed on the big island.. Red Oak spliced at the grip, Zebra wood handle...

  • it's called FLU-FLU or somehow like this, it has more fletching on it because these arrows shall not fly over long distances, they're made for shhooting targets in the air.

You know how far an usual arrow goes when you shoot such a target, so the fluflu comes down earlier and isn't that dangerous, you'll find it easyily!!!

  • y does ur arrow have so much fletching on it?

  • Quite good, but have you seen 'LONGBOW OZ VI' ... he makes a bow in 5 minutes then shoots a dangerous critter in the bollocks. You couldn't make it up !

  • nice

  • that is mint !

  • It's ignorant to call them 'primitive' bows. They were pretty damn advanced and complicated during the time they were designed in. It's all relative.

  • a bow was used in "primitive warfare" ,so, it is a "primitive weapon". of course , WE call it primitive, but as you said :for them it was pretty advanced. it's just a classification of the weapon.

  • the big fletch slows it down so it dont got a mile lol and that aint to hard when he throws it up dat high

  • What's up with his arrows? His arrow fletchings are big. Huge! Doesn't that create more drag? As long as the arrow has jairoscopic stability, It's good to go right?

  • They are good for shooting at a target in the air. So they wont get far away.

Plus: Big fletching => arrow is straightened faster. Target is close so the loss of speed at close range is minimal.

  • they are for arial targets....and and your right they do create more drag....thats so it limits thier distance....making them easy to retrieve

  • I have a trouble with my longbow. It either goes to the left or to the right when I release, depending on which side I rest my arrow. I think there are no arrow rests on longbows. How do I...?

  • spine weight of the arrow you are using.

below applies to a right handed shooter:

constantly shoots left, you are shooting an arrow that is to heavy in spine weight.

constantly shoots right of target and you are under the proper spineweight.

  • how powerful is the long bow? can it penertrate wood shield? i know its fire power is 180lb, which is 40 lb more than asian composite bow.

  • im a fried of chris....he mentioned to me that his bow is just 55lb

  • what can you do with 55lb bow?

  • everything lol, i killed my first buck with a 53lb longbow.....goto tradgangdotcom

you will se guys that killed bigger game with much less...

it dosnt take alot to kill a nig game animal, its mostly about shot placement and a good sharp broadhead

  • around 40lb a bow becomes very effective

  • sum nice shootin' tex

  • lol at least u can shoot it lol.... me and my friends they throw something up and we hit my house then some random house then andother house!!

  • nice bro

  • flu flu

  • Good shooting there! And long time no see,

  • if the fethers are to close to the bow shelf dose that matter

  • That's a flatbow not a longbow.

  • A longbow is any bow that is a certain length. It doesnt have to be the English longbow for it to be a longbow. Flatbow would be more specific. And not all flatbows are longbows as well. The mongolian bow is both reflex and flatbow.

  • no dude he arrow has the flu flu fletching, and they fall to the ground after 100 ft

  • thats a nice bow ^^

  • dude 1:05 nice shot!

  • Lol don't miss, if so, goodbye arrow XD

  • i could do that with a potato sling cos i'm Irish so i am.

  • whats that got to do with anmythin? im irish too

  • I'm not sure that you are Irish or u'd probly get that I'm being sarcastic...

  • i could do that with a laser sighted baloonseeking smart rocket, because i'm a frog, and frogs are naturals at using nuclear weapons.

  • Damn frogs - frogs killed my mother before I was concieved - she was hot-air balooning over Switzerland on a scouting mission for the Soviets cos they wanted to steal the snow to make icecream for the citizens of Moscow on a particularly hot summer in '63. Just nuked out of the sky by a pack of neocon frogs.

  • hahaha :D:D

    nice story :D

  • she croaked it

  • either he is living in the wrong time line or he is related to robin hood

  • longbows are more classical than the new composite bows

thats why i like longbows :P

  • who knows what string i can use for a bow i mean i wanna make one but i dont know what string to use rubberbands sucks

  • Before any up themselves people try and show off their knoledge of archery i thought id give a comment =D its actualy the bow than bends, not the string. So find a bendy peice of wood and then get any kind of strong string.

  • don't use nylon string. No matter what the strength is, it breaks down in sunlight and becomes very brittle. A breaking bowstring is very dangerous

  • What you say about Nylon strings is true, Koriofkonigun. I have experience with a breaking one. Luckily it was on my crossbow, and not on my longbow.

  • what is around the balloon, duck tape

  • English longbows The original draw forces of examples from the Mary Rose were typically estimated at 706--804 N (160--180 lbf from there size and lentgh .THATS A big man that shoots a 1701bf bow let me tell ya

  • Your really good and have an awsome bow! where can i get 1 like that? i like recurves i dont shoot compounds.

  • you can make them out.........typicaly a good hardwood like oak elm or yew......

  • archery is fun i used to play around with my freinds little cheap bow haha but what ever

  • Oak( several good species such as red oak, white, pin, swamp ect, elm(several species) ,hickory, osage.... and about a thousand more lol... Stickbows Bowyers den, Primitive archer forums (magazine) paleoplanet are all good places to learn how to make a selfbow

Ariel archery is very popular and has been for along time, its good practice for shooting birds while hunting..obviously

  • Wow, your really good. I do archery, and im not nearly as good as you haha. Thats really cool how you throw the balloon into the air and shoot at it, did you come up with that yourself??

  • Yes he came up with it himself . . . I shot and edited the video. Check more of his videos by searching for "Longbowace" that is his You Tube and My Space ID.

Practice! start with rolling a ball and shooting

  • I will be sure and look him up:D oh ok, thanks! I will try that!

  • BUT HOW??!!

  • Either i hold my bow the wrong way(most likely), or he holds the arrow on the wrong side of the bow, can anyone answer that for me? I'm right handed and the arrow goes on the left side for me.

  • Look again!

  • Very cool man!!!!

  • Outstanding shooting, Sir! I guess the definition of a "longbow" varies, but I'd describe your bow as a flatbow, instead of the D-sectioned longbows I own and use.

At least it ain't a recurve, huh? :)

What is the "brand" of your bow? Commercial or privately handmade?

  • Nothing primitive about it...

  • big flights!

  • I attend a camp called camp lincoln once a year for a month. each year I try to choose one thing I improve at at the camp. Last year I chose archery. I advanced through the ranks of 15yds, 20yds, 30yds, 40yds, and 50yds at fifty yards you get 6 arrows to score a certain amount of points. now, idk if it is a big deal but I scored a 59 out of 60 with 6 arrows. (bulls eye = 10 points) I received the highest award at camp lincoln (american archer) It was fun stuff. (with a long bow)

  • that is pretty good, considering i was in a competition were people had 4 sets of 4 arrows to score a total of 135 out of 160, most scored around 136 137, i scored 156, so ar 50yards thats pretty damn good.

  • whoa, thats pretty pimpin'

  • Thanks for posting, you have given me a fun idea for when my club next meets!

  • Thanks tonnes for using a proper bow!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ate those ones with all that crap hanging of it!

  • got to agree with ya

  • Were they tasty and delicious?

  • thats insane! what a shot that guy is. the name fits him perfectly

  • Home made? Nice shooting, how long have you been using a longbow?

And what kind of arrows are those

  • The arrows are called Flu-Flu.

    I started as a child . . . but I shot the video.

Longbowace does the archery. His You Tube identity is Longbowace . . . do a search . . .

  • flu-flu arrows are nice because those fletchings create more drag than standard target arrows. So even though he shoots at that angle, they're not going to fly terribly far if he were to miss (probably not much more than 150 feet), and they're easy to spot sticking up in the ground.

  • Sorry - I was looking for a 'Longbow oz' video.

  • You're really good.

  • At first I thought he was shooting one of those Pogoballs that were around in the80's :)

  • oobergooberkc, selfbows look lightweight and very poorly made, but they work just like recurve bows

  • Walking a mile to retrieve a miss will get you good quick, huh?

  • he never had to retrieve his misses idiot lol.

  • i can't believe I'm replying to this but you figure he must have missed at least once in the past doing this - like, dur, idiot lol

  • u can do so much with a bow, what if we gave u a bolt action rifle?

  • Yes, self bow means it is a one piece bow. the English longbows of 13th-16th century were all self bows.

  • I could do that i just choose not to

  • Check out his behind the back aerial self thrown shots. Another coming video will have him spinning a basketball on his right hand and foot shooting an aerial with his left.

  • does self bow mean it is made out of one piece of wood?

  • Primitive bow has no shelf to rest the arrow on . . . He did make it himself.

  • it means its homemade

  • I favorited it
