@jouruji Its extremely powerful and pretty dang heavy. Start out on something smaller (like a 600 or smaller.) The V-Max rocks out with a 1700cc engine that makes nearly 200hp and is most defiantly not a good beginner bike.
@TheoneGodfather too heavy and too much power for your first bike. I cannot say that is a bad price. It is a great deal if it's in good condition with those miles but 140ish HP and easily over 530lbs is a bit too much for a first. If you are looking to make money off it..consider buying and reselling.

One thing I quite dislike in the Vmax is it's engine temperature which literally kills the sperm's in my balls. I can't even drive it with shorts and sandals!
Did not mention anything about handling, cornering, seating position, wind factor after 60mph. I mean come on. This is supposed to be a *review* of the bike.
thegeneration 1 maxes scoops arent plastic like the surf boy said either they were aluminum also. just for show though didnt actually get any air from them
The B-King is awesome, it's does everything better and is the overall better bike, but it will never give u the fell and exclusivity of the Max. Having a Max is like having a tiger for a pet, u can never relax, u must be always in total control or it will kill u! And that is what makes it so special.

V65 well that Honda is pretty awesome ;-) I haven't had the change to ride it but heard good things. The main thing is enjoying the ride and like you said "Gotta try one to truly understand" as some people think one is a bit bunkers.
First statement "it has adequate power" than states "has mountains of power" ?? WTF? Doing a burnout on a bike for what purpose? This review is definitely a 'miss' for motorcycledotcom!
@bademployee BS. The VMax is and always has been about acceleration that pushes your eyes against the back of your skull. Burnouts are for... well, just for fun. LOL Keep having fun. If you're old enough to comment on the original VMax, you're allright.

This has to be the most rediculous review I have ever seen. A really sad individual this one. Burnoutking? Agree completly with dnerhebehrend. The worst review I have ever seen, if you can call it that at all.
Goes from 100mph to dead in a split second. I hope whom ever buys these will think before they twist the throttle. But unfortunately that isn't always the case.
I am one of the lucky few people who have had the priveledge of riding a VMAX. Ive ridden EVERY kind of motorcycle, and every year. This bike is hands down SCARY ! If you want raw dead head power that will rip you off the seat, the 09 VMAX will scare the hell out of you.....
Just so you guys know, I passed my test at 17 and have had nothing but sports bikes since. Im now nearly 20 and ride a ZX6R-G2 and Ive never had an accident in my life, yet I can keep up with most (including my mechanic who is very experienced). "Rice Rocket" riders arnt all retards, douchebag.
@MrKing1961: Right On! I agree 100%. I don't think kids should get a mc license until they're 25+. Too many good people are dying on bikes!!! The rest of us are stuck with the assholes in cages.
fuck im 17 and i ride a honda shadow spirit 750 and i always drive safely. its retards that get rice rockets and think thier a professional racer and end up get fucked up
I am old school, had the 85 Vmax in 1985 & 86 in 86. I had a motto on my plate, "Nothing comes close", and i honestly can tell you nothing did. Loved the Candy apple red 85. Also, the scoops where not plastic on either one.
At the time the dealers like Ted Evens in LA were dumping them for $4.235 brand new in the box because they were killers!
Ridding a Vmax was a true pleasure, a loaded gun with hammer pulled back.
Not a boy bike, Not a man's bike, a man's man bike with Persian attitude.
I've always loved the Vmax for standing out and doing things most cruisers cannot do, beat liter sport bikes. But to @rashee29 unless you will be taking safety and riding courses there is noway I would recommend this bike as a first bike. I've seen a lot of riders where I live (San Diego) die when they buy a GSXR or CBR 1000 as their first bike, Way too easy to lose it on a mountain road. Heck a friend of mine has a Ninja 250 as his first bike and he handles corners like a pro.
Look Man, when the V-max first came out, you couldn't even get insurance on this bike because they KNEW it was a drag bike !
In fact, this bike has killed more Marines at Camp Pendleton than any war ever did !!
Burnout's HELL YEAH,....that's why at a Stop light any Harley rider shitits his diaper.
It's all about off the line torque...and YES , it is, and will ALWAYS be a DRAG bike,....that's why there is NO Rubber on the back tire. end of story.
@dnerhebehrend you dumbfuck, it's a vmax, and it's 200 hp. it corners like a champ, and he even stated that he would smoke a gsxr on it..haha..that pretty much describes it. it's a VMAX. if you rode one you'd understand. you just can't afford one so you like to complain, along with all the other noobs that thumbed up your whiny jewish comment. i thought this was an excellent review. quick and to the point. if you want to know the weight, look up the tech specs, you faggot
@dnerhebehrend i bet your from yorup, you whiny brit-fag. what a stupid screen name you have!! if u say it real fast it sounds like "da nerd he inbred", or downer he be bend over. you brit-fag go ride your moped to the cafe and have some tea and crumpets while your yoropeean boyfriend bends u over and fucks your ass you poor schmuck
@dnerhebehrend hey, you idiot, before you start tossin' around five dollar words, learn to spell the 1 dollar words first. you fucking stupid piece of euro-trash.
@ryanm21588 You call him a dumbass? Man, you're the dumbass here. He just means overal American reviews are bad because they only talk about useless stuff, and European reviewers don't. Where did you got to school? Damn...
Then my advice would be that yeah a 500 would be a great starter bike but take it out in a parking lot or side street for the first time and get a feel for it b4 u take it on the road and A MUST is a helmet, you will take a few spills, its a part of learning, and most importantly DO NOT GET COCKY, this is when you will wipe out. Get a feel for the bike and its brakes, any tips you need jus holla! Deuces! Have fun!
@rasheed29 i wrote a big message but utube ddnt display it...if you are a responsible sensible type and not in a hurry to be fast buy it. Its a motorbike not a wild horse. But just wear the gear and get used to the power and cornering slowly. Fear will get you but not confident caution.
Vmax as your first bike ?? well, you'll find some handling issues. i suggest to have a 650 dragstar to start with. One you have enough confidence to go for a "FULL PACKAGE", then climb on a V-max.
I see what you mean. The other idea might be for V-Max to do what Suzuki dod to the new HBusa. They introduced 3 modes A B and C for riding styles. This in a VMAX would be great.
You need to get very familiar with bikes before you get a bike with 200 hp. if you are 30 years + take a chance but please be safe, God bless you all.!!!
hay man, i am 5'9 , and my first bike was vmax and so far i don't have any problem and i am even thing to get the new one , if you be care full nothing will happen . it all about how crazy tou are. buy it and enjoy it.
I have been driving for 20 years before I also took up riding 4 years ago, and now I ride both Magna 750 and X4 (1,300cc), which was Honda's answer to the previous VMax.
From my personal experience with the more friendly X4, I would NEVER recommend it to any beginner motorcyclist. And since this new VMax is even more powerful than the previous one, it would be even harder to control. I'd definitely not suggest you to start your biking life with it - start with something easier.
Not the old VMax, I know when it came out.. I have 2 of them an 89 and a 2003.. Im talking about the NEW one. The ghetto is claiming alot of newer bikes.. just wondering if this one will become the new "Busa" disaster..
the Old Vmax handles pretty good for what it is. I ride the shit out the ones i own. They dont handle like my GSXR750, but still better than any cruiser!
This bike handle much nicer then the old ones,I justo owne a 85,99,03 this bike whare very good but the new one is a real plasure to drive, my friend has a 2009,I just drove home a 2010,and I love thes bike, the best!!!!!!!!!!

If you are looking to make money off it..consider buying and reselling.

I owned a brand new V-Max in 2000..
Awesome machine..V-Boost is sick.
I sold it was because it handled badly...
It was top heavy and couldnt corner ..You sit in an upright position on this bike , and at speed you get nailed with wind.
Its a drag bike.

I have a friend that had a V Max. It would only go
179 M.P.H. so he got rid of it and bought a bike that would go 186 M.P.H.

so where,s the numbers? if the reviewer spent as much time on the bike as he did with his hairstyle we might have clue-
by the way this chic ' EVELYN' at BONNEVILLE- got 168 MPH out of a box stock one of these.
give me a gsx 1100 EFE anytime tho'

It's all about off the line torque...and YES , it is, and will ALWAYS be a DRAG bike,....that's why there is NO Rubber on the back tire. end of story.

why are you talking about burnouts?
who cares about being the "burnoutking"?
No european review would talk about something as senseless as burnouts.
What about brakes? Acceleraion? Nm? Weight?, Handleability?
Really bad "review/test"

bulldog01209 1 year ago
@dnerhebehrend you dumbfuck, it's a vmax, and it's 200 hp. it corners like a champ, and he even stated that he would smoke a gsxr on it..haha..that pretty much describes it. it's a VMAX. if you rode one you'd understand. you just can't afford one so you like to complain, along with all the other noobs that thumbed up your whiny jewish comment. i thought this was an excellent review. quick and to the point. if you want to know the weight, look up the tech specs, you faggot

I need some one who is a real experienced biker to let me know if he would recommend me to buy the Vmax. by the way im not experienced and beginner.
Thank you
rasheed29 2 years ago
Hell nah bro, WAY too much bike for a beginner. Start with a 500 or 750, have you ridden b4 at all?
jamesff151 2 years ago
@jamesff151
no bro! i never drove any bike. I just got my driving license.
What do you think of the Suzuki GS500?
rasheed29 2 years ago
Then my advice would be that yeah a 500 would be a great starter bike but take it out in a parking lot or side street for the first time and get a feel for it b4 u take it on the road and A MUST is a helmet, you will take a few spills, its a part of learning, and most importantly DO NOT GET COCKY, this is when you will wipe out. Get a feel for the bike and its brakes, any tips you need jus holla! Deuces! Have fun!
jamesff151 2 years ago
@rasheed29 go for it, just take it slow to start with. where are you from and how tall are you?
RafaeINadal 2 years ago
@RafaeINadal
thank you bro for responding.
Im from Jordan and I live in Dubai.
Im 6'5 feet and weight 100Kg
the Vmax will be my first bike ever, some people advised me to start with a small bike, and they have warned me from the Vmax. what you think?
rasheed29 2 years ago
@rasheed29 i wrote a big message but utube ddnt display it...if you are a responsible sensible type and not in a hurry to be fast buy it. Its a motorbike not a wild horse. But just wear the gear and get used to the power and cornering slowly. Fear will get you but not confident caution.
RafaeINadal 2 years ago
Vmax as your first bike ?? well, you'll find some handling issues. i suggest to have a 650 dragstar to start with. One you have enough confidence to go for a "FULL PACKAGE", then climb on a V-max.
ride safe.

I see what you mean. The other idea might be for V-Max to do what Suzuki dod to the new HBusa. They introduced 3 modes A B and C for riding styles. This in a VMAX would be great.
RafaeINadal 2 years ago
DO NOT start out with a V-Max. It is a very powerful bike that you are not ready for yet. Nothing against you.

@echo4Texas
Thank you bro, how long it will take from me to be ready for Vmax?
thank you for your reply
rasheed29 2 years ago
Rasheed, I commented to your page.

You need to get very familiar with bikes before you get a bike with 200 hp. if you are 30 years + take a chance but please be safe, God bless you all.!!!
MrKing1961 2 years ago 2

please B safe eny bike can be denger.
MrKing1961 2 years ago 27
@MrKing1961 Learn how to spell "rider" :))
stefmayster 1 year ago
@rasheed29

How long before the ghetto takes over this bike like it did to the Busa?
SwingingDickOfDoom 2 years ago
Well, they've been out a hell of alot longer than "busa's" soooo, never.
THERexKramer 2 years ago
Not the old VMax, I know when it came out.. I have 2 of them an 89 and a 2003.. Im talking about the NEW one. The ghetto is claiming alot of newer bikes.. just wondering if this one will become the new "Busa" disaster..
the Old Vmax handles pretty good for what it is. I ride the shit out the ones i own. They dont handle like my GSXR750, but still better than any cruiser!
SwingingDickOfDoom 2 years ago
Oh ok. I know what you mean man, I hope not, this one will hopefully be too pricey for that to happen.
THERexKramer 2 years ago
This bike handle much nicer then the old ones,I justo owne a 85,99,03 this bike whare very good but the new one is a real plasure to drive, my friend has a 2009,I just drove home a 2010,and I love thes bike, the best!!!!!!!!!!
