  • i love mika very much....really

but he isn't Freddie,,,,,,,n he'll never be.....Freddie mercury is beyond comparison,he is incomparable, the history fails to give birth to a person that could just have 1% of his talent....

+ mika shouldn't accept to sing such great classic!!he should know the potential of his voice ..n he shouldn't sing this hit without even knowing the lyrics!!!....n to me this is weird actually THIS IS A QUEEN CLASSIC..come on..everyone knows the lyrics..FREDDIE....we miss u

  • Well, he is not Freddie, but he isnt bad.

  • nice, slightly nice.

  • very bad

  • Freddie was camp yet extremely masculine at the same time. He inspired many bands to come later down the line. He was charasmatic. Plus he installed pride in being British.

Comparing them is an insult, that would be like comparing Justin Beiber to Elvis because they're both solo artist and popular.

Mika is BORING and a fairy....hence why he doesn't do well in the charts!

  • Pappa, parapappapaa

  • Freddy es unico, pero es un buen homenaje, solo es eso un homenaje nada mas...

  • Worst version ever. Mercury is UNIQUE

  • take it away audience I forgot the song

  • i just love Mika! oviously you cant compare a great singer to another, because that would be a points less or more to the counterpart...haha

You just have to go with it and love them both!! mika and queen are awesome <3 mika est mignon! (sorry if it's spelled wrong im starting to learn french) <3<3<3

  • He sounds ALOT like Freddie!!

  • What The Heeeeeeell?!?!?!?! Oh My Freddie...

  • J'aime mieux Freddie...

  • Casi me gusta el tributo

  • for a second, i thought it was Freddie :p

  • WTF

  • miKA Had a lot of potential but he ruined his second CD with his overinflated childish ego and infantile smugness. I loved the first cd, mika YOU SUCK for letting fame dictate the terms of the 2nd one.

  • he MUST sing the full song

  • WTF was that ???? XD

  • @jokkergar

    That was Mika, my friend!

  • how can you guys compare Mika with Freddie? Mika is not a genious..good lord. His voice is thin and too high like a girl's. He makes Freddie look very masculine...LOL. Freddie did not need to resort to falsettos in all of his songs like this guy.

  • @funkblue2 Other people have compared Mika to Freddie, not his fans. We get it, you like Freddie but we like Mika. Mika was ASKED to sing this because they compare him so much to Freddie. Mika is a very shy and timid man, he's modest and does not even believe he has anything on Freddie. You should research before you attempt to insult Mika.

  • they should have a mika/freddie duet made from this song.

  • De Queen que de Mika!

    QueenRocks!!!!

  • @MsMamapapa Es mika cantando.

  • @PersonNo1 Pero nada que ver con la version de Queen!

Para los fans de Queen es una decepcion, aguante Freddie LOCO!!!

  • Damn, i so want him to do this.

  • Mika has the potential to make some kick-ass covers, and as a fan of Queen, I hope he will attempt a proper one (i.e. the whole song with some rehearsal, not a spontaneus 30 sec. sample).

I feel that him covering Queen would be a statement of respect and admiration and NOT one of "look at how great I am, I can do this better"

  • @JIJICA100

No one can do Queen better than Freddy Mercury. Not even Mika, and that's saying something because he's AMAZING! He's the best artist alive at the moment, if you ask me. Oh wait...Paul McCartney's still alive...and Ringo Starr, and the other three members of Queen...okay, he's ALMOST the best artist alive!

  • @Cereghini Hmmm, you are leaving out a lot of other stars lol.

  • @karmaofgood

I don't think so. In my opinion, Mika IS the greatest artist still living, next to the ones I listed.

  • @karmaofgood

I don't think so. In my opinion, Mika IS the greatest artist still living, next to the ones I listed.

  • @Cereghini Leaving out opinion, including mine I still think you are leaving out a lot of other stars.

  • @karmaofgood

Meh. You're entitled to think that. But give me a list of who you think is better, and I'll see if I agree with you.

  • @Cereghini Hmmm, Mike Patton, Maynard, Chris Cornell, Gregg Rollie (Journey), James Young (Styx). While that coud be said as an opinion, a lot of those have better range, and personally I don't hear Mika holding a lot of notes. And looking up some of the live videos I don't really hear him hold notes at all. He also seems out of breath a lot. But yeah generally speaking technically, he doesn't hold. Other wise it's all opinion.

  • @karmaofgood

He does hold, trust me. Look at the first note of Relax. Now THAT is an impressiove note, and considering how high he goes there, I think that it's even more impressive that he can hold it for as long as he does. I'm a girl, and I can't go that high.

No, you're right. You can't debate on opinions because they aren't necessarily based on fact. Was Freddie actually the best singer to ever live? Is Mika the best singer currently living? That's all a matter of opinion.

  • @Cereghini The note is not very long, and considering it's in his range of vocals, it isn't that high. Well it is, but, it's like a tenor going very low. It's expected. And he was singing from his throat, if he doesn't stop, he will hurt himself. And I am talking about technical skill, which isn't an opinion. Technically Pavarotti is the best singer to ever live. As far as people know. He can reach 8 octives of sound. But my basis isn't on that.

  • @Cereghini It's on the basis of skill of people who are better than Mika technically.

  • @karmaofgood

Yes, I know what you base your opinion on. I base my opinion on his heart as a musician though, and on his creativity. He has that spark. Know what I mean? There's just something special about him that I absolutely love.

  • @Cereghini No see, I am not basing it as an opinion, it is a fact that there is a technical level of skill that it takes to sing his songs and other people singing the songs they sing. And mind you I don't dislike Mika. I agree, that he has couple of good songs. Not my cup of orange juice, but there is a couple of songs.

  • @karmaofgood

I think that he has that skill. That, plus the spark I was talking about. He is special to me. Very much so.

Anyways, to drop the more serious attitude, I've never heard the expression "not my cup of orange juice" before. That made me laugh a bit.

Oh man, I was watching this interview with Brian May, and he sounds like a really smart and nice guy. He was talking a lot about Freddie, and about how much energy the guy had. I can understand that. I've seen live footage of Queen.

  • @Cereghini Haha I don't like tea or joe, so I had to improvise. And I was too young to really like queen when he died, kind of wish I was.

  • @karmaofgood

I'm 21 this year, and Freddie died a year after I was born, but my dad was a DJ when I was younger, so I've been heavily exposed to music for my entire life. He likes Queen, and the Beatles, and a lot of the other bands I like. I found Mika on my own though. It's weird, because I remember laughing at his high voice at first, but then I starter to admire what he could do with his voice, and the rest (oh how cliche) is history.

  • @Cereghini Well I am 20, and I don't know why I like the music I do. Some of the stuff I listen to is extremely light, and some of it crazy hard rock. And I am talking System of a Down type stuff. And I remember listening to Mika with a friend, and we would laugh at it. I still do, but it's because the nostalgia. And lollipop just sounds funny. I mean he is singing about love and a kid randomly starts singing about it. I mean this kid has to be too young to understand all that.

  • @karmaofgood

Then you're a lot like me. I have a very eclectic taste in music. I like anything from Mika to Black Sabbath to Depeche Mode.

The kid (his cousin Audrey) was about 11 or 12 at the time, so yes, a little bit too young still.

  • @Cereghini looking back on that comment, I made dizzying wordsmithing.

  • @Cereghini And you really can't debate on opinion. The fact is, that there are people you have never heard of, that I have heard of, or other people. Of course until they are heard of there can be a general consensus to who the best is or was. But you like Mika, alright, so he is your best singer regardless. I generally believe the best I have ever heard was Freddie Mercury. And my favorite singer is Chris Cornell.

  • I'm not gonna compare. I think that every single song he sings sounds amazing. And, of course, Queen were absolutely brilliant.

  • mika is my favourite singer and queen is my favourite band

    they are amazing

they are genius mika and freddy mercury

  • Nobody tops Freddie. In no way. But this is cute.

  • puajjj

  • Falsetto... ;)

  • He'd have done it amazingly, without question, if he had been given time to prepare. This is funny though. He's cute when he messes up. ;-)

  • if given a chance I think he could do a great cover

  • @killerqueen501 thanks for giving your honest opinion.. not.

if your honest opinion isn't nice, no one wants to hear.. k?

  • Actually, if you watch the ACTUAL video, he talks about how he doesn't want to do this cover because it's "very difficult", and he's very flattered to be asked to do it, but he feels a lot of pressure to doing it because Freddie Mercury is so amazing.

  • is the full video somewhere on youtube?

  • /watch?v=GOQ1PVWYif8

It's in French, but there are English subtitles.

The Queen part starts at 3:11.

  • nice vid, thanks.

  • @etolpygo he doesnt want to do this cover, he alwasy says that he´s not doing a queen revival, he´s just mika, he has his only music

  • igual igual.....quien diga lo contrario miente!!!!

  • fast

  • o cagau...

  • This man is so handsome!

  • as you said, he was not prepared to sing queen Ok he did'nt know the lyrics, but he SINGS A SONG BY QUEEN! he does it.

Congratuations! not easy at all to be compared to the fantastic freddie Mercury^^!!

  • This was taken from a show where he was asked to do it completely off the top of his head, so it wasn't rehearsed at all, that's why he forgets the words! :P

  • NitB92 :

    +1

  • Es impresionante, me gustaría que se aprendiera la letra para ver si podía emular a Freddie Mercury .

  • Damn, the lyrics are so f***ed up.

  • ino its because he did them off the top of his head in a tv show

  • Haha, he sings it well, but he clearly doesn't know the lyrics. Oh well, it's still amazing.
