I think people missed the point of the episode. It's not writing sitcoms off as cheesy and ridiculous and thus unbearable, it's saying that because they're cheesy and ridiculous, they help us get through the difficult moments in life. In a way, it was an homage to sitcoms. JD says, "At times like that, it's comforting to know that there's always one thing that can pick your spirits up," about sitcoms. They're defending sitcoms as a means of escapism, not tearing them down for being unrealistic.

Thats because only one Doctor can run a code. If you have 2-3 Dr's all around, the nurses cant do there thing, and people wind up getting in the way.

JD Walked away for two reasons,

1: Elliot was running the code, and he wasnt needed, and probably had work elsewhere.

2: That was JD's favorite writer , and im sure he rather not stand around and watch him die. Why not leave. Save yourself more emotional trauma.

and yes, i am in Medical School , lol.

The end where the patient goes down is extremely dramatic. Thats what I really love about scrubs, they make the transition from comedy to drama so well and sometimes so real. The way you could be sitting around and thinking happy thoughts until something really shitty comes along and jolts you back to real life.
