When he puts his hand out like that, he's trying to notion with his hand-motion "back when I was little," when he said "my dad told me about you", but Morecombe dileberately misinterpretted it-brilliantly, might I add- to make the assumption that John was referring to his dad's height; and said "Oh, ye've got a little dad, have you?"

Morecambe & Wise were very funny. Here in the states we had the Two Ronnies, Des O'Connor, Monty Python....but they all aired here (except for python) becuase of the huge success, here in NYC on WOR ch. 9, of Benny Hill!
