@robertgift looked like the guy was attempting a max performance takeoff to impress the camera guy. But rather than get off the ground before adding max power, he pulled it in at the same time he applied forward cyclic. Almost chopped the tail boom off too.
@robertgift If I remember correctly, in this incident, after landing, the passenger's bag strap got tangled up with the cyclic. The pilot took off again to get the aircraft under control.
my dear friend. In Hungary, we are not exposed to the risk that the helicopter purchase. yet we could not refuel in a salary to do it. However, if I can not keep helicopters do not sit in it. fact! This pilot is something really fucked up.
@otto63363 It`s not that easy mate! This is not a car! Probably if he had just put away gas, then he had a real, real crash! Read something about controling a helicopters Cyclic, and then say idiot again ... but probably to yourself! ;-
@thepiarno what the fuck are you talking about put away gas? this was all pilot error with situational awareness. your the idiot! learn how to write a real fuckin sentence so people understand what your saying you might not look like such an IDIOT

@TheCcarroll12 Actually no. A passenger was trying to hop out and moved the joystick. Since it is a robinson they have 2 joysticks connected to eachother. Have a look at some photos on google images
@furian228493 He's obviously not military, you're obviously not a pilot, and why are you acting like we would be shooting at you anyway? He was a bad pilot or there was some some kind of [assenger interference. Either way, they were extremely lucky not to have a tailboom or ground strike and came SOOO close to rolling over.
@furian228493 your a fuckin idiot! your just pissed cause america would kick your ass in anything bitch. USA!!! go fuck yourself haters cause obviously every pussy ass country on this planet comes cryin to us when they cant fight for themselves every time they need our help to get a job done. sure we fuck shit up but if it werent for us this world would be to shit!
Apparently the passenger's purse strap was wrapped around the collective (as it sat in her lap) and when she pulled on the purse to exit (front door service), she pulled the collective up. A reaction of her's was to grab the cyclic (not to fly the heli, but for something to hold on to) and what you witness then is the pair of them fighting for the cyclic of the helicopter. One a pilot and the other having NO idea what's happening.
I heard this second hand but have no reason not to believe.
according to what i have investigated. the pilot made a statement saying that the passenger kicked the collective forward and the rest was the pilot trying to maintain control
@amediastintas thats weird im pretty sure the collective moves up and down and is next to your left ass cheak... unless you have a fucked up leg and a broken collective that moves forward your comment just made you look like such a dickfore! your a dumb ass learn the very basics of a helicopter before you open your mouth it'll save you form looking like a useless shit for brains
looks like a skid strike and that is a non rigid main rotor configuration. that tap put one of the blades in an out of balance condition. only way out of that is to increase main rotor RPM's then pitch colective to let enertia bring the blades back in balance.
@obamablowsme I'm sorry, I saw this and had to comment. Are you a pilot or do you just read and then misquote wikipedia. Other than the rigid variety there is semi-rigid, and fully articulated. Fully articulated is the only one that has to worry about ground resinance (which is what you are talking about with the blade being out of balance), the robinson has a semi-rigid rotor system.
@FJones9508 -ah 99% correct mr. jones-I've encountered it in a 269, (Hughs 300) and , surprise MBB 105-it smoothed out; the 300 wasn't as lucky- we had 2 skids, and a harness buckle left. Note to self-when you watch the A&P mech. boogie-it's a good time to pray. Honestly I've never flown a R22 or 44-my friends love theirs, but they just can't stand up to the abuse as a trainer
@fritzmerde The 300 is fully articulated. The BO 105 being rigid relies on blade bending so I suppose there might be a way to get the blades out of phase. Sounds more like a blade grip problem to me though. But I will admit I'm not very familiar with the rigid rotor system. The point remains that this is clearly not ground resinance and if obamablowsme would have read the description they would have seen that. Closest I've been to fully rigid is the soft-in-plane of a 407.
@fritzmerde By the way I've seen a 300 that experienced ground resinance with similar results and it was an FAA pilot that did it. You wouldn't happen to work for the Birmingham FSDO? You should read the original post by obamablowsme its humorous to say the least.
When the blades are turning, NEVER EVER let go of the cyclic... even for a second. Otherwise, you might star in one of these crazy videos.. =)) This guys is very lucky he didn't chop off his tail boom.
OK jesus christ, some people need to read up before making dumbass statements.
On touchdown after a joyflight , a passenger got ready to get out and bumped the cyclic stick foward. Apparently some people dont realise how dangerous helicopters can be. In my opinion hes lucky he didnt boom strike or mast bump. but the helicopter probably still needed some work after this.
yo helicoptors are much harder to fly then airplanes, my grandpa was a figher pilot for the usnavy flyin f22's alllll day. now hes flying private heli's pretty sick
There's an NTSB report on this one. The passenger accidently knocked the cyclic stick forward during touchdown. The pilot made an excellent recovery and did the right thing.
Goes to show how ignorant people are blaming the helicopter for crashing. HelloooOO theirs a man flying it.. The same people would put blame on a car crashing and not the driver. Clueless ignorant fools.
Yeh I agree that looks like a cyclic bump, I would think if winds were gusting from behind he would not be landing in that direction and the aircraft might have yawed to the right also due to VRS (weathercocking). It looks like calm wind conditions by the amount of control before set down that he had I don't think this was wind just a passenger bumping the cyclic and I've seen it happen even in other helicopters. Good save and very lucky.
I looks like he had his rotor loaded in a cyclic fwd position, (due to wind gust?) and he did the right thing, if you pull opposite the rotor load, you risk snapping the blades or even possibly a dynamic rollover. he dropped the collective probably, and the rotor was still loaded fwd, then pulled collective; which brought the craft clear of the ground, and allowed the load to ease; nice flying!!
I think it was a gust of wind while light on the skids. This is why you either take off or drop the collective all the way and tighten the grip. It's like sh*t or get off the pot.
you guys are something else! no profesional / comercial helicopter pilots would be stupid enough to write a comment about those videos ! WTF was he thinking?
Looks definitely to be pilot error as the stick is still controlling the heli when it gets off the ground. So the equipment seemed to be ok.
Probably a learning pilot, the mess up, and the instructor took control to lift off averting disaster.
He seemed to be attempting to land, not take off, which was unintentional and an emergency measure.
