  • hugo savinovich!!

  • Funk was way ahead if his time. No cookie cutter promos. He should be hired to work with the younger talent.

  • In my opinion, Terry Funk is giving a babyface promo here.

  • Do you realize the the tremendous BALLS this guy has to go out there and do a promo like that.??!! Terry Funk is a madman, The real Texas Rattlesnake

  • He wasn't the biggest but I sure wouldn't want to fuck with him in a bar. I don't think he was a hell of a lot different in "real life." Fucker wasn't scared of anything. He had some EPIC battles with Foley in Japan because both of them were crazy as shit.

  • I love that man! God Bless Terry Funk!

  • "Will you let me translate to the people? Wow!" LOL

  • what year was this

  • Terry Funk should've branded tha Shit out of Jose Gonzalez and paralyze him like what happened to Mr.Pogo a few years later in FMW.

  • Tasteless comes to mind. That's the damndest thing I have ever seen.

  • He kind of sounds like Sgt. Slaughter...but yeah, great promo.

  • Please somebody find the promo where Hugo comes to Funk's house and his wife answers the door and yells,"Honey, there's some fat pig out here to see you!."

  • Oink! Oink!

  • "WhattaIgottaToDo, stay out here all night?"

this is one of the best pro wrestling promo i've seen!!

  • Man, Terry Funk knew how to fire up a crowd. The guy is legit crazy as a pet 'coon as JR would say.

  • "I am a Texan, I am meaner than a rattlesnake, tougher than shoe leather, more dangerous than a hollow eyed scorpion, MIDDLE AGED AND CRAZY, BROTHER!!!" LOL I love this quote at 1:50

  • Its fun to see Terry out of control and unleashed there. Hugo doesn't know what to do with him. LOL Terry was no doubt a excellent heel talent in PR, which was quite different from what he was back then in Japan, where he was a god face. Terry was one of Carlos Colon's favorites, so Carlos booked him so many times in there in late 70's, 80's and early 90's. Anyway, Terry, good for you to have gotten out of PR alive.

  • i know that they are in PUERTO RICO punk ,it looks that you believe all this angle drama ,event when Carlos Colon write all the scripts so a stinkeydena brisk skit eater redneck en count his emotions.

  • is it carlito "carribean cools" father that Funks talking about in this video?

  • yeah

  • Yes, it is.

  • After what happened to Bruiser Brody down there id shit on puerto rico every chance i got.

  • wow the hatred get over it man is not puerto rico's fault but invader's im sure he will pay one way or another for taking brody's life but it doesnt mean that the puerto rican wrestling scene must suffer forever because of that. i dont mean to offend but your comment is out of place.

  • Ouch. Look, Brody was notorious for A) Driving promoters crazy with his pride and B) Taking control. In several of his contracts, he had creative control clauses. Wanna know where Hogan got the idea? The whole creative control thing is why Invader killed Brody. Because Brody was taking over down there in WWC.

  • WWC could have blocked him using the courts or just blackballed him. Killing Brody put a stain on the promotion that God couldn't get out.. Rot in hell,Gonzalez!

  • 100% balls 100% of the time, never trespass on the Double Cross Ranch.

  • terry funk is right texas rules and puerto rico is full of pigs

  • believe in the stupet drama this way you heat the crowd emotions and sell tickets, so a moron mobile home redneck from Stinkeydena Texas buy them.

  • there in puerto rico, so thier not going to sell any tickets to texas RETARD

  • Terry Funk the King of Hardcore! There wouldn't be the ECW/WWE hardcore style

if it wasn't for Terry. He was doing it

    WAY before it was "in".

  • too bad he turned into a shill machine instead of a decent color commentarist.all he does is give shoutouts and cheap plug non wwe stuff.

  • classicos de la lucha libre Capital sport promotion WWC

  • terry is a legend

  • Well, if you don't like "Dory," there's always "Hoss"...

  • Jesus Christ, Terry Funk is awesome.

  • For those who don't know yet, the interviewer is current WWE Spanish Announce Team Color Commentator, Hugo Savinovich. Without a doubt, the best color commentator today. You think Mike Tenay is the professor? He has NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING on Hugo.

  • Regardless, Funk helps put people over. He can be a great heel. He can really get people going.

  • Funk was one of best heel all time. The Funker.

  • What a gem of a promo, Terry Funk was so consumed and passionate in this heel turn of his that I almost disliked him! lol, what a way to make a heel a believable character!

  • Where is my green card. lmfo.

  • Terry Funk is one of the most evil men in wrestling....and thats what I love about him.I have read an article by Dutch Mantel stating how dangerous wrestling in Puerto Rico could be,the fans down there really loved wrestling and there hometown good guys.Terry had some balls putting on the heat like this. Can anyone put a date on this video??,I am gonna take a wild guess and say 1982-83.

  • This is from WWC's Aniversario 1986.

  • Thank you kindly for the info!!

  • Then in your opinion, what makes a wrestler, let a lone a heel, a belieavable, gutless character like Terry Funk has been?

  • Terry Funk still has it, the bad attitude, the aggression, mean streak, sarcasm, brutality, skill, charisma, and the hardcore attitude. Keep being aggressive. Middle aged and crazy. Don't ever change for no one Terry. If Terry was stuck in traffic, he would definintely swear and flip the bird to anyone who cut him off.

  • If you bitches have nothing to say, especially about the hardcore living legend who's middle aged and crazy, then don't waste your DAMN time you bitches. He's doing this to sell the tickets and for heel heat. Warcry, margbar and south chicago, get a life and leave Funk alone.

  • lol hes now old and crazy. like 61 or 62 now. still wrestles. yay

  • Stop hatin' on Terry. To warcry and to south chicago, he is doing this for heel heat and to sell tickets you bitches.

  • Terry Funk rules. WarCRYsnake, keep your mouth shut or I'll do it for you.

  • jrbaylor, you douche. OINK! OINK! OINK!

  • Rastaon1-STFU. LOL.

  • ...terry funk still angering people in 2007. makes me happy. PIG!!! PIG!!! PIG!!

  • WarCRYsnake -STFU Beaner! LOL

  • Terry Funk, that hick devil cowboy had no right berating the people of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is not a pig farm. I am Puerto Rican mixed with black, Chinese, Cuban, Vietnamese, West Indian, Jewish and a whole lot of things. If you don't like Puerto Rico, why even come? Whites will no longer be the majority in the United States, even outside of America in 10-20 years from now. Christopher Columbus is a devil, just like Terry Funk. Farrakhan is God.

  • dude your a douche, hes being the heel, talkin shit about the city hes in, just like any heel today, its wrestling man, get over it....farrakhan is god?..... farrakhan is a politition

  • Dry up cockforehead its called getting heat !

  • dick

  • He did it to sell tickets and make some money. Stupid mark.

  • Yes he did it to sell tickets and get heat, but not like this, stupid, otherwise, it's all good.

  • Having said that, how is what he said that much different from Nikolai Volkoff, Iron Sheik or Ivan Koloff insulting American wrestlers and fans back in the day? Is it that much different from when Christian and Edge used to make fun of fans in other states, Andy Kaufman insulted the Memphis fans during his feud with Jerry Lawler, or Rick Rude used to call fans, "fat, out of shape, (insert city or state of the venue) sweathogs?"

  • I don't think it's any different. If you're going to pick on one thing, then you have to acknowledge everything else with it, too, since it's the nature of the business no matter what.

  • kingdum, you stupid mark. South Chicago 79 is right. Pete is a dick. Don't insult a country, yes I know he did it for heat. Terry Funk is a legend no matter what.

  • First, I'm a Puerto Rican American myself and didn't take offense to it, though I understand how and why others would. I will admit, it is cheap heat and Terry Funk is better than that, but it's heat nonetheless, and when a wrestler is trying to make money in wrestling, cheap heat is better than no heat. Doesn't make it right, but that's the way it is.

  • My bad, you're right. I was out of line. Terry fudgin' Funk is the man. He even makes me laugh sometimes. I knew it'a all an act, but someone else said that he was surprised to leave Puerto Rico alive in one piece. None the less, it's heat and Terry is a skilled wrestler with aggressive style. Peace.

  • I understand and, having seen matches there, I know what you mean. Those Puerto Rican crowds were pretty crazy. In addition to the riots that have become wrestling lore, they used to sell rocks to fans outside the stadium, and fans used to throw dirty diapers and lit firecrackers at the wrestlers.

  • Damn that is insane. I remember when Sgt. Slaughter was an Iraqi sympathizer years & years back, but no incidents surprisingly occured. America beat Iraq during Desert Storm. Hulk dethroned Slaughter of the belt and several months later, Hogan won the feud 4 USA. Slaughter spoke about U.S. history, asked the fans to forgive him & the rest is history. It's just heat. Slaughter saved Hacksaw Jim Duggan from a beating & became partners.

  • Are you kidding? There were death threats for Slaughter and Adnan. The cops had to watch his house.

  • Wrestlers like Terry Funk made the fans love Carlos even more. In pro wrestling, you need real heat and, controversy to keep interest and, Terry Funk new how to get that. The fans probably loved Carlos pounding on Terry even more. You don't seem to understand what pro wrestling was all about.

  • Zrazys, you have to understand that MargBarAm got into watching wrestling very recently and I talked to MargBarAm about it. He understands it now and didn't mean anything by it. MargBarAm is not offended, so everyone, please forgive him. I even told him about the Hulk Hogan/Sgt. Slaughter feud during the Desert Storm situation. It's all an act to draw heel heat.

    (continued)

  • MargBarAm admits to being wrong. He is now a Terry Funk fan. I remember when Ravishing Rick Rude got under the fans skin by saying "fat sweat hogs (whatever city)" to the fans of a particular city.

Iron Sheik did the same thing by saying America is no good. It's only heel heat, to make it interesting and to sell tickets.

  • aggressive, mean streak, wily veteran.

  • Terry Funk is my hero

  • Terry is fckn AWESOME!

  • Great promo. Nothing in the modern wrestling landscape compares.
