I carry it on a small padded rifle bag behind the passenger seat withe the zipper undone. If a cop comes and shines a light on the car the bag is visible but not the PLR and to take it out I simply reach my hand on the bag and pull it out. Very quick. I also have a CCW.
You have NO idea how much we appreciate you putting blurbs IN the video saying what parts are what and who makes them. Add-ons can be a pain to find at times.
Hello & thanks for sharing. I was considering the same Bushnell red dot. Can you tell me if the scope is low enough to allow co-witness, allowing you to see the sights through it? Another upgrade for your pistol you may want to consider from red lion is their trigger. They work well in eliminating the flex that is sometimes felt in the stock trigger.
Thanks for the comment. The optics is low enough to allow you to see iron sights through the tube but they don't co-witness. Also the sight is only 25mm, so its kind of hard to get proper sight picture using the irons through the tube. Not impossible just hard cause the Diode inside the tube is to the bottom and obstruct part of the rear sight when looking through it.
Thanks for the pointless comment. And next time get your facts right. My Sensei says I'm still far from being a mall ninja. But you my friend are a Keyboard Commando.
Actually no. I hear some people get the bass deflector charging handle but I as you can see kept the factory one cause I don't and have not had any problem with the brass hitting my arms or my body at all. The ejection is very forceful and the rounds fall well away from the shooter weather you are right or left handed.
It is a pistol so My face does not sit nowhere near the ejection port or the rear of the gun.
So far so good. Its a small but very rugged sight. It truly fits the PLR perfectly and I was able to keep groups standing with it at around 2 inches at 50 yards. I still have to do some more work to sight it perfectly.
@zaldivarbigboy Thanks. My brother just bought a PLR-16 and he wants a red dot that isn't as expensive as an EOTech or Aimpoint, but not a complete cheap POS. That Bushnell looks like the happy medium.
@the308capital i have a tasco red dot on one of my AK47s and it is a great cheap sight. paid $40 for it new. it hold up to the recoil, has not yet come off zero. it is all aluminum body and built very well. has 11 brightness settings. only downfall i can think of is it has a 5 MOA dot, a little big, but with a lower brightness setting, the dot is pretty small. overall its great for the price, ive shot with expensive holo sights and red dots, i dont think they are worth it.
I would say its a pistol with sub rifle capabilities. The reason I say its a pistol is because it does not come with a stock but the reason I got it is cause it can give me rifle like performance which I can use from the tight spaces within a car.
Its smaller than most sub rifles and can be handle much easier too. I love this pistol. I just think its so bad ass. And the weight is not bad at all so it can be fired like a handgun with both hands on the pistol grip.
Its not out of the question, I'm currently happy with the sling setup but in the future this would make for the cheapest sbr project there is. The gun stock is only 400 add to that the 200 tax stamp and the folding collapsible stock for another 100-150 and you have a very light very reliable and very cheap sbr under 750 tops.
Looks real nice, but with a 9 inch barrel your range stopping power and accuracy are going to suffer greatly pass that 200 yard mark. I pay $990 for mine AR-15, is got only a 16 inch barrel ( wish I had a 20 inch).
The purpose of this pistol for me is a gun that is capable of acheving at least 50yrds with lethal pin point accuracy. Something with the ability to penetrate light armor and be small enough to use within a car or some close quarters.
Defenetley not a long range weapon but it will still provide better long range accuracy than your typical handgun.
I have one of these also, it is set up from the factory for long range, 100 - 150 yards. I have this set up mine with a pistol scope and it will put 2 inch groups at 150 yards no problem....
Thanks. I'm glad it was helpful to you. So far the kel tec has been great. I like the fact that is really light and easy to manuver. If you need some more info just let me know.
Actually I like all the flash myself. It looks really cool. Did you see my other video of me shooting it. Its on my videos. The flash looks sick as hell.
I don't think there is nothing that can really tame the flames on an 5.56x45 pistol so I didn't bother with a flash hider. I went with the brake cause shooting this as intended it would be all over the place so the brake makes it less prone to jump around after every shot giving me faster fallow up shots. thanks
@zaldivarbigboy Got you, I just was curious why you went with it but now I know lol. I was considering this gun also, what was the website you got it from? Sounds like you said cbnn or something... I'm looking forward to some more vids with this...
The company I got it from is called CDNN Investments.
You have to go to cdnnsports (dot) com and download the PDF catalog. They have amazing deals on firearms and accessories. The prices are what they have posted on the catalog plus 17.00 for shipping. No extras or nothing. They have amazing deals on guns. Good luck and hope to be able to upload more vids soon.
I understand you admire the flash from the gun but you are incorrect that there is nothing that can "tame the flames on an 5.56 pistol". That is because no one has really ever made a 5.56 pistol before. Because of this, Kel Tec developed their own muzzle brake/flash hider specifically because of the burning powder leaving the barrel. Go to Kel Tec's site and you will find it under PLR accesories for $26.50.
Once again. only thing that can take the flames on an AR15 style pistol is a suppressor. and the kel tec accessory your talking about is a muzzle brake only, no flash suppressing out of this unit.
The troy medieval brake works wonders on this gun, and it was also bought for its striking capabilities as well as its looks. I don't have any problem with the flash cause to the naked eye is almost impossible to see from the shooters point, now at dark its a very different story.
@sniper4usmc yeah. cabelas was the place I got the bushnell trs-25 from. Like I said I was no match for the 1600fps slugs but neither was I, LOL, It does however handle the 223 very well and once sited in it gave me a very good group at 50 yards. All in the kill zone.
