@11eric2 I don't think so, and I really doubt that. Just listen to the content of what they're teaching, and then compare it to the words written in the bible. There's your proof.
I'm shocked not for the kids altar call, but for the responses.
it may not be 'orthodox' to most of you, but can't you see what is happening in this video?...Kids are in a room at church worshipping Jesus, they are taught about God who is our Father but also our Friend who we can talk to, the kids are given an opportunity to have Jesus in their life (whether they understand it or not, it is a firs step in their journey with God).
Me & my sis did the salvation thing when we were kids. I was 5 & she was 7 @ the time. However, she doesn't even remember it, & I remember it like it was yesterday.
Let me tell you it's a good way to attract children to Jesus, then, how else can we attract them to Him? In many countries make such invitations and more particularly in children because Jesus what he wants is that I acknowledge as a friend, who is at all times when you feel that there is only you or is it only we see Jesus as the God who ask for things and not like we can trust?
Much like most modern-day evangelicals, It sounds like this women should have spent more time studying her Bible and less time preaching. What she said was completely unBiblical and its extremely sad that the invitation to Christ is given that way in so many evangelical and protestant churches today. I hear it all the time and I defiantly heard it at the Hillsong concert. It really bothers me when a preacher speaks nothing about faith and repentance yet they still give an altar call like that.
@cwaughtech so are you saying that a message about faith and repentance will bring someone to Jesus?...This altar call is an altar call for kids to respond to having Jesus in their life. repentance and faith will be meaningless to these kids, coz they won't understand. It's something they will discover in the future. Teach a child in the ways of the Lord. it doesn't say teach a child in the ways of Biblical scripture, the biblical scripture is what we learn as an adult.
@godzsoujah Who's to say, that won't come later on, in their lives?...at least the kids are taught about Jesus who Loves them and cares for them, like a best friend. Are you saying we shouldnt teach kids anything about Jesus? and wait for them to grow up to teach them about Jesus and who He is in our life?.
Altar call does not save people. The response in an altar call is part of the process in our salvation.
i think its great whats happening. Jesus does want to be our friend as well as our Lord and Saviour. He wants first place in our hearts. Children aren't stupid, they're young but they're also smart. As the other person said, God does call us to have a child-like faith. As we grow older, we complicate things too much but what a blessing to be taught this at such a young age about a relationship with God not just a set of rules to live by.
Jesus can be our best friend? ummm....has she read the response of when Joshua saw the son of man standing infront of him with a drawn sword? 'Are you my enemy or allie?' NEITHER! I am the commander of the Lord's army!' at once Joshua fell to the ground with his face down in worship of the Lord. Jesus has no sides, we're either for him or against him. And there's no middle ground Rev 3:15-16
I have thought about it, there's no mention of sin, repentance or a salvatic history with regards to what this woman is preaching. I think this calls for a 1 Corinthians 5 judgement...
@woobstoob You're right KIDS HAVE NO IDEA OF THEIR SINFULLNESS, That's why they don't need to repent, because they have no idea of it, so If they die, they'll go to heaven they don't need to 'repent'
And Who's asking them to be repentant??..She's asking them if Jesus is my best friend, a relationship with Jesus like a relationship with our parents and friends at school. So the kids are never alone and know that someone Loves them
Look at the freedom these kids have. They now know that they are saved and that God loves them so much and that they can live great christian lives. There parents must be so proud of them! I love my church, Hillsong!
He created you so he could bring Glory upon himself and for a relationship and love as well.. but the Bible doesnt say pray for him to go into your heart
This is absolutly absurd and not Christian in anyway. Jesus is not your friend he is you LORD, these people need to repent for teaching heresy and to children. This is what is wrong with the Modern Day Church, this is why the term Evangelical is a JOKE anymore. These people are going to face judgement for this non-sense.
In other words, don't worry too much about a person who mocks God's truth( mock is "to treat with contempt"). The mocker will only hate you more when you try to instruct them because they are full of "Knowledge" not Wisdom, but a person who is truly Wise will take what you have to instruct and use it to add to their understanding and wisdom and will LOVE you for it.
Here is a verse to encourage those upset by some of the harsh remarks made about this video.
"Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you. Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning."
People that haven't experienced God's love might look at this and judge it as brainwashing, but they don't realize how God is moving and how His Holy Spirit fills you when you whole heartily give your life to Him.
This is awesome. God will bless you for teaching his children about His love for us. I came to know Jesus when I was little and it has saved me from so much hurt and pain that the world throws at me, because I know that God is with me. Things can get difficult, but I run to God and He gives me peace.

A good example of how immoral Christian churches are. Christianity only exists because they indoctrinate children before they are old enough to make an informed decision about religious matters. (I wonder how long the church would last if they waited until the kids were, say, 15 before introducing them to such ideas. I suspect about one generation.)
Pity the little kid that doesn't raise their hand.
Sad to see Australia is as ate up with nut jobs as the states is. It looks like child abuse to me. What about the free will thing? Does a 4 year old have the capacity to exercise their will ? It was odd to see it referred to as being 'pass off as fact', which it is (fact). And if you would read my previous post, I'm certain you have already, I was raised Christian, staunch Christian at that...
Where did space come from, where did time come from?
Pardon, but what does that have to do with invisible sky-gods talking to you in your head? I suppose they created the elapsing of time and the expanse of elementary particles. Simplicity itself: goddidit. Elegant, but refutable.
You can not tell me where space and time came from can you?
Do you honestly believe that there was absolutely nothing? No time, no space? (try and imagine that for a sec.) And that this eteranally inert nothing exploded and produced, time, matter, and the laws of physics?
In my book it is far more logical to believe that a transcendent Creator spoke it into exsistence. To suppose that nothing preceeded everything is irrational and unscientific.
You do not believe in Darwinism because there is a lack of scientific evidence for a Creator, you believe in Darwinism because Creationism implicates you. You intuitively know that if you were to accept that there was any chance of a Creator that you would be subject to him. Believe me friend you are subject to Him whether you acknowledge Him or not.
I did not mention any specific originations, only direct parallels, and it just so happens the parallels you seek do not exist, whereas the others do, though the differences are there as well. Nonetheless the religions predating do have parallels.
That is absolutely not true. As a matter of fact I just attended a debate between Dr. James White and Dan Barker (atheist) on the very topic just this weekend. Believe me when I say that it is an absurd position.
You can watch the entire debate on Youtube. Look up James White Dan Barker debate.
That was when I was 16, 6 years ago, and I have done my best to inquire honestly about my native religion, in all honesty, to find out the things I thought I knew. About religion, about god, and about the world. Everything pointed me to doubt more and to trust in what we know without pretending our intuition is a supernatural being talking to us.
I went to camps like this and even at a time committed myself to speaking in tongues, but I could never get around how absurd and eerie it seemed. As well as unsubstantiated by scripture that is not taken out of context and misapplied to other themes and relations (like is the norm for preachers).
And the fact that you speak of 'evolution' as an "atheistic historical/theoretical science" not being a "fact" leads me to believe that you have not educated yourself on the fantastic tenets of the theory of evolution, like so many opposed to the theory
What science has done is removed the ancient myths about the world and provided demonstrable truths about the world in which we live. Science is like the 'candle in the dark', removing the once necessity of religion to explain the unknown. Evolution, for instance, is an elegant fact explaining human origin. How do I know this for sure? I suppose for the same reasons why every science branch of every University has an evolution, as well as Astronomy, Biology, Mathematics, etc. course
Christianity is not opposed to science, it is opposed to naturalism. Who founded most of the Universities in this world? Christians. Who discovered and classified most of the major fields of discovery? Christians.
Who needs a candle? Jesus the Creator is the blazing white hot illumination who told us how He did it. Unfortunately, rather than submitting to Him most end up placing their faith in the ever growing and changing "theory of the gaps", Evolution.
Jesus the creation: born of the minds of ignorant men a mere two centuries ago. There are several mythologies that predate Christianity from which we can draw exact parallels, the virgin birth during the winter solstice, wise men, wine miracle, water walking, resurrection after three days, ascension into heaven... Literally a handful of gods that were the inspiration for the mythology of the Israelis.
Don't believe everything you read on the internet. This type of argumentation might have work 100 years ago but the parallelism that you are suggesting has been thoroughly refuted. Can you tell me the supposed parellel of Mithra's resurrection? Or what about Attis' virgin birth. Please do share so we can all see how unscholastic and ahistorical this position is.
Yes I can tell you where space came from as well as where you came from. Unfortunately you ether lack the intellect or honesty to understand it. so I can't be bothered .
I'm sorry I don't mean to bother you but I did not ask you anything about space or time, I was talking to my friend larstait.
Interesting that you would spam this thread with "I can tell you where it came from." and then shout that "You can't be bothered with telling me." whilst you run away. What your actions tell me is that you truly have nothing intellectual or honest to add to this discussion.
The little girl @ 2:09 was just asking for trouble. Good thing she turned her life around at this event!
Truth is: the frontal lobe is very immature throughout adolescence. It takes years for it to mature, around age 25. The brain is susceptible to all sorts of demonstrably false assumptions about the world, and religious indoctrination is the biggest virus of them all, spreading it's roots deep as well as early on in life.
Truth is: that is why many rational parents have a problem with atheistic historical/theoretical science being taught to their children in school as if it were fact. Talk about a virus...
So there, your delusional worldview is just as bent on indoctrination.
you know the reason He created her??? Probably to get that hair straightened with a flat iron, to get a boob job, a butt job, a facial implant, a nose job , a back job to get the curve...... and then finally teach our children to get the spirit within..... oh yeah ,also to spread cristianiaty with music , might as well call it Musristianity.
oh man... her words are so inpiring, I feel the spirit within me :((((( ..... oh no wait, I guess its jut my tummy asking for food.....:))))) ..... Cristian rock , im a believer.....Music with religion, entertain them allll....... :))))
Put into context: These are not kids at a school, they are at a Hillsong convention!! It's pretty likely they get much more of this crap at home from their parents. I really feel sorry for them.
Statistically, the more "God-fearing" a society the higher the crime rate, teenage pregnancy and social inequality. (Journal of Religion and Society 2005) Religion is divisive, socially corrosive and actively promotes ignorance. Doing this to kids can only harm the future of humanity.
I certainly get your point, though as you noted earlier you'll know I disagree.
I think it is clear that when we extend your line of thinking that its logic falls to pieces. I am certain that if we searched long enough we could find something that you would agree is universally evil. And when we found it you'd have to concede that there must be an objective standard by which to measure that immorality. I am confident however that you will deflect any suggestion that I might offer.
So rather than calling rape or molestation something morally wrong we should just shrug our shoulders and say, "Hmmm, that's different."?
No. I think we all know deist, theist, or otherwise that there is a right and wrong. We all have a conscience and we all know that somethings are simply universally evil.
Pretty sure teaching kids that things are right and wrong but then teaching them that they have a get out of jail free card is the most stupid thing ever.
I find it interesting that you think it would be unfair/unjust for God to pay the price for a murderer's crimes.
There is an intuitive assumption on your part that there is such a thing as justice or good and evil. Where do you think that sense of fair and unfair comes from?
You are right I did respond and being OCD I hated the "Wha" hanging down there. : ) For some odd reason YouTube would not let me repost. I've tried about 10 times already. I will keep trying.
If you do not believe in such a thing as absolute morality then you really should have no problem with Christians "brainwashing" the weak minds of their children, right?
It is upsetting to see these children indoctrinated like this. When they are old enough they should be able to examine the facts and make their own decisions about faith. This IS child abuse.
Talk about brainwashing children. It's absolutely despicable the way children are subjected to such complete and utter rot without a shred of any sort of evidence. Makes me sick.
so jesus created us to be his friend. but we dont have a choice not to be his friend. so basically we are his slaves. this message just want me to revolt and kill jesus or die trying.
Everyone that's ever talked about this shit has pretty much said that god specifically created me, with my oh so critically thinking and analytical mind, so that I can burn in hell forever (which is most likely), OR so I can give god the little ego boost he needs.
It never ceases to amaze me how childish the christian god is.
Oh yeah, I at least need to give props because that girl isn't scaring the shit out of the kids. This is pretty bad but at least they aren't being traumatized and scared into believing this shit.
A lot of the kids aren't raising their hands. Those are the kids that ask a lot of questions, that want to learn, and they're all thinking "Uuuuh, what?" I mean, even when I was younger I thought a lot of this shit was absurd, even when I DID think I was a christian.
I didn't know weather to one star this, for the insanity that's happening, or give it five stars so that people can see the insanity and not just pass over it. People need to see how ridiculous these people are!!!
cmon guys they are kids... this is the only way that they can understand Jesus. telling kids that Jesus is there friend (which is not a false word) is a great way to get kids believing in God. This is way better than what MTV is offering them... what have you done?
Dont put God in a box.. Jesus had friends.. cmon guys... be mature... read the bible... They are Kids... this is better than what MTV gives them... At least they are getting something better than what MTV is offering them... what have you done?
I ask this out of complete sincerity, if you don't mind could you pm me your testimony or what you think the gospel is? Not going to judge, i don't know your heart. I just want to hear how you articulate it.
Jesus said that unless we repent we will all perish (Luke 13:5). It's so sad that these children were told a lie. Jesus said, "No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him and I will raise him up on the last day." (John 6:44) God gets all the glory. Amen.
don't know why people are giving klockheed such low ratings.
Dung isn't that bad of a word. The bible uses much harsher words for those who change the gospel(which has repentance in it, while the message above, though meaning well didn't talk about repentance)
Gal 1:8
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be anathema[damned].

YeshElsm 2 years ago
Yes I can tell you where space came from as well as where you came from. Unfortunately you ether lack the intellect or honesty to understand it. so I can't be bothered .
PECNCORN 2 years ago
I'm sorry I don't mean to bother you but I did not ask you anything about space or time, I was talking to my friend larstait.
Interesting that you would spam this thread with "I can tell you where it came from." and then shout that "You can't be bothered with telling me." whilst you run away. What your actions tell me is that you truly have nothing intellectual or honest to add to this discussion.

The little girl @ 2:09 was just asking for trouble. Good thing she turned her life around at this event!
Truth is: the frontal lobe is very immature throughout adolescence. It takes years for it to mature, around age 25. The brain is susceptible to all sorts of demonstrably false assumptions about the world, and religious indoctrination is the biggest virus of them all, spreading it's roots deep as well as early on in life.
larstait 2 years ago
Truth is: that is why many rational parents have a problem with atheistic historical/theoretical science being taught to their children in school as if it were fact. Talk about a virus...
So there, your delusional worldview is just as bent on indoctrination.

you know the reason He created her??? Probably to get that hair straightened with a flat iron, to get a boob job, a butt job, a facial implant, a nose job , a back job to get the curve...... and then finally teach our children to get the spirit within..... oh yeah ,also to spread cristianiaty with music , might as well call it Musristianity.

WOW, teaching kids to be friends with an adult male who has been dead for over 2000 years?
what kind of pedophile, necrophiliacs are you guys letting teach your kids?
in another 2000 years they will be saying the same thing, but instead of jesus, it will be michael jackson, the only true king.

Stephen Dawkins should start doing these conventions for kids, that'll set em straight

Did you mean Richard Dawkins? Or maybe Stephen Hawking?
YeshElsm 2 years ago
Both of them, speaking in unison over each other like the ultimate super science person...
My bad, Richard I meant
liquidv 2 years ago

YeshElsm 2 years ago
BTW, thank you for your civil tone. I respect that. Most of these debates end with the opposition degrading their language to a string of f-bombs.
It is very objectively moral of you to do so. : )
YeshElsm 2 years ago
So rather than calling rape or molestation something morally wrong we should just shrug our shoulders and say, "Hmmm, that's different."?
No. I think we all know deist, theist, or otherwise that there is a right and wrong. We all have a conscience and we all know that somethings are simply universally evil.
YeshElsm 2 years ago
Pretty sure teaching kids that things are right and wrong but then teaching them that they have a get out of jail free card is the most stupid thing ever.
Zammys0nly 2 years ago 7
I find it interesting that you think it would be unfair/unjust for God to pay the price for a murderer's crimes.
There is an intuitive assumption on your part that there is such a thing as justice or good and evil. Where do you think that sense of fair and unfair comes from?
YeshElsm 2 years ago
There, got it up for you.
YeshElsm 2 years ago
You are right I did respond and being OCD I hated the "Wha" hanging down there. : ) For some odd reason YouTube would not let me repost. I've tried about 10 times already. I will keep trying.
If you do not believe in such a thing as absolute morality then you really should have no problem with Christians "brainwashing" the weak minds of their children, right?

It is upsetting to see these children indoctrinated like this. When they are old enough they should be able to examine the facts and make their own decisions about faith. This IS child abuse.

so jesus created us to be his friend. but we dont have a choice not to be his friend. so basically we are his slaves. this message just want me to revolt and kill jesus or die trying.
chinh101 2 years ago
Everyone that's ever talked about this shit has pretty much said that god specifically created me, with my oh so critically thinking and analytical mind, so that I can burn in hell forever (which is most likely), OR so I can give god the little ego boost he needs.
It never ceases to amaze me how childish the christian god is.
IAmPhotoBucket 2 years ago
Oh yeah, I at least need to give props because that girl isn't scaring the shit out of the kids. This is pretty bad but at least they aren't being traumatized and scared into believing this shit.
A lot of the kids aren't raising their hands. Those are the kids that ask a lot of questions, that want to learn, and they're all thinking "Uuuuh, what?" I mean, even when I was younger I thought a lot of this shit was absurd, even when I DID think I was a christian.
The girl is kinda hot though.

I ask this out of complete sincerity, if you don't mind could you pm me your testimony or what you think the gospel is? Not going to judge, i don't know your heart. I just want to hear how you articulate it.

Contemporary "Christian" Music is NOT evangelism.
Mass idolatry, more like.
People don't realize that there is such a thing as an Idol named Jesus -- and that would be any "Jesus" who does not fit the biblical mold to a "T".
Studier101 2 years ago
Jesus said that unless we repent we will all perish (Luke 13:5). It's so sad that these children were told a lie. Jesus said, "No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him and I will raise him up on the last day." (John 6:44) God gets all the glory. Amen.

Because it is unbiblical dung.
klockheed 3 years ago
don't know why people are giving klockheed such low ratings.
Dung isn't that bad of a word. The bible uses much harsher words for those who change the gospel(which has repentance in it, while the message above, though meaning well didn't talk about repentance)
Gal 1:8
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be anathema[damned].
just something for you guys to think about.

Thanks testnet!

Don't forget Philippians 3:8. Paul considers all things as DUNG (in the original Greek) compared to knowing Christ.
