  • En effet, j'ai vu cette formation live au théâtre de Wolfsburg/ Basse Saxe/ Allemagne- et je dois dire que the Bill Haley show was a very great succes! Tout le monde était enthousiasmé par cet hommage à Bill Haley.

  • Didn't they kind of steal this song from joe turner?

  • 2.10 - ride that bass man !!!!!!

  • Awesome: Did anyone hear the incredible lead guitar solo? That bass player balancing on his instrument was pretty cool. He also played in tune consistently.

  • thank you for this very awsome AWSOME, video, and dont worry i will make my kids understand where good music came from!!!!!

  • VERY TONIC ! I lov rocknrollll Thanks to these singers and musicians from a french man (PARI15).

  • Times when world was better.

  • Sounds more like the 1940's "be bop" than 1950's Rock music....I saw Bill Haley & the Comets in 1956....he was traveling with a multitude of other acts...so loud you couldn't hear for all the audience screaming....

  • Very well put together, bill would be so pleased,,

  • heard this in one of my favorite movies, 'Clue', i'm 13 and i love this!

  • salinas mg

  • love to hear this song..

    memories of my childhood...

memories of the good old days...

memories in the primary school in the early 70's...

  • best quiality have say.

  • GREAT GREAT BILL THE KING>

  • all information and details about anything check wiki

  • Long life Chess Records!!! Juan

  • i like the bass solo ö

    amazing song

  • I'm amazed at the quality great job

  • Hi can somebudy, tell me when Bill passed away???

  • Bill passed away Feb 9, 1981 - way too early...

    All the best,

    Joe

  • @JoeClifton before i was born i never could see the king ...

  • the year I was born 81

  • he and the Comets were a western swing band from Chester P.A., in some of their recordings you can here the western swing (cowboy) swing elements that were prominent in their rep. earlier on

  • Bill Haley's Version is good and but Big Joe Turner's Version is more clean. After all Big Joe recorded it first (Feb/1954) , Bill did not record it till (June/1954). Which was the same month Joe's version went to #1 on R&B.

  • good remake!

well the original is better, but i like it!

  • It is so nice there is a video media such as

YouTube to showcase old, classics such as

"Shake, Rattle, and Roll" which my granddad

(Jesse Stone, aka Charles Calhoun) wrote. He was a quiet man who helped start Atlantic

Records as their "music man". Please don't

point fingers at each other now. Just enjoy the genius of All the contributors who have

gone on and helped make that era one of the

greatest we have heard. Keep rockin' !

  • I love those standing basses...if I was any good at bass i would play one of those!

Great song pure Rock n Roll right there!

  • Hi, Veritaseek....I graduated from high school in 1959.......Those days were so exciting. I can remember where I was when Elvis' Don't Be Cruel came out....People don't realize how it was to go from Perry Como to Elvis almost over night......And they taught us how to spell and puncutate correctly in those days, too.

  • and he was born in london!!!.......

  • bill haley was born in michigan and alan freed was born in pennsylvania. so to whom do you refer?

  • hahaha, You've got a point ;).

  • "bill haley was born in michigan and alan freed was born in pennsylvania." Digression: And Wynonie Harris was born in Nebraska and Jimmy Preston in Pennsylvania: The influence of Southerners on the rise of rock and roll is overrated.

  • I agree....Rock n roll came together in the north.Chuck berry would of never made it in the south....he had to go to chess recoreds.Just like jimi hendrix had to go to the UK to become known.Chess recoreds and Alen freed helped Rock n roll to become known all over America.

  • This, as read on the Darabont´s script for Indy 4, was the opening sequence theme, instead of Elvis Presley´s HOUND DOG... Great Scott!!!!!!!! By the beards of Zeus!!!!!! Arroz!!!!!!!

  • tengo concierto del año 1961 de biil halley en Lima,Peru, interesados escribanme.

    es audio

  • Looks like a lot play like going on here.

  • Alan Freed, the guy whose life was completely destroyed for what goes on today a million times worse. "Madonna and Justin Timberlake are #1" Yeah, Ok, yet nobody knows anyone who bought them. Payola is so out of control today the music industry doesn`t even exist anymore. It`s a whore for money industry.

  • I COULD NOT HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER...

  • Took the words right out of my mouth. I wish I was a teenager in the 50's. Good times. Good music.

  • Haley was making rock and roll records before Chuck Berry or Elvis Presley was -- all in all that's not _so_ square, is it?

  • yes he is. A Louis Jordan wannabe.

  • "A Louis Jordan wannabe." There's not nearly as much connection between Jordan and Haley as some people suggest. Haley was more influenced by the 1949-1952 R&B recordings of artists who sounded more like Jimmy Preston ("Rock The Joint"), Jackie Brenston ("Rocket 88"), and the Treniers ("Rockin' Is Our Business").

  • Almost all the 50's rockers recorded shake rattle and roll which is a classic -- the worst was Fats Domino

  • The original recording of "Shake, Rattle and Roll" was by Big Joe Turner. And how come Fats Domino was the worst? Fats Domino was great

  • best go shake

  • Looks like a great show, Roland! Hope you and everyone in it have great success!

  • Fantastic video! Just a correction to Digirockben: Catarina Valente has every right be included here, considering she performed with Haley and the Comets on "Vive la Rock and Roll" in the German movie, which was also the only 1950s Haley film shot in color. And to have someone who was as big in her day as Steisand was in her's perform with a rock and roll group have the band a level of legitimacy never seen before. OTOH Haley never actually performed with Little Richard.

  • Congratulations! What a wonderful tribute to the great man. I wish you much success and hope that one day the Bill Haley Orchestra performs in the UK.

  • A greate tribute to the king of rock ,Bill Haley , Catarine Valente has nothing to do with bill haleys carrie he act in astupid german movie ,he play hot dog buddy buddy, vive la rock and roll,2 great songs.
