Whenever you do the command to transform, he jumps into the air and flies, since the G1 Megatron in this game is the exact same as the movie Megatron, but with a different 3D model.

And since the movie Megatron turns into a jet and G1 Megatron doesn't, G1 Megs simply flies in robot mode.

Sometimes, he'd leap into the air, THEN transform, and fire off a shot, but he really doesn't transform very often.

Usually, he would transform and somehow shrink into a gun small enough for Starscream (or sometimes another Transformer if no one else was around.) to shoot.

Of course, after Megatron became Galvatron, he could transform into a cannon with actual supports.

g1 megatron doesn't do the fancy martial arts stuff that takes forever to do that movie megatron does, he boxes; which gives him an advantage in an up close slugfest with an autobot. The movie guy however is able to get a much higher destruction percentage quicker than G1.

That's what I'VE been saying! First, how the hell do alien robots know Kung Fu? Secondly, robots want to do what they do while using as little energy as possible. If they engaged in hand-to-hand combat, their fighting style would look something like boxing; quick, efficient, and to the point. :P

they get everything from the "world wide web." somehow in the cartoon, they learn from humans, not the internet. there was no internet in the 80s. but it happened on the animated series again. it my opinion each robot has a different fighting style, and that includes each generation. in the movie, michael bay wanted to do all this cool slow-mo, matrix, kung fu crap because he wants try something new for the "new" audience. basically, reintroducing transformers since its been a long time.

By "core audience", I do refer to those who have been fans ever since G1, as you suggest (and how polite of you to refer to the fanbase as nicely as that instead of simply calling them "Geewunners" like everyone else. :)). This is the audience you have to appease first before you can worry about the new audience who has no idea what to expect. Like the first Spider-Man movie, there's no reason to think that something especially canonized wouldn't appeal to a new audience while treating the old.
