At 1:30 you're missing a chance to use a sutemi fall for the crank. The fall will provide the leverage. This setup is very common in aikido, called either kata ha gaeshi (aiki jujutsu) or ude garame (aikido/judo). I'm not sure if there are any videos up of the sutemi version of kata ha though, it's a very rare technique.
This move does in fact work.by twisting ones own body and with 2 arms gripping your opponents one, you apply tremendous strength against his hands. unless he outweighs you by 200 pounds the grip will break. uit is common to step towards the arm which you hold and twist while falling essentially landing (bringing him with you) beside your opponent and scrambling partial to side/back control to gain leverage.
I am not one to bad mouth any martial art or the sharing of that knowledge. However, after watching this video numerous times I have to comment on the hold. Not the kimura but the hold. Becuase unfortunately as good as that kimura is, a committed hold is not going to break that easily. The kimura is a great idea especially from standing. However, if you do not break the hold first (as that is the threat) the kimura is useless.
I cant belive this would work. I would never let go of that grip. Also, I dont see the leverage to push hard enought to open it. ALSO.. if I had that grip around someone.. instant shzaaaaa*SLAM* :P
but if ur standing.. the guy can just strike you and ull let go because he still has an arm and legs... and if hes really desperate he could just jump guard and ur lock will be let go... this is why nobodya ttempts standing kimuras..
kopsaj za spodnie bo podarlem ;/ wal jak chuj, nikt ci nie pusci jak juz zlapie typ zza plecow do suplesa, chyba ze ciota bedzie ... 169zl lezysz kurwa
This is a terrible move. He goes from a standing position to the the bottom on the ground? all the other guy has to do is hug his opponent's side (which is natural movement anyway) and scoot on top of him to get the mount. I've never seen this move being taught anywhere...
@never2twice no actually its not because my frined and i did it on each other and could get out of it and weve been doing mma for over 2 years and we showed it to our trainer and he said it was very affective!
@camaroificationable I see what you're saying and I also train MMA and since I started training I was taught to try my hardest to never be on the bottom, no matter how good you are at BJJ. Today's fighting game consists of a lot of fighters using wrestling for takedowns and ground and pound to win bouts and you try to avoid these situations as best as possible. Doing such a move involves 2 risks: possibly losing the grip and kimura AND losing an advantageous position. Different teachings I guess
@maestri88 i was going to say the language you speak has nothing to do with your intelect or level of education. then i read some more comments by @paladindarknite and realized he/she probably is pretty ignorant

@maestri88 i was going to say the language you speak has nothing to do with your intelect or level of education. then i read some more comments by @paladindarknite and realized he/she probably is pretty ignorant
@paladindarknite yeah judo is clearly the first martial art ever and never borrowed from other arts, oh wait no, judo like bjj borrowed techniques if that bothers you get your head out your ass
@paladindarknite and this is why i hate people like you.... Masahiko Kimura had an 80 pound advantage over Helio Gracie and still lasted 13 minutes in a bout with Kimura. Gracie went into the fight knowing he wouldnt defeat Kimura, he just wanted to prove that a smaller guy who practiced Gracie Jiu Jitsu can hang with a much bigger opponent in which he proved so. Kimura was so impressed that he gave him the rank of 6th Dan in Judo which is black belt status. learn your facts amigo
Keep the guy teaching these moves in your prayers, he is 28, and suffered a brain stem stroke 2 days before Christmas. He is still unable to move or talk, he just communicates through blinking eyes. Everyone keep Billy Arnold in your thoughts!
@maestri88 You should ask him if he wishes to die since recovery is highly unlikely. There are states where assisted suicide is allowed, I recommend that as his suffering is far greater than the minor happiness you get with him still being alive but imprisoned. Peace
@GregSK8Emerica, it just depends...Japanese Jiu-Jitsu is great but BJJ makes the moves better for smaller guys, creating more leverage, where weight isn't necessarily a factor just technique.
@GregSK8Emerica No, take the real grappling with Judo. Both the tachi-waza and ne-waza(which BJJ watered down and ripped off) are included, and combine that with striking such as linear like Shotokan and Tae Kwon Do, or Kyokushin Karate and Mauy Thai in terms of circular stand up. Focus on speed and being practical, and it all works out :D
@makoshark9111 falling down in a real situation can get messy. You might hit your head on concrete. Much better to take the other guy's back in this situation. Bigger guy is presumably slower. Take his back. But if all you can do is a kimura? Fine.
@itpduder ...OR, you could, um...just maybez...hmmmm, I don't know....actually HIT the guy, such as in the groin or with a back headbutt and legsweep...just saying. Judo ftw
@wiggalama Sure, a bitch move like a groin strike in a street fight would be effective. But obviously this is meant for two people in a mutual, respectful fight. If you're going for straight up effectiveness, fuck judo, why not get a tazer or a bat or some shit. Maybe some eye gouges. In organized fighting BJJ shits on judo.
@LightoftheWest7 The martial arts are about street fighting in terms of the applied physical, NOT sport. Look the bloody etimology up even. Its pointless to teach a mostly sport and bad technique move when you are use a skilled technique that works on both unconditioned and skilled fighters. P.S. In a real fight, often times you don't have a taser or a bat, but yes I am gettting my conceled handgun license...though where I can go with it is limited too :( Eye gouges are good, BJJ can have sport.
@itpduder My entire arguement was that if all you could do was the kimura, even if you where the best on Earth technique wise, it would NOT be fine. :D Its is your that fails at comprehension yound padawon learner :D To relie on one move, especially a SPORT move(unlease you do it Judo ideology, then maaaybeeez), makes you weak against a skilled and sometimes unskilled opponents :D
@Morgothhhh Yes, but there are many many many different forms and styles of jiu jitsu. Things do get lost in translation. That might be his name, but that isn't necessarily the name of the move.
@Morgothhhh It's called four different things in four different parts of the world for four different reasons. Google it before you put something out there which is completely not true.
@hidewalmartinc this is just some pathetic faggot.. who cant even attempt this move in his wet dreams.... I mean why do you come here.. when this guy is clearly trying help.. if you're excepting MMA stuff.. go rent a pay per view. these are instructional videos.. I went through these my self.. and they do work.
like i stated just sweep his leg out from the side and take the sub to the ground if your not strong enough to finish it standing, you can use leverage on the ground
this is...mehhhh
