what about DMX controll? Does it run on macros or can you select the Red Green and Blue amount for each of the 16 segments, if you can, this wood make this unit sutible for using on live performances, if it works with the moving heads and generic fixtures to enhance the mood.
You multiplex 512 (or more) channels on an xlr cable and each channel can control something for the light, so this Kam thing might use channels 1-8, 1 could control speed, 2,3,4 could be RGB (since each channel is controlled by a slider from a dmx controller)
I think that, more funny will be shittest lcd tv (chinese noname crap) + laptop. I can do same things like KAM leds + a lot of cool VJ stuff (video projections etc..) :P
An LCD screen is certainly a more versatile idea if you're going to be spending that much money. You'd need some way of storing it and mounting it though.

Nice light screens! I still use the old Fal-type light boxes from the early 80s! These would be a great replacement though!

Its quite simple, it sits infront of your dj stand facing the audience so that all your guests can see it but you can only see the back...

jokes aside... one nightclub here used to have floors that lit up similar to this... but it's been buldozed down not long ago :(
though i suppose u could have a load of these lying flat next to eachother and come kind of thick & clear perspex floor just above them.
