Hi brooklynmonk, the achenese language which is essentially Cham was written in Jawi script which is Arabic based. Of course it is gradually being romanised but people do still write in Jawi script.

I believe many Cham originally came from Vietnam since the map of the Champa Kingdom is in Vietnam. The Cham were so peaceful and I can't believe my ancestor took their land away :( I'll pray that one day they can rebuild their Kingdom again

The Vietnamese, in their southward migration, basically wiped the Champa Empire off the face of the Earth and conquered the land for themselves, killing anyone of Cham decent.

remember, we are not really chinese.

Because thousands years ago, many of groups of people has not declared to be a NATION yet, and there was 1 branch group of peole lived in the south of china, seperate themself from other groups which are under the thread of china, that is our ancestor - they decided to move to south to build their own nation, not being under the thread to china anymore like other groups. So we fight with new land's old ower who were champa's ancertors now, and we won.

Iam proud that we (vietnamese) stayed strong enough so Chinese failed to assimilated us or stole our land after more than 1000 year fighting. There are always the winner - loser, so we fought with chinese to death to keep our land and we did not accepted to be loser . But Champa - they are loser, so they lose their land.

Iam just happy and felt like stress released when the muslim i saw in this video are not really vietnamese people, or at least not Kinh people. Hope that vietnamese will follow whether buddhism or chistian or catholic whatever, but Plzzz don't follow muslim. Actually vietnamese people are smart and realistic enough to not follow muslim, so iam happy

Great Video, thanks. You claimed in this Video that "the Cham have been in Cambodia about 1000 years" which I personally do not believe so, we may need further research and verification to be able to prove this. You also said in this Video " This is always a question, How do you write the Cham language? you mentioned include: Malay Letters, Is that Latin letters anyway?

The contrast in this video is that, the interviewer (interpreter) speaks Cham, but Haji Zacharia reply pretty much in Khmer.

Glad to see our Cham-Khmers are developing well and preserving their language and culture freely in Cambodia. I am very proud of Cambodia, it is only few country in the world that Muslims and Buddhist can lively without tension.

These people have a rich history and culture, their Hindu temples still remain all over central Vietnam. Antonio you are a truly an adventurer, for giving us a window into all the world's people.
