The morning after my shoulder workouts i never feel sore which is very strange because when im working them i usually train them hard until failure, can anyone explain what im doing wrong?
v impressive - no pain no gain - good work timbah - listen are pull up variations enuf to build up wings or do i need to do other exercises, if so please type down some exercises.
I actually have a friend whose bigger than him.. He's 6'3" and does 45lb laterals, benches 400lbs, and can do 50 up-side down pull-ups ON TOP of a pull-up bar.
I have a question for you. I'm trying to get big and for the most part I'm seeing great results.... except my wrists are still tiny. Any advice on how to thicken those up?
Man i seriously wanna go out and do pull ups now at my local park XD but its 2:37am...I gotta fix this sleep!but Whats ur max pullups dude?!like in one burst! My max was 17 ontill i stopped for a while.cause of a Injure now i do 15
Lookin good man. Was wondering whether you squat or deadlift regularly? Or did you prior to building up your physique as it is now (and now you are more maintaining)? Whats your opinion on the king and queen of exercises squats and deads?
Thanks, hash. I do still do squats and squat variations regularly. Just until a few weeks ago I did box squats two to three times per week before taking a break. I don't do conventional deadlifts anymore though I still throw in sumo deads here and there though I prefer single leg stiff legged deads. On either exercises I rarely go heavy anymore either.
I'd love to get bigger. Its been a matter of joint and lower back issues that I have to think about. I think I can still gain size without lifting as heavy, it just not optimum.
@Timberwolf. You do your HIIT at the BEGINNING of your workout? Now is this at both sessions in one day? Or just one of the sessions where you work out 2x in the same day? (That's question 1). Also, What does your hiit consist of? (That's question 2). Lastly, do you end your workout w/cardio. (Obviously question 3).
Do unilateral exercises with the smaller (and I assume weaker) side first every time. Never exceed the repetitions you performed on the lagging side when doing the other side. And I've also experimented with not only doing slightly more repetitions but even an additional set or two on the lagging side. Overhead extension, single arm lying dumbbell extension and even kickbacks are unilateral exercises for the triceps you can incorporate.
I bet you look much better than him, to back up your words... Oh wait, you don't. You don't even have 1 video. How about Timba looks great, he swings just a bit, but the motion is still slow enough and controlled, he's not using momentum that much. How about, when you're training long, sometimes you gotta shock the muscle, use more weight and swing a bit, the other time you can use lightweight with perfect form. If you know what you're doing and why, it's all good. Mister judgemental
@SinisterSkip If use 35 pounds and swing, it doesn't "shock" the muscle any more than 30 pounds and not swinging. This is because swinging reduces the amount of force the muscle must produce. So, your theory is flawed...
Your theory is correct for the POSITIVE part of the rep, where you're lifting the weight up. Mine is applied to the negative part. You have an easier time with the positive part (uplift) of the rep, but when youre going down, that's where you get the extra force on the muscle with the added weight.
It's just another way to perform the rep, which can shock the muscle, if you know what you're doing. Besides this all, Timba is really not swinging THAT much.
Check some video's of Branch Warren. Now that's USELESS cheating. He just swings the weight up, using his whole torso to support the actual muscle group, and almost lets it fall down afterwards. "Look how much I can lift". That's just crap imo, at least we agree here I think.
Wasn't expecting that response. Good to see there are also open minded people on youtube that don't get over-defensive when someone disagrees :) Respect
@timbahwolf cool,,, which gym do u go to coz me i go to goodlife... nweiz mybe we should workout together sometime nd show me hw intense ur wrkout is, lol... by d way we almost have d same workoout routine i wrkout everyday too very intense wit high reps....
If I was to guess my somato type... I'd definitely say I was ecto/ meso. While I did reach 160 in my 20's, most times I was in the 150ish range until I was 30. My heaviest to date is 187lbs for a couple weeks max and it felt like a full time job just to maintain the calories to stay there. And doing anything full time is simply beneath me. ;)
what job do u hav? cause i can barley find the time to work out after work =\ Im just curious since u said that u workout 10 times per week, sometimes i regret being lazy after i finish my shift at work lol
@timbahwolf High five on the general macronutrient breakdown. I ate high protein, medium to high fat and low carb, lost a ton of weight and I've been enjoying training on the same general diet with a slightly higher carb intake from good starch sources.
Usually when on lean maintenance mode which is most of the year, I consume 200-250g protein/ 100_150g carbs/ and the rest fat to make up 2500 calories. The fat is usually around 90-100g.
Currently 10 min HIIT or 20 min LISS (low intensity steady state) at the beginning of most workouts. A couple months ago I was skipping 10-20 min at the beginiing of my workouts but sufferred plantar fasciitis on my left foot. Since then just been using recumbent bike. I rarely will ever go in to just do cardio.
what do you recommend to really feel it in the side delt. Do you flex the shoulders at the bottom when you are paused and do yu tilt the pinky up above the thumbs ?
Kane, this is unrelated to shoulder exercises but now that I've been squatting, I noticed I can't do ATG squats because my knees lack flexibility. How do I go about improving flexibility in my knees? THe only thing I can think of is stretching by sitting on both knees and trying to touch my heels with my butt, do you recommend anything else?
Immigrants need to have an extended list of vaccinations before entering Canada, the US or I assume any new country. And many ethnic groups are far more susceptible to keloid scarring than caucasians. Everyone in my family has a similar scar.
@timbahwolf sorry for doubting you, it's easy to think someone iwth your level of conditioning and size is taking something. sorry for doubting you, you must work extremely hard, and have amazing dedication.
Depending on the exercise, sets and reps. On isolation exercises, usually less. I rarely rest over 3 minutes on my heaviest sets, and usually a minute or less most times.
@aatifshakur prolly cus ur taller, this guy is short as hell, u look more ripped and buff when ur shorter cuz ur muscles are spreading out on a much smaller body

I see you are using 35bs. I use 15lbs , sometimes 12.5lbs. I feel embarassed doing it with 15 or 12.5 but its the best I can do =S I heard its okay to use low weight on these exercises if it gives u best form.
@EVILAKUMA It's okay to use lower weight on any excercise if that's the highest you can do with good form. Form over everything.. You don't want to injure your body, that'll end up being less productive than low weights anyway.
so do you do that little "cheat" (for lack of a better word) using your back to assist in getting the weights' momentum started to lower the risk of ligament injury? i've noticed that you do it all the time so it has to be on purpose, but i'm not exactly sure why.
peanut butter is bad for pre bed release meal, high fats which require an acid enzyme to break it down resulting in fast digestion, better with cottage cheese or a blend drink low fat.
