kapple, max is talking about how, in the comics, after jean, as the dark phoenix, wiped out what is basically the sun of another solar system she was killed off. The writers then brought her back in a cocoon in the X-Factor series as a way of making her innocent of the genocide the dark phoenix commited.

I'm hoping for the same thing, since it would mean an x-men 4 & would be more in line with the original canon. Hope that helps a little... and I have just realized that I am a nerd...

never been a fan of the phoenix force idea years after the original dark phoenix saga. with it being it her own power made her a more tragic character in the end and with the internal struggle of her dark side and after being tampered with by the hell fire club and when she killed herself to save everyone. so xmen 3 is alot closer to the real story line. as with all comic series there will always be different versions as we have seen with the xmen.

@pal42388 Yeah, the film was closer to the original story line than the animated versions were (although I love the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix sagas in X-Men the Animated Series) in terms of how Jean became the Phoenix in the first place. I just wish Cyclops had been in it more and that the fiery aura was there more as well.

I reakon there will be a X4, because jean grey is the phoenix. Rise from the ashes. You don't know what happened to scott summers he just lost his eyewear. professor x comes back at the end of the credits on x3 and magneto regained his magnetic powers. There will just be heaps of suprises on X4...
