We'd still think the earth's flat, or we'd have less cures for diseases. Not proving something doesn't and shouldn't mean we give up trying. I do agree about one thing, though: acting like we NOW can prove God exists is wrong and unintelligent, but so does acting like we can prove he doesn't. That's why many of my colleagues tell me they are agnostic.

The part that talks about paying for someone's drugs, I ALWAYS and still take that to mean the money we spend on things like fast food could go to pay for someone's prescription in impoverished nations. Well anyone that says Jesus didn't exist needs to do research. He did exist, there shouldn't be any questioning that. It's more the uncomprehendable side of Christ that I think he's referring to. I believe in the miracles of Christ because of how he's changed me. It's something that cant be explained fully in words, so I wont really try. But thats what makes faith so hard to believe. You have to feel it.

i know that ive been a christian my entire life and no, life has never been perfect or what i expect. But whenever something bad happens to me, I always find a way to get through it with Gods help. I dont "hear his voice" to day, but I feel his holy spirit in me always, telin me what to do and how to live. I know God loves each and everyone of us and that hes comin back to take home his followers.
I don't think it's fair to think that someone thinking of God as their hope isn't what they say it is at all. It's their feelings and their emotions, it's impossible to get across so you cant truly argue it because you haven't experienced what he experienced. but debating faith in god with someone who doesnt believe in god makes no sense, one person sees one thing, and the other sees something completely different. no matter what, people see what they see. its experiences that change perception.

The thing is this: The old testament, although I understand Romans is new testament, speaks of God's wrath on the word much more frequently than the new testament, because jesus came and embraced God's wrath, symbolized by him dying on the cross. after that, yes we were given free will. If we deny him to the day you die then it is written that you are damned to hell, as discomforting as that is to say.. but you can choose to believe in what you can't prove. that's free will.

@xboxboy40 . . .That wasn't my argument at all. What I am saying is human perception and cognition--and the means and methods of understanding they give us--are flawed. That doesn't mean I shun the world and never use them, just as much as I wouldn't believe something did not exist if all I could do is think and not smell, touch, taste, etc. Things could exist without your sensing them. A "tree" could/would exist if I never saw one. I'd just have a harder time proving it via science.

(2) I first and foremost see the Bible as literature and philosophy, not some fixed set of moral codes I want to or should force on others. (3) I have taught at a few schools now, and not one of them is a religious one (Purdue, for example), and I'm sorry, but science and the evidence shows a strong mathmatic probablity that we may not be "the only."

@xboxboy40 Another false dillema is this: if we cannot prove God, then stop believing. I am glad the scientific community didn't agree. We'd still think the earth's flat, or we'd have less cures for diseases. Not proving something doesn't and shouldn't mean we give up trying. I do agree about one thing, though: acting like we NOW can prove God exists is wrong and unintelligent, but so does acting like we can prove he doesn't. That's why many of my colleagues tell me they are agnostic.

Theologians assume there is a God and that their sacred book can lead them to the truth of the world, universe, God. Scientists assume that our senses are unflawed and can lead us to the truth of the world, universe, etc. Neither can be proven by human means. Believer or not, we start with faith...

Most educated people, most of my colleauges, believe or are agnostic. Atheism seems dead for many educated people. Ask Jesus to be your savior, and realize that he died for you. He never sinned, God put everyone's sin on Him (past, future, present), he died, and conquered sin and hell by coming back alive on Easter, and if we accept Him as our savior, we have a free pass to Heaven. 2. hey everyone. I suggest that when a hatefull atheist makes a comment on a Christian video that we treat them with love but not pay any attention to there comments as they usually consist of "you are all brainwashed idiots and your god is evil" and there is nothing to be gained in conversation. It only demonstrates to me over and over again the hate they have for God and the body of Christ. I suggest we love them as we were called to by our lord. Praise Jesus Christ. He will reign forever.

9/21/08 my child Melissa was given 1 hr to live at Columbia Presby Hosp Bx NY. Both her lungs were unable to stop bleeding.Drs said that not even a lung transplant would save her.I remember how in the supernatural God used Moses to part the red sea.So I prayed God in the supernatural power You gave Moses I ask You to close my daughter's lungs like You did to the red sea.I had a scripture in every IV bottle. There is no other one we can call on, when i was drowning in the ocean in a rip tide about 70 yard out from shore, pulled under, tired from 20 minutes fighting i found the bottom then shot up to get my only breath but then i got splashed in my lungs as i inhaled i thought this is it, i went back under thought one name JESUS then the rip stopped then started pushing meto the shore i collapsed on the shore One Name Jesus He is GOD i am a devoted swimmer but that day was the worst due to a typhoon

The part that talks about paying for someone's drugs, I ALWAYS and still take that to mean the money we spend on things like fast food could go to pay for someone's prescription in impoverished nations. Like, that $20 could go to some Christian organization to pay for a child to get meds or something. It's interesting because I've seen a tons of these videos that always depict that part to mean illegal drugs.

Well anyone that says Jesus didn't exist needs to do research. He did exist, there shouldn't be any questioning that. It's more the uncomprehendable side of Christ that I think he's referring to. I believe in the miracles of Christ because of how he's changed me. It's something that cant be explained fully in words, so I wont really try. But thats what makes faith so hard to believe. You have to feel it.

I dont "hear his voice" to day, but I feel his holy spirit in me always, telin me what to do and how to live. I don't think it's fair to think that someone thinking of God as their hope isn't what they say it is at all. It's their feelings and their emotions, it's impossible to get across so you cant truly argue it because you haven't experienced what he experienced. but debating faith in god with someone who doesnt believe in god makes no sense, one person sees one thing, and the other sees something completely different. no matter what, people see what they see. its experiences that change perception.

The thing is this: The old testament, although I understand Romans is new testament, speaks of God's wrath on the word much more frequently than the new testament, because jesus came and embraced God's wrath, symbolized by him dying on the cross. after that, yes we were given free will. If we deny him to the day you die then it is written that you are damned to hell, as discomforting as that is to say.. but you can choose to believe in what you can't prove. that's free will.

the thing is, is that i would really like to see christians to stop judging everyone. to think that everyone who does not believe in jesus will burn eternally in hell is such an ignorant way to live and i would like to see christians move past it . i may think your beliefs are silly in many ways but thats where it ends. you on the other hand believe your truth to be absolute and for not accepting it , i will burn and that my friend is rubbish

some people need a "blueprint" in order to walk the path of life. if the bible is what keeps you on track. thats great :) its just not my path and i really get sick of people saying that one way is the only way. i have read the bible, the koran, the dhammapadda, tao te ching, bhagavad gita etc...they all have great things in them about love and kindness,peace,truth...but no one of them is right and makes the others obsolete. they all hold their worth but truth is in our heart and soul.not a book

horrible things can happen to good people. sometimes it makes them stronger. sometimes a negative thing can have a positive offspring. say the woman who was raped started a victim groupe program and many women who had been abused found friendship and support. as for the ceo, his dishonest karma will turn on him eventually, maybe on his deathbed when hes all alone with no one to love him
