This was the song I always wished Buddy would perform when we gigged in his later years, which is probably among the many reasons why he didn't play it. Maybe it no longer fit with his persona. I know he wrote it sometime in the mid 80's. Back then he played it often. I don't remember recording it, but that sure sounds like my bass. Too bad he didn't leave us a version of him singing it. It really was, and still is my favorite BC song.
Martian, he DID leave a version with him singing it. I bugged him for years to record it, and finally one day he walked up to me with a cd and my name written on it. He said "Here is the instrumental, I want you to sing it" he also said, "I recorded the vocals so you could learn it, but you must promise never to play it for anyone"... lol... I am planning to make a video of it, i may put harmonies, but no one can sing it like Buddy.... never ask me to keep a secret. :p
