Barry gave us what we wanted. He entertained and excited us.So say what you want.He had a great career. So ASSume what you like.Until he gets officially caught it's only speculation. In life we all make mistakes,no one is perfect.Barry was and still is an inspiration.
@1846alexander He's about to be caught! Check out his pathetic plea to have his charges dropped. Sorry, no cigar. MLB should not even allow his record to be posted - no asterisk, no nothin'!!!!!
Henry Aaron is still the home run King. Steroids are far more advantageous for the user then the cliche "they only help you recover." Yes that as well as increasing your testosterone levels by hundreds of percent....
legitimately my ass. To quote every sports doctor, and even Hank Aaron himself...steroids help you heal, not hit the ball out of the ball park...and why isn't anyone talking about stripping or asterisking Roger "Roid Rage" Clemens of his 7 Cy Youngs, 300 wins and 4000 k's? They actually have PROOF he used steroids, they haven't found anything on Bonds except speculation. By the way, Aaron snorted cocaine and drowned himself in painkillers...does that make the record less sacred?
Some of your statements are false. At the time, Clemens was injected with some drugs that were legal and he discontinued to use them after they were made illegal. Andy Pettite says otherwise, but he doesn't have any evidence other than his memories. Unlike Clemens, Bonds continued to use certain drugs, even after they were made illegal, and the drugs he used were performance enhancing drugs. Also many varieties of pain killers are (still) legal and anyone can use them.
The current all-time Homerun leader in my mind is still Hank Aaron. The single season HR record should still belong to Roger Maris. He hit 61. The only ones that passed him were frequent steroid users McGwire, Sosa and Bonds. Amen.
i agree hank is still king to me. and barry does start to turn green when he gets that roid rage goin doesnt he lol he and giambi they are both cheaters in my book.
People in our generation will know Hank Aaron earned the home run title by hard work, dedication and good old fashioned talent. Future generations must know that Bonds cheated by simply placing that asterisk by his name so baseball fans in the future can see that Bonds cheated!
The fact that Bonds hit his HR in 2500 less at bats than Aaron doesn't matter to you? Or that Bonds hit most his HR in the hardest park to hit em while Aaron hit his in the easiest park? Or that for decades players used speed pills? Thousands of players. None of this matters? Learn your facts.
Donald is right on the money. Aaron is still the king. Aaron not only played with a pure heart and a pure body, he played through the stress of having racist bastards threaten his life for months prior to him breaking Babe's record. Long live Henry Aaron!
soo many death threats, no justice, racist people, etc. to stop him.
but did he let them get to him? NO HE DIDN'T! he ignore all that nonsense and continued until he broke Ruth's record and become the true home run king!
Ahh... Babe Ruth is STILL the Home Run King. Hammerin' Hank took more years and 2300 at bats to accomplish the same thing the Bambino did.

Why do humans even care?
We have amazing brains, but we use them to do things just above the level of animals.
We all die and then comes eternity.
