  • hey are there any plants in there that are hardy enough for firemouth cichlids?

  • what lighting fixture and bulbs did you use for that

  • I have plants to trade

  • OMG this is so gorgeous!!

  • Nice job.

  • Nice

  • Nicr

  • that is nice

  • Really beautiful... thanks for inspiring me!

  • Thats a 20 gallon

  • what kind of lighting u have? thanks

  • Nice. I'm not sure about the position of the power head it distracts you. Thanks for sharing and keep us updated.

  • What plants do best in medium light? substrate???

  • Was kinda worried it could possibly collapse,

  • Hi nice tank.

Do you have it sitting on a standard cupboard or did it come with the fish tank.

I'm in two minds when I get my 100 ltr tank to leave it on my current cupboard I got from Argos.

  • great tank. I've been keeping fish all my life so I can appreciate a good looking tank.

  • beautiful

  • nice and clean

  • hi! nice tank! plz tell me wht did u use for substrate ( sand, potting soi;, kitty litter) also when algae prob come wht do u do? plz respond i need ur help! thnks

  • hey man wht did u use for substrate? ( sadn, cat litter) thnks in advance!

ohh and how did u plant little grass like tht? is there seed u can buy or somthing?

  • Dude, this tank is sick, The black sand really sets it off

  • How do you keep the algae off the glass??? My tank always gets covered in it!!!

  • @bigart1993 You might be using the wrong spectrum light.

  • I love your tank, you should check out my latest update on my tropical planted aquarium.

  • this is a noob question. but when using sand substrate, do you need a separate substrate especially for the plants? thanks

  • what do you call the plants in the middle of this tank? and can you please post an update of the new look! im subd and please sub back and chck my video

  • how did you clean the 3m colorquartz sand? i've been trying to wash mine for the longest time and it's still dirty

  • how long did it take you to clean the 3m colorquartz. i have black S version and i keep getting an oily substance at the top and black residue on the sides of the glass

  • Are you not using a cover on your tank

    ?

  • Haha I was watching The Nanny while watching this vid and noticed that it was on in this video as well :] what a coincidence

  • I have had most these fish for 5+ years and they are still alive, what do you want to hear? You think they all been living in my tank for 30 years?

  • Just to give a idea, the value of my 29 gallon tank was about $1,000 with everything, sold it all for $700 including all the other fish things like fertilizers and testing stuff. Some plants I had grew 2" per day and some just grew too big to fast. Tiger lily grew 10 large leaves the size of my hand in 1 month and over crowded the tank. If you want to go high tech, get slow growing plants, they will still grow fast and get a bigger tank! The layout style of my tank I changed every 2 months..

  • Thank you for all the nice comments. I have got out of the hobby and I am now at piece. To much work to keep a fish tank going and now it's time for me to relax. I spent 7+ years in the hobby and it has now come to a end. Everything you see in this tank was upgraded after the video was made with all new all black equiptment not shown in this video. Even the Co2 tubing was black, hehe.. Anyway, the hobby was a good experience and I thank you for your comments.

  • must be hard to clean it when its dirty dont you think cause of the plants?

  • It doesn't get dirty because of the sand and the setup I have running my tank.

  • I envy you.

  • Could i ask you some question. How to keep your plants health without moss growing over the leaf? my tank about 40g and i have Co2 system with 156watts of light but i don't know why, all my leaf of plants had moss growing over the leaf . Your plants so nice and healhty, no moss growing on the leaf. Are you using any medical of plants to make the moss can't growing on the leaf? or the water cloud to make the moss growing on the leaf or the light too hight t? Please help me. Thanks

  • I think your moss on your leaf is caused mainly because you might have too much light in your aquarium. 80-90 watts is more than enough to grow anything in your aquarium size. There is so much light in your aquarium that your plants cant use it all so algae starts to grow instead. How many bulbs and what wattage does your tank have?

  • Maybe you turned on your light too long...

  • could be 100 different reason why. I don't know anything about your tank and no one else does either. Best thing to do is learn as much as you can so you can answer your own questions.

  • were did you get your plants?

  • that looks great!

  • how do you search the dead fish in under those plants?? How do you clean the gravel?? And how often?? And check my tank video that i am posting as video response..

  • Why would I have to look for dead fish? If you always have to look for dead fish, you should not have pets.. My fish don't die..

  • Really!! are your fishes are immortal?? let me know the formula please..

  • ITS EFFIN PRETTY YO

  • nice

  • Do you clean the substrate? & if so how often?

  • so, do you want to share some of that Hygrophila polysperma?

  • nice aqarium better then my vid anyways ilove the plants

  • What kind of substrate are you using? It looks like sand but I'm not really sure.

  • 3M Black Sand.

  • 3.3 watts per gallon on a small tank is cheap and easy. Make your own CO2 and it's good to go

  • Can you elaborate on your aquatek pressurized Co2 system please. Is it the one that fits onto a co2 tank for a paintball gun? How much was it and where did you get it?

  • Nice aquarium, I like little palm tree looking plants :)

  • Amazing!!

  • nice

  • 8 to 9 hours

  • how long do you leave the light on for you plants?

  • I have sold about 80% of the plants you see in the video and replaced them with more colorful plants. Tank is still growing out as I have slower growing plants now.

    Fast growing plants get annoying.

I alway have plants, moss and stuff for sale :)

  • @localraceway i agree with u i had like 3 stems of wisteria and now i got tons and had it for bout 1 year now and i threw alot of it away still got to much and nice tank love it

  • @localraceway where do you sell your plants.

  • i want to turn my regular fresh water tank into a planted tank. i have the regular hood that came with my tank. but i see on yours, that your lights are above your tank. i think i need that also because i cant find the proper plant lights for the hood i have now. can someone help me with changing my regular fresh water tank into a planted fresh water tank?

  • Ya send me a private message and I'll give you the basics to making a NICE tank.

You need compact flourescents if you want pretty plants.

If you have a hood that takes incadascent bulbs like mine get those replacement bulbs that are designed to replace incadascent lamps fromp home depot. Get the "daylight blue" kind in the biggest size you can possibly fit in your hood. Some minor modification may be needed like removing heat shield and adjusting filter to splash less etc.

  • That is the nicest sand for an aquarium I have ever seen.

  • Comment removed

  • SAND you idiot!!!!! Next time read the fucking comment before you reply!!!

  • Ok I'd like to now remove my previous comment and change it... new comment:

Hahaha what a retard you think SAND is NICE?!?!?!?!?! hahahahahahahaha I thought this was a sarcastic comment about the mismatched stand but out of all the beautiful assets of this tank you notice the SAND? It doesn't even HAVE sand you fuckin TOOL! Sand doesn't work with most planted tanks as thehir roots need chunkier substrate to stay anchored (when the roots have yet to develop)

    Next time LOOK before commenting

  • The SAND is 3M color quartz S grade (Fine Sand) Sand works great for planted tanks and most plants you will not notice any difference at all between the $30 per bag plant substrate and the bag of cheap pool filter sand. Sand work great for most ALL plants. I sold my fluorite just so I can buy this cheap ass sand and my plants have never grew better.. As you can see in the tank, the plants grow extremly fast and are very healthy in the black sand.

  • Ok well I stand corrected. But it's not just an oppinion that actual SAND doesn't work for plants but it's a fact that it leads to root rot without heating coils. I don't know what 3m color quartz is but the larger your substrate the better oxygen flow your roots get. There's NO explanation as to why you plants are doing better in sand so that's why I'm certain you owe your success to something else. I'm not saying it's impossible to have plants grow in sand. What's this sand FOR? Pool filter?

  • Thanks. It's very hard to find in Washington but it's very cheap. There is only 2 places that sell it in my state..

  • @localraceway haha, hello fellow Washingtonian nice tank

  • @localraceway you can buy fluorite black sand online for 15 bucks!

  • @localraceway are you running any substrate under 3m sand like eco complete or what not? im planing on running probably a small layer of eco complete with a larger layer of either tahitan moon sand or 3m black sand.

  • @quaqa88 hi i want live plants in my tank and i bought some seeds at wallmart and i wanted to know should i bury it in gravel and let it grow?

  • @fitbikerider459 i have bought some to and ive notice to get the best results when i put the inside my breeding box that way its closer to the light. and for your question dont bury them or they would die! If u dont have a breeding box u can just throw them into the tank they will be fine just make sure they dont get cover with gravel until u sill it growing

  • how many wpg should i use for my 29 gallon tank?

  • I would get Co2 injection before I would buy a light. If you don't want Co2, something around 1.5 watts per gallon should work good for lower light plants.

  • Why there is a salt water circulation pump in your freshwater aquarium?

  • That pump can be used for freshwater also. Most people use it for saltwater though.

  • that looks very nice, congrats on the tank
