Lotus VIR North Course

how fast can these cars really go? i was expecting to see a sub1:45 lap, but this was 2:02ish.

that time is conistent with what I see on the track at VIR, but I always thought the drivers were just being conservative.

Car magazines call the Exige "the ultimate track tool", but i have never been passed by one at the track in my stock subaru STi. what gives? on paper the Exige should dance cirsles around a Subaru.

what is a "fast lap" for exige at VIR

Lotus is one of those cars that makes you feel good to drive it. Sadly it doesn't perform as well as other cars costing the same as in the Z06 or the GT-R. You will be hard pressed to find a racing video where the Exige is shown passing a Z06 or a GT-R. Sure, people will talk about how quick it can change lanes but the truth of the matter is that races are won by more than just changing lanes.
