  • Enjoyed the video. It is hard for some to judge how much work you have put into research for these topics. I have bought some of the books that you mention in your series and all I have to say is "Thank You!" A lazy person will just not appreciate the voluminous references that you share but for anyone really wanting answers to the deep questions - you have given much.

  • Imcredibely interesting video. Thanks

  • How do you get all those books with you up the Mountains. Anyways can you please send me all the name of the books you are reading from. Thanks.

  • i love your perspective toward the biblical.

but would be nice to quote biblical verses, that satan was betray god, the refused to worship adam. could you refered this biblical verses?

    keep it coming more,plz :)

  • Take it easy anti-mormons, take it easy. If God didn't create Satan then who did? Satan was there in Heaven with us before being cast out. So common sense would dictate that he and the Saviour as well as the rest of us are related. Seeing all of your anti-mormon rhetoric takes me back to a dark period of my life when I was an anti-mormon or as I like to call it and anti-Christ. Wake up and pull your heads out of your rears. We're all God's children. Got that?!

  • that is some nice tammarisk in the background - love the look into this subject of Jesus and Satan from LDS - I knew you guys knew what was going on as soon as I found that the LDS teach the bees were in the desert West of the delta of Egypt - So much great research comes out of Brigham Young - love your channel

  • truth is truth, n truth is, i've never heard such nonsense. you really think that b. young wasn't party to the murder of women n children? or that j smith was divinely inspired, when its proven that he hadn't a clue how to read the hieroglyphics he based one book on, n that an angel who's name started with 'moron' gave him tablets for another? n what of holy underwear n secret rituals? you really think God failed to mention our impending rulership over planets in the Bible? get real...

  • After careful deliberation...I have come to a scientific conclusion....that in order for Mormonism to work, one must remove all traces of intellect and common sense and truly believe that one such as TheSkepticChristian & the TheBackyardProfessor

are co-joined at the hip and have convinced themselves that they are intellectual giants and have "YET" to show any minute trace of intelligence. Maybe in a few million years they will evolve?

  • @A1Goku come on man, I am open minded, if you can give good arguments against the theory of Evolution, I will accept them.

I was also debating an atheist, so would you help yes or NO??

  • @TheSkepticChristian

You just keep on debating those atheists since your defending Mormonism this should be a natural for you.

  • @TheSkepticChristian It appears you have struck a conversation with a person who is alike unto a happy meal short a few french fries.

  • Do you ever get tired of talking and acting like an idiot and living a lie????? nothing of your faith has "ANY" merit or validity and has more holes than swiss cheese...you really need to "STOP" and exercise that dried up shriveld gray matter between your ears and and feed it some "REAL" truth from the Holy Bible and quit feeding it garbage from that goofy B.O.M. that has distorted and diluted the common sense that GOD gave you which you have wasted on defending lies of mormonism.

  • @A1Goku

Your exaggerations and deliberate obfuscations (look it up then), are truly amusing.......

  • @TheBackyardProfessor There is nothing confusing about it to me, I know the Holy Bible is the “ONLY” word of God one needs to have truth, not fairy tale stories and lies. You know that the B.O.M. isn’t God’s word, it’s a con job from the 1800’s by a man…and you believe in that crap??? Because that’s exactly what it is…”CRAP”

  • @A1Goku

You are 100% confused, and its amusing how you push your own confusion onto others with an agenda which is seriously flawed in every sense of the word.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor Dude...I feel so sorry for you cause you obviously either have been shooting up or swilling down some strange brew that dissolves brain cells. Because thinking that your B.O.M. is correct on anything is absolutely absurd and offensive to God. Burn that book of mormon and run from that vile place of satanic worship that they do. You have become absolutely Ridiculous not only in your vides but thoughts as well.

  • @A1Goku

Yada, yada, yada........ stop watching my videos then. Gee, even a 4 year old could have figured that out genius.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor Why don't you just stop and think about what your saying and doing? You gotta have some part of you that say's...wait a minute...this don't sound right...maybe that B.O.M. isn't quite cracked up to what they are saying. He (GOD) gave everybody a default setting of what is right and what is wrong! and what you are choosing to believe is "wrong" think about it...more and more truth about what a sham that faith is...your church leaders are lying...horribly to you.

  • @A1Goku I think you should stop and think of all the nonsense that you are saying.

So according to you, why is the Bible the word of God, and not the BofM??

  • @A1Goku Anyways, dude, I have a challenge for you, can you explain Einsteins Theory of Relativity??

  • @TheSkepticChristian

That has nothing to do with what mormonism is trying to imply or this video...If you want to run down rabbit holes...i'm not going to follow you.

  • @A1Goku okay dude, so according to you why is the Bible the word of God? but not the BOok of Mormon??

also, do you believe in the Theory of Evolution :)??

  • @TheSkepticChristian The Holy Bible is not "my proof" that it is the very word of God, it's author is all the proof I need and I don't believe in evolution, nor will I waste time trying to explain why. If you want to run down rabbit holes...knock yourself out...it'll be a lonely trip for you.

  • @A1Goku but we are already in the 21st century now, why do you think PhD Christian(including mormon) scientists believe in evolution??? :) You can't name me one single Christian scientist, that has a PhD in Biology related. please name of at least 5 Christian scientist that have a PhD in physics, that don't' believe in evolution. I am sorry to tell you this, but its silly that you told the professor to think.

I believe in the Bible and BofM because of its author :), its the same author

  • @TheSkepticChristian yeah...I already figured you for a mormon defender...you just as big of an idiot as they are and if you had any sense at all you would load your car with as many of your mormon buddies as possible and drive it into a tree about 80 mph...have someone cut the seat belts first before you take off.

  • @A1Goku I believe in the theory of evolution, you don't, why do you call me an idiot :)

Every PhD Biology-related Christian Scientist will agree with me :)

I am sorry, but you can't do anything, other than say ad hominid attacks.

    Go read a Biology book.

and keep your anti-mormon nonsense out of public

So according to you, why is the Bible the word of God?? but not the Book of Mormon??? :)

  • @TheSkepticChristian Why bother telling you?...I rather enjoy watching you write stupid crap...it just re-enforces the fact that you truly can't fix stupid!...How long have tumble weeds been blowing around inside that empty space you call a head?...Haven't you been dumb long enough?

  • @A1Goku "I rather enjoy watching you write" Do I entertain you?? that proves that you don't have nothing else better to do

Anyways, we are already in the 21st century, don't deny all the REMARKABLE evidences pointing to the theory of Evolutionist. You can be a Christian and believe in evolution, if you didn't know, if you think you can debunk evolution, just try :)

Friendly advice: go hike, go play sports, go study science, go study philosophy,

your anti-Mormonism is not going to help you.

  • @TheSkepticChristian ---- Here's my take on evolution....On the 1st day God created the chicken (with me so far?) On the 2nd day the chicken laid the egg (stay with me on this) ok get ready here it comes.....

And on the 3rd day Man created the omlet! lololololololol ! hahahahahah!! hohohohohho!! hehehehehe! what a hoot !

  • @A1Goku I will make you a deal, I will have a lot of respect for you, and I will admire you, and you may in fact change the way I think. If you give good arguments against the Theory of Evolution :)

But not here, in another video (but on this same backyardproffesor channel)

    What do you say??

If you want to help others, you should accept the invitation.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor I just can't get over what a genius our man A1Goku is.... LOL

  • @A1Goku Here are my questions to those who say, "Leave the Mormon Church and follow the true Gospel of Jesus." Okay, what is the true gospel of Jesus? The gospel that embraces Catholicism as part of true Christian brotherhood or the gospel that considers Catholicism a cult just like Mormonism? The gospel that embraces Word of Faith teachings or the gospel that rejects Word of Faith? The gospel that embraces gay and female clergy or the gospel that rejects one or both of these?

  • @CRL73hippo -- If you want truth...read the book of John and romans...it becomes clear afterwards.

  • @A1Goku Ok go ahead and name every thing you think is wrong with Mormonism then.

  • @A1Goku

Do you ever tire of BEING an idiot? See? This is easy......you are as bad as some Mormons who disagree with me and instantly start off judging that I am in apostasy for teaching something they have never heard because they are too lazy to learn for themselves. Now that we have passed judgment on each other, go your way, and God bless you, you idiot.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor although i do not agree with the mormon doctrine and theological perspective (i'm agnostic), you are definitely not an idiot.

  • it makes perfect sense that lucifer and jesus are brother... and further more God the father said there would be oppostionin all things!

  • very good and I believe every word you say and fully agree !! thank you for sharing truth! excellent video kerry!

  • ...2 THESSALONIANS:2:11: And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

  • Doesn't this ideology of Satan and Jesus being brothers bother you?

Is it in any way disturbing to you that this very claim that Jesus is Satans brother that people or persons have to lower the very deity of Jesus to make thier ideology fit or sound credible?.

Why would you even entertain the very notion of this blasphemy and heretical belief and teaching as truth?

Doesn't any of what the Holy Bible counter what you have been led to believe?

What can be said to change your mind?.

  • I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL BUT THE WIND ON THE MIC WAS DRIVING ME INSANE.

  • Here's something scary: When they discovered the dead sea scrolls in 1949, dated around 2000 yrs old, they found writings from a small sect teaching the same thing J.S taught "Jesus was Satan's brother". Now obviously J.S new nothing about this 2000 yr old teaching (given the date they were found) but... Satan and his clever lie's used the same demonic forces to influence J.S and to resurrect this lie. Why? Because Satan want's to be equal with God!

    Please read Ephesians 6:12 .

  • This video is yet another example of going beyond that which the Spirit of Scripture is saying, characteristically common of all the cults that counterfeit Christianity. There is seemingly no end to what such 'professors' will profess, rather than enduring sound doctrine. To them their new upstart religions of church concoction & claptrap are perceived as progressive. That they would steal God's glory & rob His Christ of praise for them is seemingly a non-issue, After all they aspire to godhood.

  • I rather think that GOD and SATAN are brothers themselves... Only thing that God is the ruler of the heavens and Satan rules in the underground... which likely brings a balance in the world itself, believing in the premise that where there is good there is evil and viceversa... It is the spiritual order of things...

  • Great work brother...Anti-Mormons always find something they can take out of text or use as weapons to attack our beliefs....keep up the great work.......Without adversity we cannot grow physically or spirtually........Jesus is the Christ its him we follow...

  • His accent is horrible. I think that's why the english form of the book of mormon is mistranslated. I think when the BOM is translated correctly we will understand it soo much better.

  • Yes, jesus and satan are brothers... who says they're not? WHY CAN'T IMAGINARY BEINGS HAVE RELATIVES?

They're cousins of the flying spaghetti monster and giant pink megascrotal unicorn.

  • satan was a created being jesus was not. hope that helps

  • "solomanspaming" I wonder if he has studied why so many people come back to the church. I wonder if he has studied why some anti-mormons become Mormons? he said, "have all the time in the world." Like if he didn't have all the time in the world to attack everything that he dosen't like.

  • what about the irs forcing the chuch to allow blacks into byu...and why did joseph smith take away polygamy .???

  • I am not asking this is my roommates argument..i said that to him, but is it true that the IRS forced are church to allow them into byu.....and why did Joseph smith take away polygamy.......and my other question is if i go to to the celestial kingdom will i get to choose if my husband will have muitlpe wives?

  • @minisight2000

I honestly have no idea what will happen in the Celestial Kingdom. No one does. The important thing to do for now is live with love towards all. Let heaven take care of itself, we shall all be on the other side soon enough.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor I proven wrong all of @solomanspaming failed prophecies arguments, at least in LDS perspective. He simply likes talking trash about Mormonism, its so sad that he is not even aware of the trash some scholars talk about the Bible. I wonder if he even has a long list of evidences against the Theory of evolution? which scientist would easily disproved his long list. Me as a believer in GOD, just find some Theist irrational, like him.

  • @minisight2000

You have some very important questions. However, YouTube does not allow much room to answer them.

I would suggest that you go to fairlds.org. They have a place for answering your questions.

IRS never forced the Church to allow blacks into BYU, because blacks were never banned from attending.

Joseph Smith did not "take away polygamy". He introduced it into the Church.

  • @minisight2000

To expand on my answer. Plural marriage was halted in 1890 after President Wilford Woodruff received revelation that it was to be discontinued. You can read about this in the Doctrine and Covenants, Official Declaration-1.

I encourage you to seek for the truth from the source, then you can ask God if what you have learned is the truth. May you be blessed in your honest endeavors,

  • @GaryKColeman it is not my questions..these r my roomates arguments to me. the goverment told the church if they dont stop poligmy they would not get a tax break.......and as far as the blacks i know the real reason but cant tell that to him so what do i say to him..

  • @minisight2000

Again, I encourage you to go to fairlds.org for answers.

If you can't tell your roommate the truth, I can't tell you what to say.

As for plural marriage, there were no "tax breaks" in the late 1800s. Through the Edmunds-Tucker act, the fed govt took over ownership of all LDS property and then charged the Church "rent" to use the buildings. That included the temples.

Women were incarcerated, with their children, for refusing to testify against their polygamous husbands.

  • @minisight2000

The federal govt did all it could to destroy the Church. If Pres. Woodruff had not stopped plural marriage, the Church would have been completely torn apart. Critics claim that is the reason plural marriage was ended.

Pres Woodruff testifies that he was directed by God to stop the practice so the Church would stay intact.

I accept his explanation as found in the Doctrine and Covenants--Declaration 1.

  • @minisight2000 The Lord took away polygamy by revelation to Wilford Woodruff. The other question is left to God. We don't know.

  • was joesph smith proven by the court of law to be false when it came to the plates? if not why would they have it in the archives. and my second question is why did are church take away poligamy and allow the blacks to come in to the church only after the goverment threated them??

  • @minisight2000

Blacks were never excluded from being in the church. Get your facts right first.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor

    You have much to learn.

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so." (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 10, p. 110).

You had better get "YOUR" facts right!

This was your Prophet, see'r, and revelater for your church!.

  • I like how the back door professor states that 'the mormons believe in the same biblical Jesus, & have a DIFFERENT UNDERSTANDING of him. This statement contradicts what Gordon Hinckley says"those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints 'do not believe in the traditional Christ.' 'No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. Church News June 20, 1998

  • @solomanspaming

The traditional Jesus of Christianity Hinckley meant, in context, was the Jesus the Creeds invented in the 4th century hundreds of years later and nowhere to be found in the Bible.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor "The traditional Jesus of Christianity Hinckley meant, in context, was the Jesus the Creeds invented in the 4th century hundreds of years later and nowhere to be found in the Bible."

For starters, Christians rightly believe the Spirit of Christ is uncreated, creeds or no creeds. Mormonism has its creeds; they only do not call them creeds.

What is not found in the Bible is the twistology of theology & sedition of addition that Smith & spiders spun & do spin.

  • You just make my day professor.. I can't stop watching this and taking notes..

  • Why bother with Jesus then? Why pretend He’s the savior if you need Joseph Smith’s consent to enter heaven. Jesus says He is the way the truth and the life and no man enters into heaven but through Him. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Who do you believe….Joseph or Jesus?

  • This is excellent and very clearly thought out and explained so that even an anti-Mormon *should* understand it. If not oh well they must not have ever really wanted to know the truth anyway like several I have come acrossed they simply want to degrade, insult and play with words playing our judge, jury and executioner. The best resonse to this is the simple fact that ONLY Jesus Christ, yes indeed the one and only Christ will judge all mankind. Thank God the Father for this. Again thanks!!

  • Paul warns Gal 1:6-9: "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

  • @solomanspaming

You honestly think that taking that verse out of context means anything, seriously? When you get SERIOUS about KNOWING the Bible, you let us know. This child's game is just stupid and stupidly done. You need to learn the Bible yourself, not keep listening to your minister who is brainwashing you.

  • Well here you go

Brigham Young stated in the Journal of Discourses Vol 7 Page 289 "no man or woman in this dispensation will ever inter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith." This clearly goes against scripture because in John 14:6 Jesus responds to Thomas by stating that "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The damnable icing on your blasphemy cake, Enjoy:)

  • @solomanspaming

And now you take Brigham's context out of context and think you are actually *gaining* credibility?! Surely you jest!

  • @TheBackyardProfessor How exactly did I take this blasphemous claim by bringam young out of context? “…no man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith…. Every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance… I cannot go there without his consent.… He reigns there as supreme a being in his sphere, capacity, and calling, as God does in heaven.” (vol. 7, p. 289)

  • @solomanspaming

Because that is NOT the *only* thing Brigham Young ever said. You think a mere small paragraph is contexted and understood with the totality of what Brigham taught and meant?! The man taught for THOUSANDS OF PAGES. When you are wise(r) and have digested his magnificent teachings in a few years, come back here and tell us how you learned the TRUTH of Brigham's meaning. I refuse to do YOUR homework for you lazy man. You can begin by reading EVERYTHING recorded in the JD's on him

  • @TheBackyardProfessor sorry guy, my parents WERE mormon, then left because they found out about all the blasphemous teachings, (men become gods, all are damned but mormons) and I have studied it for 20 years learning why people leave. But it is obvious that there is no convincing you that joseph smith was a con-man, so maybe you should make a video about brigham young and what he really meant.

Obviously all you do is made apologetic mormon vids, and have all the time in the world.

  • Hey professor, mormons don't believe in the Jesus of christianity

"In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints 'do not believe in the traditional Christ.' 'No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times.(LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7).

  • @solomanspaming

You are right. We don't believe in the Jesus of Christianity. We believe in the Jesus of the Bible, not the Jesus created from the teachings of man, mingled with scripture. The teaching of the trinity is what Paul was talking about. He and the other early Church fathers would not recognize the god(s) created at Nicaea.

  • @GaryKColeman Very true and excellent point.

  • @GaryKColeman My goodness is he over here too! LOL. I could not have made it simpler for him! And he posted the exact same stuff he did on the other channel! LOL. I see where he gets his name from.

  • Joseph smith was a con -man, look up a book published in 1823 by Ethan Smith called View of the Hebrews. Ethan smith wrote a story that is the same as the BofM.

list of parallels included:extensive quotation from the prophecies of Isaiah in the Old Testament

the Israelite origin of the American Indian.the future gathering of Israel and restoration of the Ten Lost Tribes. the assumption that all native peoples were descended from Israelites and their languages from Hebrew.

  • the burial of a "lost book" with "yellow leaves". a change from monarchy to republican forms of government. the preaching of the gospel in ancient America. the division of the migrants into civilized and uncivilized groups with long wars between them and the eventual destruction of the civilized by the uncivilized.

Oliver Cowdery attended the Church of Poultney, Vermont, where Ethan Smith was pastor. At the time, Ethan Smith was writing View of the Hebrews (1823).

  • @solomanspaming

I was looking forward to an in depth, challenging discussion, but you disappoint me. "Ethan Smith", is this the best you can do? Or are you setting us up with a very weak argument at first and then bringing on the "block buster" later?

Seriously, if "Ethan Smith" is your best shot, then I am willing to level the field for you. I can talk to my 12-year-old granddaughter and see if she wants to continue the discussion with you.

  • @GaryKColeman Ask her if she wants to marry a 30 year old polygamist when she turns 14, like Helen Kimball and Nancy winchester did with joseph smith.

Warren Jeffs is only doing what joseph smith did, except the little girls that Jeffs marries aren't already married to other men,LOL!

  • @solomanspaming

Out of curiosity, are you trying to convert Mormons to your brand of Christianity or are you trying to save the world from the wicked, evil Mormons? What ever it is, you are using some rather wimpy arguments.

  • Wimpy arguments, like Joe smith was an adulterer and a pedophile?

Like how smith was pretending to have magic powers by looking at seer stones in his hat for many years before using the same con to 'translate' the book o'mormon?

Like how smith proved he wasn't translating when he refused to re-translate the 116 pages that Martin Harris pretended to lose?

Like how Ethan Smith's 1823 novel View of the Hebrews had many similarities with the 1830 BoM?

    Wimpy indeed!

  • Parallels Between the 1823 View of the hebrews and the 1830 Book of Mormon:

extensive quotation from the prophecies of Isaiah in the Old Testament

the Israelite origin of the American Indian

the future gathering of Israel and restoration of the Ten Lost Tribes

the peopling of the New World from the Old via a long journey northward which encountered "seas" of "many waters"

a religious motive for the migration

  • Parallels Cont.

the division of the migrants into civilized and uncivilized groups with long wars between them and the eventual destruction of the civilized by the uncivilized

the assumption that all native peoples were descended from Israelites and their languages from Hebrew

the burial of a "lost book" with "yellow leaves"

the description of extensive military fortifications with military observatories or "watch towers" overlooking them

  • Parallels cont;

a change from monarchy to republican forms of government

the preaching of the gospel in ancient America

Fawn Brodie wrote in 1945, "but the striking parallelisms between the two books hardly leave a case for mere coincidence."[17] On the other hand, Mormon apologists argue that the parallels between the works are weak, over-emphasized, or non-existent.

  • @solomanspaming

The "unparallels" are over whelming. VotH talks about the Ark of the covenant, circumcision, a fire god, Indians used Hebrew terms, passover, Kosher laws, and many other things. None of these are mentioned in the BOM.

No contemporary critic of Joseph and the BOM pointed out the "obvious" connection with VotH.

Why did it take 70 years for anyone to notice it.

All of this is covered in fairlds.org.

  • @GaryKColeman You have no idea how impressed I am that you were able to shut him up LOL

  • @Dalessiokiller

I am a bit suprised myself. I expected him to ignore everything and bring up some other lame argument.

Maybe he went to bible class and asked his pastor for some more really good "proof" against the Church.

  • @solomanspaming

The info here is found at fairlds.org on fair wiki.

VotH-Buried book was in the form of four, dark yellow, folded leaves of old parchment. BOM-in the form of a set of gold metal plates.

VotH-Israelites come to America via dry land across the Bering Strait.

BOM-Via the ocean on board a ship.

VotH-Destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in A.D.70.

    BOM-by the Babylonians in 586 B.C.

  • @garykcoleman "We don't believe in the Jesus of Christianity. We believe in the Jesus of the Bible,'

I hate to break it to you but that IS the jesus of the bible not the white and delightsome racist mormon jesus that Paul warned that if anyone should preach to you another gospel, let him be accursed.Gal. 1:6-9.

And if someone was looking at seer stones in his hat from 1820-1826, then claims he's 'translating' the word of god using this same magic, he's damned for blasphemy and going to hell.

  • @solomanspaming

Thanks for confirming to us that you really haven't got a clue.

  • Here are 3 things to look up that prove Joseph smith was a fraud.

Smith was a con man from 1822-1826 look up joseph smith seer stones. He looked at magic stones in his hat to pretend he could find treasure, he then 'translated' the book of mormon using this same con.

When M. Harris 'lost' 116 pages that smith 'translated' smith refused to re-translate and prove he was not a fraud.

Ethan Smith wrote a book called view of the hebrews in 1823, about jews in america, Joe Smith copied it.

  • @solomanspaming

"View of the Hebrews" was never considered a source of the Book of Mormon until 1902, about 75-80 years after both were published. Those who have read both find very little similarity between the two. View of the Hebrews presents no challenge at all to the Book of Mormon.

If you can come up with something substantive, don't be shy, bring is on. We are all on edge waiting for your next big "proof".

  • @GaryKColeman Well here you go:

Brigham Young stated in the Journal of Discourses Vol 7 Page 289 "no man or woman in this dispensation will ever inter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith." This clearly goes against scripture because in John 14:6 Jesus responds to Thomas by stating that "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The damnable icing on your blasphemy cake, Enjoy:)

  • @solomanspaming

BYP is right. This is a child's game, and you are caught in a rut. You should consider anger management.

I am at peace with what I know and with what I believe, and I will answer to God for it.

I hope that you can find peace also and realize that none of us will ever have to answer to you for anything.

  • @GaryKColeman “…no man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith…. Every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance… I cannot go there without his consent.… He reigns there as supreme a being in his sphere, capacity, and calling, as God does in heaven.” (vol. 7, p. 289)

  • @GaryKColeman Here's more proof of the damnable blasphemy of joseph smith:

The History of the Church has statements that show how Joseph Smith seemed to feel he was equal with God. “God made Aaron to be the mouth piece for the children of Israel, and He will make me be god to you in His stead, and the Elders to be mouth for me; and if you don’t like it, you must lump it.” (vol. 6, pp.319-320)

  • @solomanspaming

He meant, in context, the Jesus as the Creeds have taught. Anyone with half a brain realizes this. Where does that leave you eh?

  • "As above, so below."

  • @miket1m

I don't mean to be too picky, but Jesus(Jehovah) did not present a plan. Elohim presented the Eternal plan to the council. Then Lucifer presented his plan, but was rejected. Jehovah confirmed that He would follow the Father's plan. The rest of us accepted the Eternal plan and kept our second estate.

  • Isaiah 14:12

"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"

  • Job 1:6

"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them."

To make this scripture agree with what you are saying, it would say

"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan WAS ONE OF them."

  • This Mormon does NOT believe that Jesus Christ and Lucifer are brothers. In Abraham we learn that satan wanted to be a son of God. We know little about pre-existence in relationship to the origins of Lucifer. Abraham 3:18 gives details about the origins of Jesus Christ. I think any discussion on our relationship with Lucifer is purely speculative. No where does brother or son become associated with Lucifer in any of the Holy Scriptures. I believe that eventually this belief will be denounced.

  • Abraham 3:18

"Howbeit that he made the greater star; as, also, if there be two spirits, and one shall be more intelligent than the other, yet these two spirits, notwithstanding one is more intelligent than the other, have no beginning; they existed before, they shall have no end, they shall exist after, for they are gnolaum, or eternal."

  • why do you get to have videos over 15 min. and I don't :(

  • @michaelgrella

I asked them for over 4 YEARS to let me have videos over a mere 10 minutes and they denied me. I suspect it is because now that I have so many viewers perhaps? I honestly don't know. I am darn glad of it though. The problem now, for me is, it takes well over 5 hours to upload a single 50 minute video! Ayiyi...... So I make a video on Saturday morning, and by the time I edit it, upload it it is midnight on Sat. Night!

  • @TheBackyardProfessor I guess it has it's ups and downs than, huh?

  • @TheBackyardProfessor

I recently heard of the idea that when the council was held and Lucifer was cast out, the earth had not been created. I have always thought that Lucifer was cast down to the earth.

What is your thinking on this?

  • @TheBackyardProfessor

Yes God the"Most High" "Creator" , Yes, God th Father is the MOST High!!! Yes, to me personally that is my view of God. Yes, worship only one God. What do mean when you say They are Gods in their own right? And who are you referring to when you say Gods? All the Prophets? The Angels? Because if they are called Angels then why call them Gods? Then it just becomes confusing. They are not higher than God in your mind, right?

  • @leeuniverse

Please understand that I am not arguing on your belief but to my understanding of the word "God"

"God" capitalized : the supreme or ultimate reality: as

a : the Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe

So to me, I interprete that to mean the supreme (top, nothing above but there is something below). So a headgod would in fact be God in my head.

  • @di4homes

No problem. Realize that the capital G and small g are entirely OUR convention, not the ancients' convention.

  • @leeuniverse

cont... I have no power other than what God has given me. He has given me a couple of dreams that I know where from him (too much to get into) and He has given me a couple of I guess you could say visions. Like one time driving something in my brain keep telling me to avoid the farthest lane because a car was driving directions. I didn't understand why I kept thinking that. 25 mintues later... a car was in fact driving the wrong direction by that lane... That had to be God.

  • oops wrong one... I meant to say @leeuniverse

and I meant also to say I call God, God.... it gets very conveluted in my head when people call Jesus God. If the word "God" is the highest form, how can there be more than 1? Because ultimintely you are saying headgod which makes him "God". I see myself as human, not God and eventually I am going to Heaven or Hell and God is the one that is going to put me there so again I am not even close to the same level as God. I have no power.

  • @herman2776

I guess it is a matter of terminology or words... I believe there is only 1 God to worship. To me the word God is the highest form and reserved for God only. So calling people God or Jesus God doesn't seem right. Jesus is Jesus and God is God.... Not to say Jesus does not deserved tremendous respect in every way, shape and form because he does but God is the one I worship, I pray to, I ask for help. So I don't call Jesus God, I God God.

  • @di4homes

For the scripture to call God the "Most High" is a comparison. This is not a declaration of monotheism, it is showing that in comparison with all the gods in existence, God the Father is the MOST High. Yes? We worship only one God, not all of them. Our Heavenly Father is who we worship, none of the other gods, but they are gods in their own right.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor Could it be said that the veneration of Jesus Christ is an integral part of worshiping God the Father? Yahweh is certainly worshipped in scripture, and I have always associated Yahweh with Jesus who shares the Highest God status by his association with the Father.

  • I will say I believe that Jesus is NOT God but a Child of God in the same way we are all children of God, as Abraham was a child of God. There is only 1 God.... they are not on same level.... In fact to go further and more specific, Jesus was here to bring the Message of God. God is the highest being so how can there be more than one... doesn't make sense....

  • @di4homes True.... But, you should clarify that Jesus IS also "God" both as his calling as one of the Godhead, and also as a being unto himself, i.e. we are all in fact "gods". Christ is God when he's serving in the Godhead, but when he was on the earth, even he said there is only One God, only one we are to worship, and that is the Father. Anyway, fyi. :)

  • @leeuniverse

This is how I understand it as well. Thanks Lee! Good to see you again. I hope we are not on bad terms anymore.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor Hey Kerry... I see you all the time. haa haa :) Ya, I remember being a little irritated by something you said way back when, but I can't remember, didn't we sort of work that out, realizing that we were sort of talking past each other? Oh well, but that's okay, I always still liked you, and never had a problem with you about anything else.

  • @leeuniverse

Oh that's awesome. Sometimes I can be quite obdurate ya know - GRIN! I am glad we weren't still angry at each other. There is no point in using that kind of energy for that kind of thinking.....I much, much, MUCH prefer to be friends.......

  • @leeuniverse

  • @TheBackyardProfessor Although, I remember being disappointed finding out your liberal, but that's another story. :) Funny tho how anti's try to make certain things liberal that aren't actually as you mention in your videos. Of course, I know their speaking of religious liberalism, which is a real phenom..' anyway. It's good to see you also. Life has been something for me, at the beginning of recovery from it. So, hopefully I'll be around more. Anyway, take care Kerry. Great work!

  • @leeuniverse

Yeah but even "liberal" is relative...... and there is nothing about me cast in concrete. My thinking changes all the time. After all, the more I learn, the more I realize that totally liberal is equally as bad as totally conservative. I swing back and forth, and my knowledge and life experience changes all the lovin time. I try to keep an open mind and open attitude after all. Great to see you around and kickin.

  • I think I believe Satan was an Angel than was rebelous but I can see the comparision to why you would say they are brothers.... Soooo deep.... Soooo much to know and understand... I will revisit this again after my brain has a break... it really is much to think about and see what makes sense and how to comprehend... Thank You for sharing your insights on subject.... Extremely Interesting....

  • In addition quite often one word can in another time of understanding, take on a new meaning... So I guess I think does pre exsisting really mean pre-exsisting or does it mean God know our pre-exsistance before we were born. And yes, I believe all of our actions will be written, whether good or bad... even though God knows what we will become and do before we do it. That in a way... I think... is pre-exsisting... Such a heavy conversation.....

  • Because God Knows what our actions are, the thought of were we really pre-exsisting or was who God made us to be pre-exsisting because he created us... Very overwelming thoughts and although extremely well done, far too difficult to comphread all of what you said and your references along with my thoughts in one review. In addition I have a book on the Dead Sea Scrolls which I also need to read and analyze interpretations. cont next comment

  • This was very interesting and all of what is said cannot be absorded in listening one time. Not sure where I stand here but I thank you for information. I have the Gospels according to Barnabas but have not had the chance to read yet. This is very complicated and difficult to anaylize. Because Angels can perhaps be considered children of God in the same sense that we are children of God. In addition, God knows our actions... cont next comment

  • I am not religious, but watching this has taught me a lot. You have a great gift.

  • I think that the reason a lot of people struggle with this is because of a trinitarian view of the Godhead. Once that is out of the way, this concept isn't really shocking at all, or even very relevant to Christ's status as our Lord.

  • lds theology...that says a lot...

  • Great Video. Must be added to my favorites

  • Nice scenery BYP! Excellent research BYP! Plan to watch the whole thing on my day off.

  • MY yoytube STOPPEDat 41:26. I was just getting in to it. Would like to see the rest.

  • @heman2776

    It might just be buffering.....

  • @heman2776 Just reload the page and click your cursor on the progress bar at around 41:26 and you can start watching and loading it from there. You don't have to watch the entire video again.

  • Christians want to believe that Jesus is God.

They also believe that Satan was an angel.

That is why they don't want to think of them as brothers. They don't want Jesus to be as low as an angel. You might have talked about this in the video. I didn't have time to watch the whole thing.

  • @qwertyfshag

The Bible clearly identifies Satan as one of the Bene Elohim though. It also clearly demonstrates that Jesus was an angel, and as Barker has noted "The Great Angel." So it is all very interesting....

  • Premortal exitence is something I struggled with and had to accept on faith during my conversion. This is really very good. It answered quetions I have had for a long time. Awesome!

  • @rdt8888

Oh that makes me happy to hear. Brigham Young told the saints that it was the doctrine that caused more apostasy in the early Church than anything else. Terryl Givens hs a brand new book out published by Oxford University on the Pre-mortal existence called "When Souls Had Wings. A good read!

  • I really like your detailed explanation Backyardproffessor, you're not just explaining things for LDS, but in a way that believers (LDS) other Christian denominations and religions and non believers can understand. often, people who criticize doctrine simply do not understand but fault find, the only way we can find truth is from the source of that information, keep up the good work ;-)

  • @royaloreca

Thanks. I found the information fun to learn and interesting to share. Besides, I got to go hiking around in nature for a bit, and it is always good to get a breath of fresh air. MUCH more coming out......

  • I hope in the future we will have a backyardproffesor español. For members in South America.

  • @TheSkepticChristian

It very well could occur were any interested in translating this stuff into Spanich..... ayiyi.......
