Me, my sister, my entire family is a big fan of Shammi Kapoor movies....He probably stopped acting as a hero by the time I started watching movies, but thanks to Door Darshan, we grew up watching the sheer magic and charisma of the yesteryear stars like Shammi kapoor, Shashi kapoor and Dev Anand! Shammi movies with the Rafi songs were all time favourites....and generations would have had crushes on the Elvis Presley style charisma - of this legend of an actor!
I just loved that particular dance number in Dil Deke Dekhi -- I was 10 years old! And yes, I did wonder how somebody could make a landing like that and not tear their pants? Bless you for telling the story, after all these years!
Listening to these anecdotes makes one wish that the DVDs of these fantastic old movies came with the "making of the movie" bonus feature! It would have been so much fun to see a video of this little mishap of Shammiji's :))
Thank you ..Shammi saab for this funny embarassing memories story..it did happen here in wintersport championship..to a lady in front of the whole world..it was very embarassing too!!!
Dil deke dekho, one of my fav movies. I must have been about 6 yrs old when I was singing the title song n I didn't even speak or understand Hindi. Wonderful memories.

I am an admirer of you, and would like to advise you to put on strechlon made pants, when you do such shots again. Its never too late.
Head gears are not Ranikhet style. You are putting on a Himachali cap, while others wear what not style but not Kumao style.
