i find it very similar to licking a plate clean. a bit compulsive, yet a necessary animalistic response when we find something intoxicating. on my 4th...
If you like stuff like Hecker, Fennesz, Infinite Body, etc. check out some of my We Were Ravens material (nearly all of my material can be found on my channel) and let me know what you think!
I hear this music and all of a sudden i want to make a movie about a man, crossing a glacier. at least 3 hours long, 1 actor, billions of tons of ice, silence, drone, madness and melting beauty.
If you like the distorted sound, check out Belong (specifically October Language). There are many talented ambient artists. Helios, Last Days, Bitcrush. n5MD is an excellent label.
@dj quote from Maynard James Keenan on "Pushit" on Tool's "Salival" :) I'm a big fan of both Tool and Tim, there is a space where both sounds meet. it's how Tim said in one of the interviews about playing with ISIS, that they share a similar aesthetic... and it's damn right. Tim makes something remarkable with sound, being able to convey so many contrasting emotions in such doses that it never fails to give the listener goosebumps and summon waves of shivers... incredible artist.
@dj - Tool fans are morons who have to make reference to their Tool listening abilities at every opportune moment. Even when it's totally irrelevant. It's people like you who put me off the band.
@crazyguy82 You've judged me from one comment I posted on an artists page who I enjoyed. While I was listening to this song those words came into my head. Who's the asshole now? Grow up kid.
this is bliss

I've been sitting at my desk doing nothing with this on repeat for the 13th time now. I don't know what that means, I just know that it is.

@Whitenoiseorchestra Yeah! the music of Tim Hecker gives a real desolate kind of feeling alright. BEAUTIFUL

Fantastic, sounds like warped static and ambience. Reminds me of Fennesz/Sakamoto album Cendre

I dismissed instrumental ambient for lack of a better term years ago and then happened to stumble upon Hecker's music.
I had no idea it could sound so soulful, passionate and human.
Can someone tell me another artist to go to from here?

The third part in the suite is absolutely soul tearing, when that hauntingly beautiful organ sample starts...

Simply beautiful, Tim Hecker has done it again. Your music will live forever.

Tim Hecker is one of our ambient favorites! Check out the review of Ravedeath, 1972 at Groovmine!

@GroovemineTV If this song doesn't convince you of the greatness of ravedeath 1972....

we need you to find
a comfortable space,
that is not only comfortable,
but vulnerable.
I want you to shut your eyes and go there,
and we'll meet you on the other side..
