  • That isn't a YBS because YBS have other patterns on their heads. I think it's a cooter. But he looks very healthy anyways.

  • Beautiful turtle and garden. I cant wait till my turtle becomes a adult. hopefully i can make a pond as great as yours:)

  • She's so preety

  • happy turtle :D

  • That's not a yellow-belly, b/c they have greenish-black backs with no red marks

  • I like how your turtle listens to you when you want it to:)

  • your back yard is epic love the pond with the fish :D

  • Are the gold fish for food or just "decoration."

  • @DnileCosplayer Well, when I first got them, they were just some 'feeder goldfish' that the turtles used to eat when they were young. As the turtles got older, they just eat pellets and greens - so the fish grew.

  • ok this is going to sound insane and probably a reli stupid question but can you train turtles in anyway? i dont mean liek sit or .....roll overXD HA just like can they come to you just by the sound of your voice?

  • i have 2 questions What's the size of the pond and what do you use to filter it?

  • Thank you for sharing this, Your backyard looks beautiful

  • @corrinathisler thanks - sunny Florida - there are times that the grass is not so green - but then God waters it ....

  • is that full grown cas same size as mine but i not sure

  • did you buy yours when it was still small? :)

  • @LoveFromBelgium Actually all of my turtles were given to me by my son in law - and yes they were all babies - very small.

  • how big do they get ?

  • how long do they live for?

  • where do you live is it cold outside???

  • We live in florida

  • @dalsch

    ME TOO!!!!! MIAMI BABBBBYYY!!!!!!!

  • @dalsch me too! central fl w/ my 2 yellow-bellies. yay floridians love this weather. :]

  • how old is he

  • that kinda looks like a florida red belly.. just because of the red on its shell. i could be rong. nice turtle though.. beautiful shell too.

  • @habs4114

I agree, he is definitly not a yellow bellied slider and he does look alot like a florida red bellied turtle

  • Just to let you know, turtles are highly carnivorous when they are young

The older they are, the more herbivorous they become (yes, turtles are omnivores)

So older turtles are prone to eat plants more often as their daily diet

  • Thanks for the info - I was just told the same thing, because I could not understand why they gobbled up the fish when inside the tank and then out in the pond, they could care less.

Spinach & romaine lettuce are ok, right?

  • i have a yellow red eared slider

  • I just feed my turtle 10 fish and he ate them in two days! (He is small)

  • This is just so puzzling to me - my turtles always gobbled down the little feeder fish when they were in the house in their tank.

But when I put them outside and got the small fish--they could have cared less. The gold fish in the pond were very small also when I got them - they just keep growing - turtles just could care less about them.

  • @icthus777fox What breed of fish can you give them?

  • @44randem44 I just got the 'rosy barbs' or feeder goldfish. And yes, once they got bigger, they could care less about the fish and love the leafy greens. I had gotten about 6 feeder goldfish when I put them in the pond outside. The fish were about 1 inch long - they are now about 9" long and beautiful and cohabitate nicely with the turtles.

  • wont your turtle eat your fish?

  • Actually I got the fish pretty small - cause they were to be food for the turtles. They always ate them when they were in the tank inside, but now out here in the pond - they don't eat them - the fish just keep getting BIGGER.

  • he is so cute, love your pond too.

  • CUTE TURTLE!!

  • Wow, he's moves a lot faster than I thought he would. Nice looking pond, I didn't know you could even leave them out like that. Do they go inside at night or anything or are they safe all the time out there?

  • I just put him out for the video - all of them would rather be in the pond. We have wire fencing all around the bottom of our wood fence - so if they would come out of the pond they would not wonder too far.

But I did want them to see they could come out in case there are females and there is dirt patches all around for them to dig nests and lay eggs. That's important - so they do not get 'egg bound'.

  • Wow turtles too?! :)

Its like a petting zoo that i begged my parents to take me too with all the cute pets!

  • oooh thats some greeeeen grass <3

Im so jealous your yard is so pretty! (and your pets)
