  • Very nice.

  • I thought I'd come to you and say... all the things I've had on my mind.

  • What is that groovy song at 3:55?

  • As far as the mind can see the best track on this dvd!

  • It feels like Nick did like phil collins and started to sing and play all other instruments as soon as Neal Morse left.

  • Yes, Nic D'Virgilio IS amazing and a nice guy too! Met, interviewed, and hung out w/ him a couple of times. He's fantastic and SB is the Sh*t!

  • well...i've been a prog fan for years ... for two months I've been listening to these guys' stuff very hard trying to like them...they're good musicians (the drummer is great) and they have some excellent moments... but Neal Morse's vocals are too sappy and the songwriting sounds weak to me...most of the times they are more AOR than prog...just my honest opinion...Peace

  • @heorze09 Yes becuase of the great influence of AOR on 80's singing type of mellodies and choir combinations, which for me AOR is vocally superior at whatever stuff I have ever heard on the mean of pop music its simply superior. The fact is that in prog songs unless is Yes or other band, u usally dont find elaborated chorus.

  • Sorry, but this is tuneless pretentious shit. They so want to be Yes or King Crimson but they're so derivative and can't cut it.

  • There sure a lot of keyboards on stage.....

  • heheh i gues i understand what u r trying to tell me and its funny :)

  • I'm sorry but I can't stand the singer at all. nor the songwriting. do they have an instrumental version of the band?

  • good musicians, great performers! bad song writers

  • @carbonseven1st

THESE GUYS ARE LIKE IF YES' ROADIES HAD A BAND. And that's not a compliment.

  • Spock with Beard rocked!!!

  • YES what is the song at 2.55 ? CAn anyone give us a clue PLEASE!!!!

  • @cello68 Skeletons at the Feast.

  • what is the song at 2:55?

  • This is not so "Rush-y," you need to check out Gentle Giant. They were so ahead of their time and influenced SB HEAVILY. Listen to "On Reflection" by Gentle Giant. You'll see what I mean.

  • These guys deserve a bigger stage.

  • omg it's so "rushy"

  • tesim sa na zajtrek v byvalej YMCE ...v 4D :) g.

  • WOW A CROWD THAT CAN CLAP IN TIME!!!! :O this is the one thing i've been searching for my entire life. Gonna go jump off a cliff now.

  • @thunkawoo What can I say? As finishing touch, god created the dutch!

  • Tasteful playing. Thanks for posting.

  • Slow Crash Landing Man = Greatest solo EVER!

    Alan Morse ftw!

  • absolutely love the beard!

  • Who's the other guy playing drums, with the shaved head? It looks like Chris Pennie...

  • @dwsabianguy

The tour drummer is called Jimmy Keegan, he's been the drummer for the live shows since Neal left and NVD went up front.

  • 1:53 LOL!!!

  • one of the best concerts i ever seen. theyre tecnicly perfect, the armony as a band is incredible

  • I can hear a little Kansas and Gentle Giant.

  • And Genesis at the ending. But not nearly as good as any of the classic prog rock bands. These guys may be technically far ahead, but the vibe & quality of composition is missing. And I must say that I'm kind of tired of that artificial Petrucci style shred guitar sound.

  • You right, nothing will ever come close to 1970's Progressive Rock.

  • Yes, holy Christ, that's the ending of Fountain of Salmacis at 6:01.

  • @gentleGiant65 I have bad news for you bud, Al was playing like that long before Mr. Petrucci.

  • that bass is epic

  • 1:53 Ladies And Gentlemen, Ryo Okumoto on the... oh... yea.

  • kickass

    love the vocals

  • I think Neal and SB both came into their own after he left the band. Neil's solo work is amazing as well as SB's stuff since he left. They really have come into their own!

  • You know what's funny? they all play like 3 instruments and sing. They are really awesome!

  • @GongMoviesProduction Bad enough when people speak, they use the word "like" when it's not necessary in between every other word, now they start typing it as well.

  • Hey Nick! Who's drumming now? What are you doing with an axe in your hand... you look great brother.

  • This band sounds awesome, I'll have to check them out! I know the lead singer is the drummer for Tears For Fears and that is how I found them. They have a great sound!!

  • Who ARE these guys, and how can I be a prog rock fan and not know? How long have they been active? Someone help me on this! I've been so immersed in the whole Rush/Dream Theater universe that I fear I might have been left behind.....

  • Dude, go look for their stuff. Damn worth it. I specially recommend V, Snow and Beware of Darkness.

  • They formed around 1992. They really are a great band, too bad the singer Neal Morse went on his own ways. You should really check these guys out if you haven't already. Neal's other band Transatlantic is also fantastic.

  • check it out the album "Snow" or "V" and enjoy!

  • i find myself enjoying nick's voice better than neal's

  • which is the name of the song that appears at 4:18???? please somebody!!

  • It's the second part of the song "As Far As The Mind Can See", "Here's A Man".

  • D´Virgilio has an incredible and unique voice, also he is a great drummer!

  • these guys sound like yes crossed with rush. pretty god damn awesome.

  • D'Virgilio = amazing

  • Comment removed

  • Nick D'Virgilio is awesome

  • it´s the genesis syndrome - drummer turns to singer. And meanwhile neal morse does a little "cat stevens". or more a "syd Barrett"? Shine On, You Crazy Diamond!!!

  • they r both (spock's and neal) just a shadow of what they once were together.

    real shame.

  • i totally agree....snow is such an impressive record to me.best spocks beard ever did.but nevertheless, still spocks beard and neal morse are outstanding in their own way.

  • oh not that much!its just different... but i think they do a great job without neal

  • oh my God!!! non sentivo cose così dal 1977.... now I have an orgasm!!!!

  • Nick D'Virgilio's voice actualy kinda sounds like neal morse's, sometimes...

Ryo Okumoto is really crazy xDD

  • these guys are crazy!

  • i dont nowit!! spokes have a dvd!! mi god rules!!

  • Amazing!

  • I... Want.. This...

  • incredibili!!!

  • Man they really went over the top huh?

I was wondering how the drummer would be singing, playing guitar and playing drums at the same time. Guess he goes back and forth huh? It's only a matter of time before they officially hire a drummer and make him their lead singer...though it looks like everyone plays at least 2 instruments or something heh

  • Well, it's not so difficult. Phil Collins has always done that with Genesis from 1975 and his solo as well.

  • GREAT DVD! But i miss some old songs from Day of Night and Feel Euphoria...

  • lol. Fukin retards like you always screw up peoples videos. Stop posting man. You make all Beard fans look like dumbshits.

  • It's kinda ironic that you would call anyone stupid, stupid. We were talking about the Whiskey 99 show. Got that on DVD?

Try reading the whole thread before making an ass of yourself next time, Einstein.

  • Haha. I just got this DVD in the mail today from eBay. Haven't even watched it yet. Still looking for a copy of the Whiskey 99 show.

  • i have it on VHS from "back in the day". i don't think it's sold any more.

  • Thnx. I just converted my VHS copy to DVD but it still looks like a tape. I was hoping to find a first generation DVD if they exist. I the VHS of the Whiskey show for the first time last year and realized that my friend and I are standing by the speakers. I forgot I was there that night. I thought I saw them at the Troubadour. haha!

  • OMG! This is amazing, I want this DVD!!

  • Took a buddy of mine (Who is a musician who never heard any SB stuff before) to see the beard last year in NY City. He said "If they had a singer, they'd be really good" I like Nicks Harmonies and of course, he is a great drummer. Just can't say I am a fan of his voice. To the people that say SB doesn't miss Neal, let's not get carried away.

  • I saw then in Leeds last week and they were awesome. Live they don't miss Neal. Yes their music has changed in style since Neals departure but would you rather they kept the same style album after album? Personal fave is 'Kindness of Strangers' album and the latest album. Octane was a bit weak in places but so what? Snow I found quite boring - too overblown and many riff based songs, I think it was over-rated (controversial I know!) The band have totally found their feet again now :-)

  • No offense to any of you older SB fans, but I like Nick's voice MUCH better than Neal's. I think it has more power.

  • I like Nick's voice better than Neal's.

  • Went to see them in concert last week in Manchester....awesome!

  • Been there and it was awesome!. Both the Zoetermeer concert and the Weert concert last year. And I'm going to Zoetermeer the 29th to see them again together with Frost :D.

  • man, i am sorry. i try and try but i can't stand them without neal. it just doesn't work. ugh. nick sounded great doing harmonies with neal, but for some reason that does not translate to him being a good front man imo. sorry, i can't listen to him singing lead! he acts like a fruit up there too. give me thumbs down if you want, but i just don't like them with this line-up. i've been listening to them since beware of darkness came out, so maybe i'm biased.

  • thumbs UP man!

Spock's beard was a legend, but after SNOW they are just "a great band"

  • Got the DVD yesterday, and it's awesome. Even got to see myself for a second :P

  • I would have loved to have a good video recording of 'The Light' on there, but this is a pretty bangin' setlist regardless.

  • oh man i hate this fuckin bass sound, i fuckin hate it sorry just my opinion

  • Nick is such a great replacement for Neal. GO THE BEARD!!

  • 100Underscores: neal morse. the one with the talent. nick is a fantastic drummer. he should do more of that.

  • The Beard is out there... again!

Wow, I'm really looking forward to this output. What a great Trailer, what a fantastic band. Can't wait for the live DVD and CD!

  • what song is that at 00:50?

  • "Crack the Big Sky"

  • The song is: Crack The Big Sky from the album Day For Night. Awesome track! :D

  • Weird that the keyboard player is with his back to the other band members like the whole concert!

  • Rudess does that sometimes too.

  • i will buy the CD and the dvd on the first day^^

and i'm german.. means i will have it earlier than u!!! :P^^

    SBrulez

  • Wij staan ergens links van het midden, was super, vooral de deleted scenes waarin Nick nogmaals zijn natte shirt aan trok van zo'n vijf nummers eerder.

  • Are we finally going to see Ryo's "Fleischpeitsche" on this particular dvd?

  • Whoaa!! Ryo, calm down dude!

Surfing down the avalanche... on a KeyBOARD!

  • This comment cracked me up. I busted out loud laughing when I read it. Mostly because it was right about the time he was doing it when I scrolled down to read the comments. hahaha good one!

  • I can't wait till June 24th!!!

  • I travelled 9.000 km from Brazil to see Neal Morse and Spock´s.. and It was great!!!

    I hope to see me!

  • Whoo, I saw myself :).

  • Will this also be available on CD?

  • yes it will! :D

  • FINALLY!!!

    I was there too. :D
