  • Anyone know the name of the song that plays at 1:30? I've heard it sooooo many times growing up and still don't know the name haha.

  • Damn, I remember that voice! Bugs' original voice actor I assume?

  • @invaderjay Yup, that's Mel Blanc.

  • Herman Goering in the middle- General Tojo on the right, 'Cretaceous'.

  • Whoever flagged this is an asshole.

  • 1:06 I know the guy on the left is Mussolini, but who are the other two?

  • lol @ the tanks saying "heil"

  • excellent piece of propaganda (whether you accept it as truth or not, it got it's message across), bot i lol'd the most at the preview pic: pvt snafu blatantly staring at the showgirl's tits

  • How can I download a copy of this?

  • 0:41 0:51 I love how racist old cartoons are

by the way, whats the music called at 1:31??

  • @Trashcansam123 That's "Powerhouse", composed by Raymond Scott. A number of Scott works were used by WB in their cartoons.

  • @MrUnidyne awesome I was wondering myself. I gave Thumbs Up in hopes that your comment beats the stupid SEX magazine ones.

  • that guy sounds like Bugs Bunny

  • @TpriceOfficial97 That's the Original Voice for Bugs :D

  • Oh Snafu, you no good goldbrick.

  • 1:16 Naiz XD

  • LOL. It showed what not to do in the army.

  • Just remember - loose lips sink ships! ;-)

  • hey mel blanc

  • Well before he became Dr.Suess, Geisel made political cartoons including this one.

  • what a jackass

  • Back in the 1940's cartoons werent only directed to children especially WWII, they were used to relieve the stess of the war by creating a little laugh so the people who think "Oh no wonder this was band it shows the swastika and has an alcohol reference and a sexual reference this was made back in a time where it was directed to adults & children

  • @NICKDAHIPPIE129 These Snafu shorts weren't made for children at all, only for the military servicemen. In fact they were a little too risque at the time to show in regular movie theaters - some of the material wouldn't have gotten past the Hays office, especially the sexual reference and the use of words like damn & hell.

  • @shootinair It'd be pretty sweet if WB made new toons somewhat like this for adultswim. The same flair as Looney Tunes but for the fans that grew up! :D

  • back in the 1940's cartoons werent directed only to children especially WWII

  • My favorite

  • 1:18 nazi sign haha

  • "1:00" SEX magazine that was epic

  • can't believe the voice of Bugs Bunny is Pvt SNAFU

  • Wow even the cat too, everyone was a suspect. I also heard that Dr. Suess helped create Pvt. SNAFU. But I think I also heard the creditr went to someone else.

  • LOL I still cant believe this was made by dr. seuss the man who made stories for children but this seem's more for adult's due to sex refference drinking and nazi sign's ML also did a great voice to.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Nazi boobs, sex magazine, swastika subs, stereotypical everything, and goatse at the end.

  • Warner Bros. cleaned up so much since then, wow.

  • LMFAO, I love the way they portrayed stereotypes.....so unrealistic

  • @072925126 Yeah everyone knows Japanese people don't have squinty eyes or talk that way. .......

  • @NephilimRomance ...yeah, I would hope everyone does know that.

  • Even in Italy, during WW2, there were "educational" spots like this: however, they were filmed with human actors, but the final message was the same: "TACETE" (transl. "SHUT UP"). They were addressed not to soldiers but to people, so they won't talk in public about things happened to their relatives in war (spies could listen to them). P.S. nice and clever image, the one of alchol in his stomach melting his secret's "padlock"!

  • he made a jackass of himself

  • This just goes to show that alcohol is the best truth serum of all...

  • @Kroleg666

    Nah! That's his cousin.

    Fucked

    Up

    Beyond

    All

    Recognition

  • is the private Bugs Bunny? Is THAT his secret?

  • of the 99,539 viewers of this video, 98,937 disapprove of the way the moose lock antlers at 1:17. Of those who do approve, 86% also support the copying of floppies.

  • coooolll)

  • Buggs Bunny haha

  • Can someone catch what Devil Hitler says at the end there after Snafu's line?

  • @Shadohime He said "What was that I heard you say my little Sauerkraut?"

  • wtf nazi symbol at 1:18 ....... that's fucked up

  • 1:16 Notice the Swastika lol!

  • How did they get this out to the public and Youtube, if it was ONLY supposed to stay in the military?

  • @BenHutchinson1 spies!

  • Dont mind me, just reading "SEX Monthly"

  • @6187490 These were officially Military training films, so they were exempt from the Hays Office restrictions of the day. That's why you'll see an occasional boob or hear a "Hell" or Damn".

  • The newsstand guy "reading" a SEX magazine, nice touch!

  • @pwilster Is that so????? the few and the PROUD! now give me 20 marine!!!!! This we'll defend!!!!

  • I could never tell if this was the actual speed or my DVD is just slow. My DVD makes Snafu sound like something other than Bugs...

  • S.N.A.F.U. = Situation Normal: All Fucked Up

  • @OR3NG

    If it's normal it's good.

If it's freaked up, then it's bad.

This combination seems to be saying 2 separate contradictory things. I'm confused. what does it mean?

  • @BenHutchinson1 In this case normal doesn't mean good it means like usual. So it's saying the situation is fucked up just like it normally is. There's also military acronyms for worse situations such as TARFU: Things Are Really Fucked Up and FUBAR: Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition.

  • @gd070510

Is that just unofficial slang used by low ranking soldiers in casual conversation discussing battles they've been in? Or are they actually official military jargon?

  • @gd070510

As for FUBAR, I thought that was FOOBAR, a music playing software.

  • isnt that daffy duck or bugs bunny voice? i am not sure :)

if someone can enlighten me! :D

  • @BloodyRevan It's Mel Blanc, who did voices for both, so you probably hear a little of each. But you're right, SNAFU does sound a lot like Bugs!

  • @BloodyRevan - Yes, it's Mel Blanc, the guy who did all of their voices.

  • I wish my legs filled up when i drink....

  • what the fuck...

  • Pigeons were used by both sides in WWII.

  • i dont like those boobs

  • Is it just me or does Snafu sound like Bugs Bunny?

  • @dankitti Same voice actor. He used one of his voices similar to his Bugs.

  • @dankitti its played by the same person

  • @TheSnowballDude Mel Blanc was a genius in the field of voice acting. Too bad he's gone.

  • @Shadohime he was great , nobody else will be as good an actor as he was

  • did he get goatse'd at the end? :P

  • lol the mooses make a swastika

  • LOL, funny stuff. Didn't Dr. Suess write some of these?

  • It says sex on the magazine. Sry fir accidentally flagging the video.

  • loose lips sink ships

  • lol that was funny and u know what these days they wouldn't put any cartoons out like that bc the govt would complain that is too politically incorrect!.....

  • is it just me or does that sound Like Mel Blanc?

  • Of course it is! These were done by Warner's. They (mostly) were directed by Chuck Jones and written by DR. Suess.

  • @bookeater to me he sounds like bugs bunny in the beginning

  • @bookeater

Mel Blanc did most of the voices for these as well as Porky Pig. he wasnt known as the man of 1000 voices for nothing :D

  • now a dayys the ENEMY is a real estate broker or a construction company. they don't have SECRET POLICE here so when you complain they try to put you in a mental hospital.

  • Microphone boobs lol sneaky

  • 3:23 - with Adolf Hitler as the Devil.

  • 2:13 - The Nazi Spy Girl has "Microphone Boobies", Sneeky.

  • Lol genius!

  • jap bastards

  • These were written by Dr Seuss!!!!!!!!!! The same man who wrote other classics such as the cat in the hat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolute legend!

  • sounds just like bugs bunny

  • JACKASS LMAO!!! 3:36

  • the antlers form a swastika lol!

  • The other magazines on the rack at 1:04 are Mix, Stop, Look, Put, Take, and Jokes. On the upper rack there is one called "Gal", one on the left hand side that plausibly says "Click" and possibly another one called "Sexx or Sexy" but there is a lot of shadowing in the way. Others include "House" and "Homes"

  • Private Snafu: Now who in hell do you s'pose it was that let my secret out.

Hitler Devil: Vat vas zat I herd you zay, my little zouerkraut?

Nazi Devils: He vonders who the hell it vas who let his secret out?

  • 1:15 swastika antlers... the bucktooth chineese guy the news stand of porn talking nazi pigeon..

  • He was Japanese.

  • these were shown to the troops telling them what NOT to do in a way that everyone could understand and that made sense

  • 1:19 swatsika o_o

  • agreed, but back then people thought like that haha

  • It wasn't ABOUT being racist. This was a World War 2 informational film that was made specifically for the US armed forces. Not for public viewing.

  • 1:16 = their antlers make a nazi symbol

  • Don't forget the submarines.

  • Awesome cartoon!

  • What's the name of the song from 1:30 to 1:42? Please tell me.

  • this song is called powerhouse

  • he sounds just like bugs bunny

  • probably the same guy who voices him

  • Yep. None other than Mel Blanc.

    Didn't even notice it!

  • Dr.Suess wrote some of these cartoons...like this one

  • Loose lips sink ships.

  • Comment removed

  • the audio was terrible to the point where i cant understand some of the lines. however, it was till awesome.

  • awesome

  • whats the song called when the alcohol goes in him and unlocks his padlock?

  • That song is called "Powerhouse." It was a staple in many of the Warner Brothers cartoons.

  • "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott, to be precise. Published in 1937. A very well-known piece of music, thanks to WB.

  • at 1:02 there's a newspaper called SEX. cartoons kicked ass back then.

  • Well, this WAS made specifically for adult MEN,so they could be more risqué then usual. But yes, cartoons were absolute awesome in those days.

  • This also wasn't released theatrically like the other WB cartoons of this era. It was made specifically for U.S. military screening audiences (as a wartime training animated film "reminding" soldiers of the dangers they could get into if they actually behaved like Snafu does in these shorts). Hence, why Snafu also gets away with saying "Hell" in this cartoon.

  • i guess this is an anti beer commercial? lol

  • wow they REALLY drew the Japanese awful didn't they LOL

  • Well...remember Satan, the Germans were like 'us'. Europeans. They looked like us and we admired their culture. The japanese were considered sneaky, underhanded and were 'monkeys'. All because they attacked Pearl Harbor w/o warning and were 'different'

  • yeah, being different sure is a bitch in this world huh lol

  • In a way Japan was even more savage than Germany in their war crimes. Starving POWs, treating everyone in captured territory as subhuman. Remember they thought of surrender as cowardice.

  • Yeah, but the whole systemeatic attempted genocide of anyone who wasn't 'Aryan', whatever that means, tends to stick in peoples minds.

  • whats worse than that is what Stalin did in killing anyone who wasn't Communist enough, AND he also killed Jews. He ended up murdering 52 million people we think. And Hitler had he finished his work the same number would probably be right. We'll never know.

  • @TheRazorbackpilot youve got the nazis and communists mixed up dude

  • Guess what buddy - Germany did this in ALL of the Eastern territories. Poland, Russia and the Baltic states. All the same, as well as elsewhere. And let's not forget the fact that they singled out ethnic groups from all of their possessions to do that to, as well.

  • Guess what, I already KNEW THAT.

  • holy no wonder this is banned sex!

  • What? I didn't see the word "banned" in the name, description or tags, so what are you talking about?

  • nazi sign at 1:16

  • It's everywhere. :p

  • I believe I've seen a censored version of this somewhere.

  • Yes Mel" Blanc did many of the voices back then.

  • ROFL Jap inside telephone!

  • What was that I heard you say my little sauerkrrraut?

  • 1:01

    "sex"

  • it sounds like "shit"

  • I remember my grandpa talking abot Pvt Snafu. Never knew what the hell it was till now.

  • That's Mel Blanc's voice! :O

  • swastika antlers! win!

  • This explains how govt employees keep secrets of govt crimes.

  • Herman Goering @ 2:24?

  • 1:16 swastika?

  • SNAFU = Situtation Normal, All Fucked Up

  • The guy selling newspapers was reading a magazine called Sex.

  • @Lucario582 Lol Darn beat me to it, I just saw that.

  • Heh, you can tell that Dr. Seuss wrote this short due to his distinctive rhyming in the script ;)

  • tits

  • lol nice "sex" magazine 1:02

  • Oh, thank you, for posting this gem!

  • It's WWII era.

What do you think, they were gonna be racially sensitive to the opposing armies?

  • It's more of an interesting historical fact than something to get offended by, I think.

  • I'm not Japanese or asian myself, I was just pointing it out. Oh well, this was 60 years ago anyways, things were different. And in the American military now, they do not promote racism or racist themes. Bu again, race relations in America has come a long way since then.

  • less than a century ago too!

  • the Kiosk owner is reading 'SEX' magasine and the chick has boob radios. this is awesome.

  • Read the names of the rest of the magazines. :V

  • Even Mel Blanc himself was surprised that the government didn't censor the animator's pitches as much. Keep in mind that this is not made for children tho :P

  • The lesson is don't drink when you have a secret or Hitler satan will call you an ass.

  • Doesn't Snafu's voice actor also do Bugs Bunny?

  • yep yep...his name is mel blanc

  • MEl Blanc did a lot of voices at this time... Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, etc.
