Also, playing pretty aggressively, none of the strings moved around in the saddles, I assume, since I didn't hear any obvious loss of tuning ... and Phil cranked on the tremolo, too ... again, no loss of tuning. Does Phil roll down the volume when he plays JMs? I'm building myself a vintage parts 59-61Jazzmaster, but I've been told they could sound really trebley with too much attack because of the 1 meg pots. In this video the JM doesn't sound toppy at all. Rolling down the volume would be the solution. I'd just like to know ! Thanks !

@GreenwoodBand some people say to replace the pots to a lower value, but i don't see the point.

effectively the tone rolled down is the same, and the volume rolled down is near enough the same.

with 1meg pots you actually use them! rather than 250k which have to be left on full all the time, so coming from a strat people don't realise how interactive the pots are, and that they aren't meant to be on all the time.

its not a bright guitar, but it has more brightness on tap if you want.
