How To Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 6, Preserve Baseband and Get iOS 5 WITHOUT DEV ACCOUNT - Sn0wbreeze

Ok, I've got it working on BB 03.10.01 on iOS 5 GM. But I wanted to do a restore to my iPhone backup. Whenever I put my phone in pwned DFU mode and try to re install the Sn0wbreeze IPSW iTunes just tells me that my phone is in recovery mode and tells me to click ok. I click ok but it doesn't disappear. I am running iTunes 10.5 Beta 7 for Windows. Any help on this?

@grn6600 Hacktivate is when you have a iPhone that is lock to a certain carrier and needs that carrier's sim card in order to activate the phone. So when you don't have that carrier's sim card, you hacktivate it.

@liwag021 I had that same problem with a previous jailbreak. The solution is to download the program called Power ISO. Its easy to use. Just click "open" in the upper right corner and find your ipsw file. It will separate the file into four different files. Click and drag the bottom file to your desktop and use that file to finish the jailbreak.

@bhooth31 The baseband does't change but a software does. Think of it this way: If something needs a chair to be in the middle of the room to function correctly and that chair is moved to the corner of the room, then it won't function correct.

It's the same with ultrasn0w. Stuff has change in iOS 5 and if ultrasn0w isn't updated to support iOS 5 then it's not going to work correctly or even at all.
