i purchased the knife after watching this review it is a great quality knife the only issue i have is the eka logo was inserted carelessly into the wooden scales and sits in on an angle looks very tacky
Good review MrDragon, You expressed well the key points of the company's execution of its quality and functional design. I wish I had heard of this company sooner. I love that they use wood and have thin scales that are wood, attractive wood.
Nice review... I got the Swede 88 off the back of this video! Beautiful knife! Do you know where I could get a sheath like the one in your video for the Swede 88?
@tollan23 In the UK perhaps contact the big webshop Heinnie ? They have EKA products. Otherwise check the Ragweedforge webshop in the USA: they have sheaths on sale on their Eka page. I think it is the $19 Elk Skin Sheath - but check with them to be sure it's that model.
I shall look forward to that sir. I also have a Swede 92 ('rubber' handle). Its another fine knife, with a very solid feel and has Eka's quite unique position of the lock release. Much less delicate than the 88 but I think more character than the 8 Lite...and a genuine Scandi folder!
I don´t collect Eka knives but I have used the same Eka (one fixed and one folder) for hunting for almost 20 years... I don´t think I will find better hunting knives.
MrDagon, your reviews are always so well thought out and presented. Although having never met or spoke I know we share a great deal of the same views, aesthetic and practical, in our choices of knives. The Eka Masur is my personal favorite.
@pompuswindbag Thanks for your very kind feedback! Indeed the Eka Masur is wonderful, perfectly sufficient for many general uses. FYI I have two more Ekas that I will eventually discuss in a video review. Cheers!

@Axbent there is a small shop in the Tiensestraat, with mainly laguiole-like products of all price ranges. In Brussels there is also a nice shop in a shopping alley next to the Nieuwsstraat.
Found a german webshop called 'Wolfster', they carry most EKA and ship to Belgium for free (+25eur orders). They sell the same Masur88+elkskin pouch for 72.60Eur and the model8 bubinga+sheath for 35.90Eur, you can also get the plain bubinga88 without pouch for 29.90Eur. If you want the mod.8 in 12C27 sandvic then theres the model 82 for 52.90Eur
Dagon you are really encouraging an interest that I already had in European regional knives. You are also very hard on my wallet! That 88 is absolutely beautiful. It also has that classic Swedish functionality. 'Beyond fashion' great phrase.

@tollan23 Probably best is to contact EKA directly. Here in Europe, the sheath comes with the Masur version.

@MrDagon007 Actually I got the masur version, and live in the UK. It didn't come with a sheath though. I'll shop around, but thanks for the tip!

Great review as usual! Keep up the good work!
You wouldn't happen to have a Eka Swede-82? Would love to see a review of the 82. I've been wanting to buy one of those for a while.

I don't have the 82. Perhaps one day...
