  • Andi MacDowell's performance was really weird in this movie. The writing for her character was a problem--she couldn't quite inhabit Carrie, and the British flavor of her lines didn't help matters.

  • OMG Rupert Vansittart looks younger! Obviously he was about 35 when it was filmed but there you go....

  • This makes me want to attend a British wedding. :-)

  • Andi MacDowell: transcendentally lovely when silent, but just the worst actress imaginable. She always sounds as though she's recovering from a series of blows to the head, or possibly a massive dose of barbiturates. The producers should have done what they did on Graystoke, and gotten Glenn Close to loop her dialogue. If Carrie had been an interesting character, this movie would be about perfect.

  • @ishtarg8 I totally agree with you. If she hadn't been in this, I would prefer this over Notting Hill. And I wouldn't want to bash my head against a wall when she speaks. This movie is awesome bar that, though.

  • FUCKING COURSEWORK!!!

  • this film would be perfect if carrie wasnt the most boring charater in film history.........i mean jesus talk about a love interest, i cant even be bothered to try believe i care about anything she has to say............

  • wow, nice car

Uk is england, scotland, wales and ireland all of it lol

  • i love hugh grant.he is my favorite actor

  • thnx for uploading

  • is the scottish and irish and welsh accent not also british?

  • Scotland and Wales are part of Britain. Ireland's decidedly not.

  • northern ireland?

  • Part of the UK, not Britain, isn't it?

  • Great Britain is very often, but incorrectly, used as a synonym for the sovereign state properly known as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or the UK for short.

If you look at the full name of the UK, you will see that the UK includes Great Britain AND Northern Ireland.

  • That's pretty much what I just said, right?

  • yep

  • When I was little and watched this movie, I thought her line "That's too bad, because I'm at the Boatman" was "hat's too bad, because I'm the Boatman."

For a really long time I wondered why the owner of a hotel called Boatman actually referred to herself as the Boatman. And why she owned a hotel in England and lived in USA. I didn't pay attention clearly lol.

  • the music that is playing at 1:45 the reception is the same song in Love Actually which is also by Hugh Grant.

  • @alicechi1 lol 'by' Hugh Grant.

  • wtf!! fair enough hugh grants accent is thick british....but u cant go as far as sayin all british people sound/look like that!

  • @Ravenous11yt are you american?

  • The "Boatman" is in fact the Saracen's Head in Beaconsfield.

  • "novels of Wordsworth"?!?!? hahaha... clever script.

  • nice movie
