  • I did the same thing and when I put the mug in the oven in 170 degree a bad smell like burning smell came out of the oven so I couldn't leave it for more than 10 min's!!

please help what shall I do!!??

  • @bibidoll66 You need to check and then follow the paint manufacturers instructions (and maybe clean your oven?!! :0) Have fun!

  • any ceramic cup is fine?

  • @kassachxd Yes, any ceramic cup is fine =D i bought my mugs at dollar store =) and it work perfectly finee ^__^ its just depends on what kinda quality you want your mug to be.

  • @cardcaptorsakura2007 how do we know a cup is ceramic??? like are most cheap mugs from the dollar store ceramic ...like the heavy, glossy white mugs?

  • @Fairytailslilangel ceramic mug is when a mug is glaze and the mug is a finish product of clay. I'll send you pictures of ceramic mugs. But its similar to what you said, glossy white mugs. it doesn't have to be heavy though. =) and Yes, mugs are cheap at the dollar store. But you don't have to buy it at the dollar store. If you want better quality mugs, look for stores that sell glassware, or even superstore that have section of "Kitchen or Home related items" =)

  • this has been really helpful!!!! thanks!!!

  • Can you use any paint to paint a mug? Cause I don't want it to scratch off.

  • @lalateelala The reason you use Ceramic paints and then cure in t he oven, is so that the paint will not scratch off! Acrylic or poster paint just doesn't offer this permanence. Good luck and have fun!

  • @lalateelala Use Ceramic or Porcelain paints, their both paints are the same. Do not use Acrylic, i tried it but it never stay. it will wash off once the mug touch by waters.

  • @cardcaptorsakura2007 is there any name to call ceramic or porcelain paints? I've been searching for the paint.. ><

  • @TVXQVeeAh What do you mean by name? you mean the Brand? the one im using its from Pebeo Porcelaine (aka Porcelain) paints.

you can try looking at Art stores because thats where i bought it. o.o Where are you from? Im from Canada so if you live around there, you should look at Micheals or DeSerres

  • very nice..thanks

Q: Should I always use the marker first?

  • @zeze989 its seems art has it no rules, do it the way you are comfortable.
