Neko being the artist that she is would not participate with them unless she was on board. They are indie and do what they want. The same goes for Dan Bejar. The NP are really a fascinating band with a lot of talent. Talent has a way of drawing gifted artiest together.

Listening without watching the clip, the emotion is all there. Music is an aural art and ears are not eyes - facial expression and body movements don't determine whether music is emotional. Hand gestures and smiles are easy, and easy to fake. Writing music and singing is hard, and I think she does it with emotion.

@ColdmaN5 I've seen her several times live in concert, and the sad thing is, no recording does her voice justice. She has very earthy tone to her voice which the gravity of it doesn't always get picked up very well via recording. Live you really hear it, and truely, if you think her voice is good live, I can promise you, it's far better live right in front of her.

@ColdmaN5 I've seen her several times live in concert, and the sad thing is, no recording does her voice justice. She has very earthy tone to her voice which the gravity of it doesn't always get picked up very well via recording. Live you really hear it, and truely, if you think her voice is good live, I can promise you, it's far better live right in front of her.

Ok, sorry to add another comment about her looks... but... she kind of looks like the character played by Ali Larter in Resident Evil Afterlife. I knew when I was watching the movie it couldn't be Neko Case fighting zombies, but the irony was quite humorous!

@CollapsingClouds I can only pick out one possible youngin' in this ensemble, the drummer (he has Beck-ish young looks though, he could be 70 for all I know!)....maybe the acoustic guitarist too (beards throw me off!). Neko herself will be 40 this year :D. I have a feeling she will be this hawt when she's 50 too!
