What would you call a 700 billion welfare check to private business from the tax-payers? What would you call 0% income tax for some of the highest paid individuals?
What would you call a income tax that is one fifth of the income tax for a middle class worker?
Wealthy Republicans: "Go work for 80 hours a week, pay your taxes and die because of bad insurance and I'll go and drink whiskey with my rich fat-cat corporate friends"
How did the (supposed) leading advocates of Jesus Christ and his teachings become attached at the hip to a Political party whose goal seems to be 180 degrees away from Gods Biblical opinion on the wealthy, to his teachings on war and poverty? If their logic is starting to sound a bit tortured, that's because there opinions and actions are no longer based on the TRUE teachings of Jesus Christ. If the Biblical God were to return he would likely reject these charlatans as UN-Christian zealots.
"Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Show me the coin used for paying the tax." They brought him a denarius, and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?" "Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
Christians and churches have a right and obligation to speak out on social and political issues just as any other individual or organization. Coral Ridge does a great job!
The church should have less speaking out and more doing. If the church spent all the money in these politically motivated "ministries" in actually serving the community, the government wouldn't have to.
Yes the government can't fix large social problems. But if the church who's called to serve and be ambassadors of Christ were to take care of the poor and feed the hungry and carry each other's burdens looked to their community, there would be less onus on government to provide.
The church has used fear for ages to keep people in line. This is no different. You know what is interesting is that maybe this film isn't so bad after all since Jesus was one of the greatest socialist.
Talk about the ideas. You're simply trying to silence those you disagree with. This video makes a strong case against the notion that socialism is congruent to Christianity.
@dougmath No it doesn't. It doesn't make a case for anything period. Its just silly quotes from people who think capitalism = Christianity and vice versa.
@dougmath I'm trying to get them off their butts & pay their taxes instead of me having to pay it for them. What they are doing is religious socialism. They can get a job & lobby with their own money. I shouldn't have to pay for their political opinions. There were & are Christian socialists, BTW.
wooooooooooo..... Socialism.... thats some scary shit

Jesus was the first socialist. The very bible your religion is based on outlines this fact.

All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.

Jeez sounds like the bible tells me to share my stuff...

Funny, under Reagan the wealthy were taxed at a 50% rate. Obama proposes 39% and these freaks are calling socialism.
Illiteracy is rampant among christian freaks, obviously.

Silence those you oppose with the law. The Church is under attack by those that wish to redefine the Church into oblivion.
