I agree with theboboman that Charlie's drumming is great on this song. Jagger's vocals are excellent too. A very clever song. A buried Stones classic.
it doesnt matter. noone seriously compares KISS to the Rolling Stones. You think KISS would ever let as much open material out as the stones - give me a break. KISS has a stick up their butts. Detroit ROck City is cool, ok, but BETH, or all that 80s trash - Lick it up - what was that about - licking their own musical feces and urine off the floor? I was young when that video came out and let me tell you - I was horrified. KISS made grunge happen.
Ace can't even play the song without using clumsy power chords. This song perfectly shows how Ace plays guitar wearas brian Jones was an artist with the guitar.
This is a Stones song! A Jagger/Richards composition...They gave birth to it lol...It is in the world, availabe to your senses ,availabe for cover versions, because of them...It's their baby..
If any of you have heard of Wes Anderson and have seen his movie, bottle rocket, then you would probably have a greater appreciation of this song, cinema, and maybe life in general.
Hint it's played towards the end of the movie when Dignan (Owen Wilson) gets busted by the cops.
Sorry I respect Wes but i don't need a film director like him or Tarantino to turn my onto music especially the Stones I grew up with this song! I would hate myself if the first time I'd ever heard Exile was beacuse of The Departed or this song because of a Wes Anderson film!
Very true and I completely agree. I was simply replying to all the people who like the kiss version better. To me an original is almost always better than a cover. And you have to admit that this song fits perfectly with the scene in the movie. It starts kinda calm and then the cops come and he starts runing and it changes then he gets tackled in the fish cooler and the cops kick the shit out of him in the pile of ice. Excellent I just love it.
this done this song very good, both unplugged and studio, got many "young" friend who play this over and over again with kiss, its a timeless (do u say so?) tune, doset matter if u are 18 or 50
the aspect that makes the original so classic is the drumming. Kiss does a good job , but cannot comapre to charlie...Not sure if the Stones ever did this Live.
i love the spider web of colors and connection points. i love the way you make textures breath and become alive. i sincerely dig the lines you make when you draw and the farout ways you make it happen!

the music publishers silenced it because the 40 plus year old copyright hasn't yet expired. i cant figure out how to turn off the
sound and leave the images, they haven't added john cage to their stable of fixed puppies.

The Kiss' version is rocker style, but the Rolling Stones'is a little psycodelical, that is my perception.

Don't these lyrics sound like they were written today instead of the 1960s? " And I'M having an affair with a random computer..."
