Carrie is a wonderful person, a talented writer, but she's got low self-esteem, which must have come from her very difficult childhood. That would account for the weight she's put on to protect herself. There's nothing wrong with being a bit overweight, but you can see how she feels insecure, however talented and funny she is, and she IS. She's one of the best comic writers around. I love her.
