I personally agree that America should leave Israel alone, and that includes giving them weapons. Israel is fully capable of both defending herself and have a strong economy, without America's support. The added benefit is that America can't force Israel to do things, IE create a Palestinian terrorist state in her belly.
US aid to Israel is currently around $3 billion a year. It would take over 500 years at that level to reach $1.75 trillion. Since 1949, total aid to Israel is around $100 billion.
