My click of death isn't this frequent at all and doesn't sound so shallow like this and have been clicking for like a year... wait a minute! maybe it's not a click of death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hard Drives unfortunately are the most unreliable things you can trust your data to. The question is not 'will it break' but rather 'when will it break'. Hope the SSD will come in the near future.
Well, floppy disks are reliable when you take good care of them. They only fail if they take an impact or if you remove them while the drive is still moving.
In fact, hard drives are known to be very reliable data storage devices indeed. USB keys are too, but you are right to some degree as both of them have the habit of suddenly failing and taking all your data with it.
No, I can't remember what drive I had in that computer. I know it wasn't anything bigger than 120gigs.
But the sound would be common amongst any manufacture for this type of failure. My best guess is the drive head broke inside and that is what is creating the clicking sound.
oh, ok i have a WD400BB that looks almost like that one sounds the same, and it is supposed to be an 40gb but reads 20gb even when i formatted it to, i don't like western digital to much i prefer Seagate with 5 year warranty have 20 of them going 24/7 for an year still going strong!
So that is the sound of all the data on your Zip disk going away? Is that an Iomega Zip drive? And by gosh, does AQ40 mean Ahn'Qiraj? If so, what does having a bad disc have to do with preventing your character in World of Warcraft from attenting a raid?
My WD200 Protege drive sounded exactly like this (I have a video of it), so :D

@doxent i think floppy disks are more unreliable (opinion) less space more failing and losing info is as simple as sliding a magnet over it
