2 Finnish SS Mikael Pyyhtiä and Ensio Könönen where surround in small hill during combat but still they hold soviet forces over 6 hour with hand grenades, MG-42 and Karl98K and when help finally arrived they count that over 300 soviet soldier where killed or wounded.

Neitherer they nor their friends hated Russians; they regarded them as poor boys that had march to the tune of Stalin's pipes. But recall that Finland in 1939 was a very heterogeneous nation, with still big tribal differences, and bigger social ones - only 20 yrs had elapsed from the bloody civil war between reds (workers and sharecroppers) and whites (bourgeoise and land owning farmers). Urbanization was rapid and an increasing number of people got academic education. The strenght of Finland was that whaever their world view, all agreed that Stalin's communism was not for us - rather dead.

Soviets killed also over 50 % for they Finnish Pows during a war. You have heard soviet partisans how they rape 10 year old kids and old womens when they operated in Finnish villages?

Oh and if Finnish army would helped Germans in siege of Leningrad, peoples death rate would be much higer what it is, Finnish army did not shot any shell in the city and Finnish air forces did not dropped bombs in the city because Mannerheim did not wanted to help Germans eliminate that city.
