  • No drop stop? Just plain old stopping? Awww

  • yikes.

  • That girl was rolling up.

  • is your guys attention at your belly button? cause if so ours is different

  • that one girl who was always off...

  • Really

  • the reason no one was together was that no one was counting thats the issue

  • heehee "peggys" we call them drop spins and needs some work

  • @superchickrocs1

There's a difference between the peggy's and dropspins. Dropspins are just up and down, but peggy's are like the 'peggy spin windup's for a silk toss. You go down like the beginning of a dropspin, grab money, grab over, then up like the end of a dropspin. :)

  • @rollerchick1654 haha i watched a vid on those i found out i do them without me knowing lol

  • during drop spins, some of the girls didnt have a thumb on their silk...therefore the silk got twisted around the pole,,,very sloppy-Barely together too:/

  • They weren't together except on drop spins, I kept seeing this 1 girl who was always off on Peggy spins and it really bothered me.

  • @ccsingle07

    How big are the flag?

  • ....um well i like that they teach peggy spins!

  • Their routine is not together. They only seem to be together with drop spins which is pathetic. No offense.

  • that boy in the front has nooo technique. at alll

  • WHY ARE PEOPLE CLAPPING WHEN ITS JUST FLAG BASICS ugh your so lucky you got to practice on a field like that LUCKY DUCKIES

  • @xuhhhx This is a PAID camp for any high school age student to go to. So they getting what they pay for. Also parents are PROUD of their kids, that is why they are clapping.

  • @ccsingle07 What camp? will there be on this year? in flordia?

  • @tmd1589 This is the Color Guard/Drum Major camp that is held every summer at Central Michigan University. It is for current or aspiring drum majors or color guard members/captains. Though my school only sent the current drum majors and color guard captain each year as it is a little bit expensive to pay out of pocket.

  • I'm not trying to be rude at all, but this is just a suggestion. It's usually very helpful to make sure everyone is standing the same way while learning/doing basics (1st position, 2nd position, 3rd position etc.) It helps enforce and stress uniformity and gets new members into good habits for later in their spinning careers. Just saying! :)

  • @favoritediscoball This is true, though I found that while I was in high school we were only told about those positions while in Winter Guard and it was a bit disappointing that it wasn't stressed at all during the marching band season. Though later on in this program during the dance portion we went through some position basics, they are just not shown in this video.

  • @ccsingle07 Luck thats all i hear now in marching is, 2nd position! 2nd 2nd 2nd and then 3rd every time we halt

  • This was just a sample to show the parents what the group had learned over the week. We did so much more than 50 each day. As I recall we increase our spins throughout the day so that eventually we were doing multiple sets of 200.

  • only 50 drop spins?? O.o?!! Man... we had to do 200 everyday, twice a day for a two week clinic called ... Band Camp dun dun dun DUUUUNNNN!!!! XD at our 3 one-week clinics it was 100 drop spins.

  • we did 600 twice a day at my band camp for a week

  • ayup yup lol XD I think I had to do around 1000 every two days because I got "punishment" for not being punctual which added on 500 drop spins in addition to the 100 we had to do if we stopped during the 200 dropspins or any of our other drills XP ugh... it is totally true that every good guard director is a variation of Hitler, though XD my guard season starts up next week, so I'm getting pumped!!! lol

  • Don't mean to hate: but this is sub par basics and guard book...

  • dont mean to hate, but clearly their training program needs some strengthening.

dropping on thumb flips??...I hope this isnt the CMU colorguard...

  • Cut them some slack. This is a week long training program for high school color guard members, for some this is the first time they have picked up a flag. No the actual Marching Chippewas have a much more rigorous training program. Go Chips!

  • they did a wonderful job

I've only been to 2 different hour and a half practices

    I can't do ANYTHING :(

  • @LaFred88 hating much. :| Pretty Rude too. Not every color guard knows everything.

  • i wish we could have guys on our guard and it amazes me to see how different it is in each guard...like our guard moves all around the feild and we go through the band...but i hate guard this year because we are going to be doing a llot of stunts

  • lucky! i wish out guard would be infront of the band. we always are in the back. grrr

  • atleast your not marching with the band and going through the drumline, who never knows where they're going. haha

  • totally true. i have to run up towards them and it seems every time i am going there they are somewhere else.

  • Theres only one girl on the drumline at my school, and shes the only one who ever knows where shes going haha.

  • no fair!yall get to have guys on ur guard!our director wont let us!but other than that good job!!!

  • @ccllvvcookie thats not fair he cant stop people from doing that

  • LUCKY U GET DAMN SOLOS! AND UR GUARD IS IN FRONT OF THE BAND! My stupid ass director idk probably asks the drill writier to put us in the back cause we always r behidnn the band and we don't get solos. We also have a crappy choreographer, that we tlel him we'd make our own routines instead of using her but NO! U were good though nic eot see some guys.

  • Why do people assume that guys in guard are gay? Just because they're in guard doesn't automaticly make them gay! There's a guy in my middle school gurad and people say he's gay all the time. THEY MIGHT AS WELL SPIT IN MY FACE!

  • I don't know, it annoys me, even when they joke about it.

  • I agree, it annoys the crap otu of me when everyone calls me fag and shit for ebign on guard. i MEAN I'm not gay for being on guard i just am a gay who happens to love to spin a flag. So i agree with u guys but sorry to say I don't help ru cause

  • And guys are almost always more capable in colorguard. More muscle mass. Bigger tosses. Solid catches.

  • i kno, it really annoys me because if the whole "gay' stereo type went away about guys in guard, then it might be a more respected sport. and guys are usually such great spinners, it would be nice if it became a more co-gender sport

  • what song did u do the mderd dance to? that tecno song could me cool for me n my frinds for our duet.

  • i was wonderign the same thing

  • I emailed the guy who was our instructor, he still hasn't gotten back with me, ill let you know as soon as I do.

  • Cool! The dance routine was good!

  • i like his filming of whisper. i'll be so sad next year. no cody. :(

  • I'm sad that I won't be going. I will be going to the final performance though and maybe another day too.

  • Our guard instructor got so pissed at us one day she made us do 5,000 drop spins and then hold attention at right shoulder for 30 straight minutes while we marched basics with the band. It sucked hardcore. lol

  • that must have sucked

  • this is a pretty boss video

  • Thanks
