just curious, is it possible to mount a turbo directly on top of the intake manifold with the butterfly built into the intake of the turbo?? route the exhaust up to the turbo and incoming air scooped by the hood can cool the pipes? would it make the turbo more efficient? the air filter can stick out through the hood of the car. the fastest way to suck in cold air. let me know if this setup is possible...experimental ford explorer 4.0l v-6 ;)
Uuhhh.... Maybe. The top engine vents are used to extract air out of the engine and not to pull air into them. A turbo on this car would be noce. Too bad I sold it.
That sounds really nice. I have an H272 that I haven't installed yet. I'm going to put it into my 3.2 stroker engine. (3.1 crank / rods, and .040 overbore pistons).
Hows the thing run? im putting 3.4 in my 88 formula. 40" domed pistons(10.25: 1 compression) , Melling Cam, 1.6 full roller rockers, 305 19lb injectors, 2.5' inch exhaust through a flowmaster/ no cat, and WCF cold air intake. yours sounds real nice tryin to get an idea how the 3.4 does in a fiero.
Not yet. Is still have not been tuned. Had two bad transmissions since I installed the engine. Bad luck I guess :-( Need to fix that first but free time has not been on my side.
Your wheels look like the exact design I saw and wanted to get like 6 years ago for my Fiero but when I saved up they had stopped making them. Are they American Racing? Either way let me know I want that style so bad man.
Hi, have you made a dyno test with the cam and truleo intake? Im installing the 3.4 ohv engine in my '87 Fiero GT within 1-2 months (ocelot, no cat., sprint manifolds)
Your Fiero sounds EXACTLY like mine. I've got the 3.4L, I think the cam is the same as yours. I'm running stock headers, ..but they go to a mangaflow muffler. The cam and the muffler is what makes the sound. I don't have the trueleo intake though, ....yet LOL. Don't you love the deep sound? I love mine. :) At WOT, look out! you won't hear your radio/CD. :D
what cam do you have? i have a 3.4 camaro and im looking for a cam that sounds like yours. what cam is it. what else did you do to the engine, it sounds great!
That is the stock SE body panels found on 85-87 Fieros. This one is an 88 Formula that I changed all lower panels to look like an SE. But the trim was kept round as in 88s.
Nice

Did you lower it? If so, how many inches? Any bodywork done to the car? Thanks!

About 2" all around. It is an 88 Formula with the lower panels of the GT model and round trim.

It has FOCOA headers and a 2.5" pipe to a single magnaflow muffler located where the cat goes. I still haven't run it back to the car.

hey dude, I've also got a 3.4 in my fiero. I have ported manifolds, flowmaster, underdrive pulley, and DM T.B.
Do you have a picture of how your exhaust is set up? Mine doesn't sound this deep, i like this sound
bassplr4ever 3 years ago
It is an H272 cam and valve train with;
- Shaved heads
- 2.5" exhaust from down pipe to single entry/exit Magnaflow muffler
- 1.52 roller tip rockers
- Roller timing chain
- Trueleo intake
- Equal lenght headers
