  • i don't see why these are death jumps...

  • to bad that your feet stick to the floor to long

  • Yes.

  • Yes.

  • are the boxes in cm?

  • why doesn't he just turn around and jump back to the box on the left...

  • @FilippoGhost88

want to keep the sets and reps pretty low to train explosiveness, if too many reps are done than you will be training endurance, don't keep doing them until you feel the burn if you want to train explosiveness, only about 3 sets of 7 to 10 reps.

  • The music is cool...

  • yes the heels touch the ground, the whole foot should touche the ground so that the impact is absorbed throught more of the foot

  • @DaHBoys Your heel cannot absorb any impact at all; you go ahead and do that while training bare foot hahaha

  • do the heels touch the ground?

  • ..thats what I was wondering. I think the heels touch the ground for a brief second?

  • not really , when you jump the force does not come from the heels but rather from balls of your feet right ?

  • what is that useful for? what about sets and reps?

  • by falling down you create more inertia, by jumping right after landing you are forcing your muscles to jump with more force. This would be good for all jumping events. Not sure on sets and reps.

  • um ok like who cant do dat

  • Comment removed

  • how many in a row.. and how often do you do these??

  • he makes that look so easy

  • Interesting music. It contained a sample from the N64/PS/DC computer game "Shadowman"

  • thahts is some fu..... and its mega easy... omg just no comment

  • Hey great demonstration, I gotta question. I need to have like 38" vertical jump, would this exercise help me reach that target if I could only jump like 28"? Please reply soon.

  • I do plyometrics every day and stretch so far i gained 8 inches in vertical leap !!!!

  • in what time?

  • You're not supposed to do plyometrics everyday. You could have gained more if you did less

  • do the plyos twice a week, three times max. they are very rigorous and shock the nervous system. your body needs time to recover. you are overtraining.

  • WTF IS THIS????

  • He returns to the original box for recovery purposes. At least, that's why i do it.

  • Yes thats right, I also have a lot of time to train and this is quality tech work and not fitness. It aslo makes the action clear and simple for everyone to understand. Most of the time I train by leading a group or with proffesional training partners so doing it this way can acomadate for others, always great for competition and motivation.

  • /watch?v=s6n6aLHqu2A

  • is dat at Loughbrough Uni???

  • i dont get it

  • why dont u just stay on the box.. instead of going back to the one u jumpeed off... it will be easier

  • so what does this do tho? i know the basic depth jump was to help your legs absorb impact but will it help you to jump higher after a while?

  • if the legs can absorb impact force then its stored as elastic energy to add to the force off the push off so it will make you jump higher. Depth jumping is used to gradually reduce inhibiting reflexes when undergoing landing forces.

  • makes sense, how often did you do this before you saw any results?? how many reps (and sets?) would you recommend to start with?

  • that didnt look very hard, but i tried it out... its very hard to do :P
